Thank you for sharing your IVF journey, April. I'm so nervous about potentially having to do IVF in June after six IUI attempts (currently on our 5th IUI cycle) with unexplained infertility. But hearing someone's real experience and feelings helps so much! So much happiness and joy awaits you with this pregnancy, it gives me so much hope :)
Hi Joann! I will be thinking of you! IUI is such a similar journey in a lot of ways to IVF. I did IUI once but it didn't work for me. I don't know if you're in prep mode or feel like prepping at all. I really found reading Rebecca Fett's It Starts With the Egg helpful for me. It's not just for people with low ovarian reserve - she has tons of plans (supplement wise) for different people. Fertility treatments are amazing but can also make you feel out of control and it was my way of trying to take some power into my own hands. If that makes sense... Wishing you the best of luck!
@@bookishfairygodmother Thank you for the suggestion, I will definitely be picking this up soon! Yes, the feeling of being out of control is the worst part. Hi April, I’m so appreciative of your candor. My husband and I are just about to embark on our assisted reproductive treatment journey so thank you for sharing your story. Congratulations to you and your husband :)
Congratulations! You are 2 weeks further along than my daughter. 😊 2 of my daughters have conceived easily, but one of my daughters and her husband have been trying for 7 years. Very heartbreaking. I lost 3 babies before having my 4 children. Conceiving, pregnancy, and birth can be difficult... I'm very happy for you.
Thank you so much! And congratulations to your daughter! She must be feeling very happy that she's in the second trimester now. Is it your daughter who has been trying to conceive for a long time? Infertility is incredibly hard. I'll be thinking of her.
@@bookishfairygodmother no, different daughter. My 2 daughters that have children and is pregnant all conceived easily. I'm VERY happy for you! But you never know... My twins went undetected until my 3rd ultrasound at 20 weeks! I hope the rest of the pregnancy goes well for you.
Thank you for sharing your story & a massive congratulations. Xx I also have low ovarian reserve. Just had 1 failed fertilisation ivf, next cycle will be with icsi. Xx
Thanks so much for sharing, April :) It's so good to hear that ivf has worked for you! I'm starting to consider it myself because I keep miscarrying. Right now it looks like I'm going to have another miscarriage because the doctor didn't see any embryo, just the gestational sac at 6+0 week... there is still a chance that I got my dates wrong and the embryo will appear in the next few weeks, but I'm a bit pessimistic as the last miscarriage was very similar, although a bit further along. So, if I do miscarry again, I will have all sorts of tests run on me and my husband and maybe even go for IVF with PDG in case the miscarriages keep happening because of genetic abnormalities (which is apparently very common, we might be carriers of some kind of mutation without knowing it). It's very encouraging to hear stories like yours x
@@bookishfairygodmother Thank you xx We'll see, maybe I won't have to go down the full IVF route. But it's comforting to know that the option is there and that it has worked for other people.
Thank you April for sharing your experience, it is really helpful to get insight into your IVF journey. I appreciate your honesty and clear description of each step. My husband and I are considering IVF after trying for over 3 years too..! It’s a big decision but so pleased it worked for you both first time round! Congratulations! Your baby must be with you now? Is it a boy or girl? I hope you’re all well, God bless Xx
do you think you would try to do an FET for your frozen embryo in the future? You are very lucky to have had success on round 1. We have had 3 failed transfers, and 2 failed rounds of IVF. I'm in a similar boat as my body is poor responder and now I'm getting older and just worried if its going to get harder.
I definitely feel lucky that Nora is here. I think it’s a BIG misconception a lot of people have about ivf. They think it always works. But it’s really hard. I don’t think we will do a fet on our embryo. I am wishing you so much luck Katherine. And I’m sending you a big hug. Infertility was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced.
Hi! So glad I found your chanel... have same exact issue low ovarian reserve, already had one failed round of egg freezing :(... I watched your first video with your vitamin recommendation- for this last and successful round did you only take ubiquinol and high dose Vitamin D + melatonin prior to procedure?
First, congratulations and may God bless you and your baby😃 I’m new to your channel, so if I may ask how old you, please? I’m asking because I have low ovarian reserve. Thank you so much, and I loved watching your video
Hello I’m going trough IVF right now and I have a few questions. Did you do PGT test on the embryos? If not, why you decided not to do it? Also, by watching your video, it looks like you didn’t have to wait too much between retrieval and transfer. Can you elaborate how this part worked for you? Is just that my retrieval was on May and I don’t even have transfer until August or September… I don’t know why they are having a huge gap and making me wait so long😞. This is making me very anxious. Thank you I hope you can respond. 💕
Hi Sheila! Wishing you the best of luck with your IVF process. For myself, we live in Ontario and are lucky enough to get IVF for free. BUT they don't do PGT testing. And for myself we did a fresh embryo transfer meaning I did all the retrieval part and then a transfer soon after (same cycle). That said they also froze my other embryos that I had as well. I think you need to ask your doctor why you need to wait. Sometimes it's for the sake of the woman's body to let it rest.
