    I got a 86 blazer and used the drill trick for a little and it actually broke it and my windows stuck down now do you know what that little wire is called and if I could get another?

      Window regulator cable. Lmc truck has them for $30. Amazon might have it too.

    I literally just worked on this two days ago! Wish I saw this video beforehand. Great job! Question: are you using the door key for your tailgate switch? Min doesn’t work and I don’t seem to have the right key. I’m getting one made as a first troubleshooting step.

      I got a new switch and key from gmcpaul.com. I believe there are others on ebay. It was a different key than the door locks but that doesn't bother me.

      Mine is original and the door key works for the tailgate switch

      @@Purosanluispotosi check the switch on drivers side of tailgate. the one that latches to the body. there is a switch with two blue wires to it. its a safety mechanism so you dont roll the window down or up while the tailgate is down. i spliced the ends together and threw the switch away.

    I’ve had the worst luck with my tailgate. I’ve literally spent about $1000 on it and still doesn’t work! Not even kidding. Question for you. It looks like you have a new regulator. Did you tighten all the bolts down hand tight all the way?
    My window doesn’t work and I noticed when I loosened the bolts on the regulator it kind of worked

    • @beneddy75
      @beneddy75  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My regulator is new and was tightened all the way. Maybe your side tracks are out of alignment.

    It didn’t work for me my wire just started s twisting itself instead of rolling the window down do you know a solution

    • @beneddy75
      @beneddy75  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If the drive cable is twisting but the window doesn't move, try moving the latch on drivers side like I did. If it still doesn't work and you have power to the motor, maybe the cable is seized inside. You may need to buy a new one.

    Ugh. Cringe when I see you pull the plug by the wire. Always pull from the base of the plug.

      Fixed mine today after 12 years!! 😂 My window would only go down also. The driver side latch has a safety switch that doesn’t allow you to roll it up unless the tailgate is closed. Even with mine closed it wouldn’t go up unless I pushed extremely hard on the tail gate to get the plunger switch to make contact. I tore the whole latch assembly apart and found that the rod of the plunger switch had slipped to the side of the latch and would not depress when the latch was closed. I bent the mounting bracket on the plunger switch which kicked the plunger rod back in line with the latch. Now when the latch hits the sticker, it depresses the plunger switch allowing the window to roll up FINALLY!
