    90 percent of these oil cooler failures are 5 min oil change places related. They over tighten the cap. Alot of them you can tell just look at the bolt put a white sharpie mark on the cap for tightening reference.Did this from day one. #2 do not put 5w20 in these engines only use pennzoil ultra synthetic 5w30.. 276k on my 15 durango

    I did mine and changed it with the all aluminum also and it still leaks coolant and oil just not nearly as much I’m just going to take it to a shop I trust and tell them to do, it such a pain 😩

    Did you drain the coolant for that hose?

      I don’t believe I drained any coolant it was high enough in the system.

    Do you need to drain the oil when changing it??

      I didn’t it’s so high in the system it wasn’t an issue. But I would recommend changing the oil at the same. But don’t need to.

    I think this might be my leaking oil source based on google search and not seeing source of leak. This looks like a total SOB to do without tech experience.

    Do the gaskets need any kind of adhesive ?

    • @RanfranzRanch
      @RanfranzRanch  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No they are rubber gaskets that just compress

      It’s a big job but doable but do it before your cam gets wiped out like ours and you can save 500 bucks.

    Thanks to you and the other TH-cam channel called NOTAMECHANIC I feel like I can do it myself also can you tell me what brand oil cooler with the gaskets you purchased also has it held up still or did it start leaking again?

      The link to the part we got is in the description. This is a part from Amazon probably not the highest quality but it came will all the gaskets and hasn’t leaked of had any problems as of now.