Oh wow, listening to the egg retrieval. My doctor has a surgical suite in their office and an nurse anaesthetist, so I remember nothing 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Hi Tina! I'm not really sure when we'll try the transfer. It'll probably depend on finances - we have 12 months of parental leave here in Canada. It'll probably depend on when we feel ready for another newborn. Of course all of this is assuming it will work which is totally not something I should assume! That will be a really big decision.
i am on cycle .today is day 14 just found 2 folicles 12mm and other 4 are below 10mm.they didnot give any patch to me. i feel pain while i was having menopur. i am happy for you.contratulations
I just got some bad news from my doctor, and was curious about your story. Did you have the antimullerian hormone test done? If so, what was your result? So happy for you and your family!
Hi Trisha. I'm sorry you got some bad news. My doctor didn't want to test amh. I'd really recommend reading It Starts With the Egg. If it's low ovarian reserve you're dealing with, her supplement routine might help! I was only focused on the amount of follicles I had the whole time and making the eggs as good quality as possible...
I'm happy for you. I just saw your video that was 3 years ago and you were explaing your plan for Jan IVF. I guess you didn't get pregnant in that cycle right?
We only ended up doing IVF in December. I ended up getting pregnant naturally before then. I ended up having a miscarriage with that pregnancy which was very hard. We were lucky that our first round of IVF worked
I just came across your channel and I think this is the story I need to hear..that there is hop and light at the end of the tunnel. I want to go for my 6th IVF. it is davistating mentally, emotionally and financially. However, I am trying to see what other couples went through so i get some tips of what went wrong and what did not. I just have a question if you don't mind. were you late 30s when you did your IVF? I am 42 now and I've been trying for 13 years now.. with one successful IVF but had a miscarriage after the first trimester. Please let me know! Thanks
Sending you so much light and love. I was 37 when I did ivf. I read a book that really helped me called It Starts With The Egg by Rebecca Fett. I did her advanced plan. That said it really is exhausting and I’m wishing you so much luck
@@bookishfairygodmother thanks dear! I am in Canada too and here doctor did not care much about the Natural killer cells in which in my 2nd IVF the doctor told me I had them and he thought I should have medication to make my immunity drops so my body doesn't fight the embryo. I am not sure if this doctor would do something preventable this time 😤🙁
I had my transfer today but it took some time. Not painful but catheter was not going. They changed catheters etc. And did not show me on ultrasound. Doc told they placed it successfully. Embryologist also checked under microscope to make sure embryo not sticking to catheter. Hope it works😊

Hi April, I’m so appreciative of your candor. My husband and I are just about to embark on our assisted reproductive treatment journey so thank you for sharing your story. Congratulations to you and your husband :)
Hi Erika! I'm wishing you guys the very best of luck!
My other daughter who has been trying for 7 years with her husband found out the difficulties are on his end. They are looking into adoption now...and hoping to adopt siblings...2+.
I‘m so incredibly happy for you two 😍🥰🥰
I’m so glad it all worked out so well, and this is just such a cool video because I never knew exactly how it worked so thanks for sharing ☺️ so, so happy for y’all ❤️
Thanks Laura! It was a neat process. I didn't know all the details until I was in the midst of it really!
I love your IVF journey story!!
Been praying this whole time
I really appreciate you sharing your journey with us, April.
Thanks Kerry!
Congratulations 😘 keep smiling 🤗happy for you!
I'm so happy for both of you. Thanks for sharing this important part of your life with us. I'm so happy to know that others realize what was also my desire.

Aww April I’m so happy for you, like over the moon happy! I’ve been following you for a long time and have been grateful for you sharing so much of your experiences!
Thank you so much!! We are very excited!!
Thank you so much for sharing your story in such an honest and authentic way. This video has been hugely helpful! ☺️
Singing Beyoncé on drugs - that’s hilarious!
This sounds like such a chaotic and stressful experience but I’m so amazed how this all can be done!
So happy for you guys!!!
Hee hee! Yes apparently I sang XO lol. Thank you so much!!
I love your video!! The types of vitamins are great, but would encourage higher quality brands
I'm VERY happy for you! But you never know... My twins went undetected until my 3rd ultrasound at 20 weeks! I hope the rest of the pregnancy goes well for you.
Holy crap!!!! That’s crazy! I’ve had 4 ultrasounds at this point but you never know! Ha ha!!!
Congrats !! I really enjoy this and this was so interesting !! ❤️
Oh thank you Grace!
Happy for you... its my portion in Jesus named❤

Thank you for sharing your story & a massive congratulations. Xx I also have low ovarian reserve. Just had 1 failed fertilisation ivf, next cycle will be with icsi. Xx

Getting Hygge With It thank you. Xx
Congratulations 🎊
Im on 2ww ...
Please pray for me guys 🙏🏻
@@Music23257 Thank God for you and His faithfulness
I’m so sorry to hear about your miscarriages. I have had one and it was the hardest thing I experienced. Sending you love.
I really hope ivf works for you. Please know that I am here to talk anytime you like
@@bookishfairygodmother Thank you xx We'll see, maybe I won't have to go down the full IVF route. But it's comforting to know that the option is there and that it has worked for other people.
