How to paint freshly plastered walls

In this video I am showing you how to paint freshly plastered walls and the importance of applying a mist coat.
I am applying the mist coat with a spray gun as I'm testing it out but if you want to use a paint brush and roller that's fine and the Mist coat ratios are the same.

I've been using the trend stealth half mask, which has been pretty good. probably would need something a bit more bespoke if i were using it longer term. Will speak about it in my next video

Thanks Andy, Spray gun works well on ceilings, the suction pipe is angled so you can turn it to always suck from the bottom. its a nice bit of kit for £50. I will be doing a full review in my next video

Hi, did you also use the sprayer for the forest green? If so what did you use to cover up/mask the white?

Hi, Yes i used the sprayer for both. I used some disposable plastic sheets and some frog tape. The plastic sheets were like thin dust covers.

Hi, yes i sprayed directly over a mist coat. The mist coat just seals the plaster and i did 2 coats on top of the green

Use PVA glue mixed , 4 water 1 PVA as a mist coat to seal new plaster.

Does pva not seal too much that it leaves a film that paint wont stick properly or is 4 to 1 thin enough? Ive always used 50/50 paint and water.

@@MATTDOESSTUFF2020 It's fine if your spraying or rolling, I've use this method for over 20 years with no issues, I generally use matt paint as a base coat.

I see you not wearing any eye or face protection. Doesn't the spray get into your eyes.
