Im watching this while I put my 20 month old down for her nap. I’m also a SMBC via IVF at I’m assuming the same clinic you’re using. I did 6 rounds of IUI then planned to start IVF right away but had to postpone for 2 months for an unrelated reason. I am so thankful I had to delay by 2 months because I have the baby I was meant to have. It is so hard when you’re in it but it becomes a distant memory so fast!
@@KaitlynMarie-ug3po I was in Alexandria and did everything in Fairfax. I was lucky and the first embryo that transferred worked! I was 38 at the egg retrieval and turned 39 a few weeks later and did the transfer a couple weeks after that. I did a frozen transfer which wasn’t the initial plan but my progesterone was too high for a fresh transfer.
@@Kcorra I’m in the Annapolis area. I’m planning on a frozen transfer because I want to do PGT testing I’m 35 and hopefully it will work on the first transfer.

oh man I'm sorry! Thats such a huge bummer. I actually ovulated through my lupron on one of my FET cycles--I think in the first week its common to raise estrogen --I bet 5 more days will do the trick.. I'm really hoping for you! If I hit a delay in my stims I'm gonna just have to hold on BC until after our trip which would be such a bummer. I"m just crossing my fingers my body behaves itself the next few weeks. Hopefully you'll be giving us the update that stims started at your next update!
I hope so! It’s the disappointment of pushing the trip and it’s just the mental and emotional rollercoaster. I went in this morning thinking everything looks good and then got a call that it’s delayed. 5 days isn’t much but it’s the anticipation of everything.
@@KaitlynMarie-ug3po totally get it! I'm glad you do have some flexibility with travel that you can still go on the trip even if you have to move it. if this all works out and you get your take home baby it will ALL have been worth it. Thats something I keep replaying in my head and it helps.
I am in my journey to become a single mother by choice as well. This morning I got my fourth IUI negative result. So it is not by best day so far. I will probably do another IUI and then switch to FIV. If the next IUI does not work, I am thinking of freezing my eggs while I wait to start the FIV (just to have options to have another baby if I want in a few years). I am from Spain and the government covers the cost of a few treatments, but the waiting list is ridiculously long. I wanted to share my experience just in case it helps, as I know that it has helped me to talk to people in a similar journey as me. This video for example has helped me this morning to feel less alone. I am sure that we will get there soon, it is just taking a little longer than we initially anticipated.
Thank you for sharing. a thought if you were thinking that you want to have another baby in a few years, you may want to consider jumping to IVF and hopefully you can have a few embryos banked for that future baby versus doing another IUI right now, especially if the government covers some of the cost for Fantastic
@@KaitlynMarie-ug3poThanks for replying. The issue is that you have to go through the number of IUIs that they considered at the beginning of starting the process, before changing to IVF. I guess that it is because the cost of an IUI is significantly lower that the IVF. The egg freezing is because the waiting list to start the IVF once I finish the IUIs can be 6 months to one year. I have always seen myself having two kids, and since it is taking longer than expected, I am worried about my age when trying for a second. I can't freeze embryos as they don't cover the cost of the FIV if you already have embryos, but it is ok if you have Frozen eggs. Very weird, I know 😂. Good luck in the next appointment!! It is maybe Ok on the 5th day already. Hoping for the best 🤞
I just had my 10th transfer found out a couple of days ago it failed. So I have had 7 failed transfers 3 transfers take only to end up miscarrying. My next transfer is November 5th so hoping this one works. Good luck
Perhaps you must think about using your frozen eggs after all😊 It will give your body a break. I've heard of women who had frozen eggs ,and who has never used them.
In case no one has said it- your feelings are so valid! It can always be worse and those suck too but it can also be emotional for your journey.