I am so happy for you!
Thank you!!
Wow. What an amazing story.
Thank you!! I am wishing you the best of luck!! Yes! I had a baby girl named Nora! I think I did a video on her birth!
You’re welcome, thank you hun! Aw how lovely! I will check out that video! Best wishes Xx
Congrats! Quick question, can you remember what supplements you took or avoided after embryo transfer and during the 2 week wait? Thanks xxx
I know that I stopped DHEA, but I can’t remember what I did after that. I’m so sorry
Congratulations!
Yay!! I’m so happy for you & your husband ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️welcome to Mommyhood 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much Nancy!!
do you think you would try to do an FET for your frozen embryo in the future? You are very lucky to have had success on round 1. We have had 3 failed transfers, and 2 failed rounds of IVF. I'm in a similar boat as my body is poor responder and now I'm getting older and just worried if its going to get harder.
I definitely feel lucky that Nora is here. I think it’s a BIG misconception a lot of people have about ivf. They think it always works. But it’s really hard. I don’t think we will do a fet on our embryo. I am wishing you so much luck Katherine. And I’m sending you a big hug. Infertility was the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced.
@@bookishfairygodmother thanks! I will need alot of luck!
Congrats did u had pgs test for the embryos
Hi! So glad I found your chanel... have same exact issue low ovarian reserve, already had one failed round of egg freezing :(... I watched your first video with your vitamin recommendation- for this last and successful round did you only take ubiquinol and high dose Vitamin D + melatonin prior to procedure?
I didn’t do melatonin but yes did the rest! Definitely pick up It Starts with the Egg by Rebecca Fett. It helped me! Wishing you the best of luck!!!
Congrats I tap into your blessing
Best of luck to you!
Soooooo happy for all! Of you
Congratulations!!
Thank you so much!
Hi, thanks for sharing your journey very helpful. Can you share the name of your IVF clinic?
Me too
Awww congratulations girl!!! 🥰
Thank you so much!!
What an amazing journey. I was wondering if you have thought about how soon you will try again with your frozen embryo once your baby is born?
Hi Tina! I'm not really sure when we'll try the transfer. It'll probably depend on finances - we have 12 months of parental leave here in Canada. It'll probably depend on when we feel ready for another newborn. Of course all of this is assuming it will work which is totally not something I should assume! That will be a really big decision.
thank you for your sharing. Please Have you take dhea in this cycle?
I don’t remember now
Congratulations!! How old are you?
Thank you! I'm 37.
Oh I am so happy for you !!!!
i am on cycle .today is day 14 just found 2 folicles 12mm and other 4 are below 10mm.they didnot give any patch to me.
i feel pain while i was having menopur.
i am happy for you.contratulations
Wishing you all the luck in the world
Thank you
Wonderful story!
I just watched you video and was wondering until what age can you go that treatment?
Did you continue taking the vitamins when you get pregnant?
No I stopped everything except my multivitamin. I also stopped when I was doing the ivf cycle as per my doctors request
@@bookishfairygodmother Thanks, I will definitely get my hands on that book!
I am not sure if this doctor would do something preventable this time 😤🙁
Congrats and I missed if you had to take anaesthesua to retrieve your eggs.
May i ask what protocol did u use? I also have low amh / poor ovarian reserve
I had my transfer today but it took some time. Not painful but catheter was not going. They changed catheters etc. And did not show me on ultrasound. Doc told they placed it successfully. Embryologist also checked under microscope to make sure embryo not sticking to catheter. Hope it works😊
I'm really hoping that that little embryo can hunker down and get cozy for you!
@@bookishfairygodmother thank you very much!! Wish you happy and healthy 9 months.
Congratulations and good luck
Hi, did you do PGS on the embryos? I am trying to decide if I should do it.
We didn’t do that
Congratulations April! I live in Ontario. I’m wondering, do you live in Ontario? If yes, what fertility clinic did you go to? I’m currently researching clinics here in Toronto.
Thanks Maria! I live in Ottawa so I went to the Ottawa Fertility Centre. There's just one in this city...wishing you so much luck on your journey!
@@bookishfairygodmother I could tell by your accent you had to be ontario!!
@@bookishfairygodmother Hi..I live in ottawa too and consulting at ottawa fertility center..I m also diagnosed with low ovarian reserve last month and was very disappointed..I m 33 yrs old and It was kind of shocking for me..I would love to connect with you if you dont mind please
@@dr.kavitathanki453 Hi there! i hope you know that there's still lots of options for you even with low ovarian reserve! IVF is a wonderful thing for us! :)
Also what was your amh level before the treatment..
Never tested my amh
Which clinic did you go to and how low was your reserve if you don't mind answering?
Ottawa fertility clinic and my ivf cycle had 8 follicles
@@bookishfairygodmother thanks. I had an amh of 1ng (7.8pmol) but yet to see how many follicles. It's so nerve wrecking. You gave me hope even with a lower amount. When i google AMH and being 38 It's all doom and gloom.
@@qitae I really hope that your ivf cycle works super well for you! I know it's incredibly hard. So I'm just sending you so much good wishes.
