@53:05 - just an interesting thing I noticed- Jesus, over and over, specifically says they have to eat his body and drink his blood.. or they have no eternal life. Ot was a controversial command. Many walked away.. He lost followers. The verse where they walk away is 6:66. 666? Isn’t this just bizarre how this number pops up? The people denying the literal statement in eating his flesh? I’m not insisting it has any type of meaning because of the numbering of the verse, just that I noticed it, and I wondered if any scholars noticed that too.
So much is about differences in interpretation. And since I am a Catholic I am to OBEY my Catholic Faith in all its interpretations, not I, the individual decide. My only decision, since I cannot transport myself back to the Medieval Ages when all were Catholic, is to realize objective history and that the Catholic Church goes back to Jesus. This, in a sense, deals with OUTSIDE THE BIBLE because to deal with the Bible since the Protestant Reformation means I, the individual, ignore history and believe either Luther, Calvin, or Knox or another of the Reformers.
I wish videos like this (on all sides) would have one person from each side, rather than two from the same side. It is much harder to make someone else's point for them than it is to talk directly to them.
You’re right, Evan. I think Karlo does a great job giving the strongest Protestant arguments using exclusively Protestant scholarship but it would be nice to have an actual Protestant.
Why is it so important to you that Catholics defend themselves against Protestant apologetics when it is the lost we are told by Christ to go out and save? For we know that "if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation, the old is gone and the new is here." Or is the defense needed because Protestants teach salvation is by faith alone as did Luther at the Diet of Worms, Germany. For as Romans 3:26 says "It was to show his [God's] righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just an the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.....vs 28 For we hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of law." Are we truly going to exist in love together if one teaches faith and another teaches faith and works?
Because your translation and interruption of the text is off and we don't teach faith and works, that is a misconception you were told. Once you understand what we actually teach maybe then we can stop talking past each other. The reason why its the Catholics defending is because its the protestants that attack most of the time. This is why you see more anti catholic sermons than anti protestant Homily's(not a thing at all)in Church.

Considering verse and chapter are relatively new addition to the bible it can't be a coincidence.
Excellent chat.. I hear Karlo's quotes on the Guadeloupe Radio Network
Good show sir,keep it up.
Thanks for your kind words, friend!
