Great job! I've started with the 3.0 hybrid and went on to the Shape Shift and love it. One first statement out of the box is if you intend to run lights/Lazer this system is not for you. One big selling point for me was the "Polymer" Shell over "Kydex". Less likely to wear on your metal frames and the adjustable retention on the trigger guard was great. The draw is always smooth with NO DRAG as on kydex and a positive lockup. As I have both a G19 Gen4 and a G26 Gen4 only one shell was needed, G19 only due to barrel length, it works for both. As I too have a belly, but love the Apendex holster at 4 o'clock. It is bulky and I would prefer a slide clip in the center of the shell to keep the clip centered on the platform for stability and reduce the outward bulk of the wrapping clip. Overall, the best Draw of any holster I've tried.
It seems like a great $100 option for ppl new to CC, who are still deciding what they like best. Once you get it dialed then go high end (or not!) it’s a lot better than spending $60 and finding out you don’t like appendix after all... I also like the shell being removable and the desk/wall mount options....
There are two screw holes on the half shell that someone could attach a clip directly to the clamshell. I don’t have the kit, I’ve only purchased the IWB part of the kit I’m very interested in the rest of the system. Pure genius design from Alien Gear
Well done review. I agree with the redesign of that clip, would definitely get rid of some bulk. Hopefully they watch this and at least test your idea.

My friend really digs his alien gear holster. I tried it and it is very comfortable. It is on par with my Nate squared tactical on comfort but is actually better on the draw stroke.
I'm not sure I follow you on that one. Belts can be slid over but I don't think I would even need to do that with my belt. But maybe your right. Not sure since its not setup that way. Anyway. Thanks for commenting!
@@TheRealCobraBurnout what I'm saying is in the normal appendix carrywhere you want to put the belt loop would get in the way with your belt buckle. Now with the way you say you wear it a little bit differently it would work for you but in a normal appendix carry I don't think it would work as well. I just ordered my core kit and have not received it yet so I will play around with it when I get it. But I liked your video and it gives me a good idea what I'm going to be working with
Iv got a 9mm Walther PPQ M2 and im currently awaiting my Aliengear holster in the mail. Id also like to purches some Trijcon HD Night Sights for it as well. Does anyone know if it would still fit in the holster or not with the new sights installed? From what i can tell they are just very slightly taller than the stock 3 dot sights.

On occasion. I've put on weight so I honestly find myself carrying my LC9 more. thinner and more comfortable to carry. I use a Vedder IWB light tuck holster that I had for it. th-cam.com/video/3qUo152BhGU/w-d-xo.html
TheRealCobraBurnout just try out one of the premium holster makers like Vedder or tier 1 and you will see the difference. Plus anything that’s a hybrid holster is an automatic no go for me. I liked your video btw, am just not a fan of the product

@@pillcosby3949 The ShapeShifter is not a hybrid as you probably mean it. The retention in not dependent on the soft backing. The shell totally encloses the trigger guard and retains the pistol on or off your body.
When I first got my Core Pack, I thought it was an innovative idea. Now, a year later and the whole set is in the box with the other holsters I don't use anymore. While it's great that you can make multiple holsters, it doesn't do any of them well.
@@bensno7690 A claw and wedge should be standard with all new designs. Maybe their next core pack will include them, but I won't be buying it. I just need one good holster at a time.
I agree with ya man. I'm about to get a light on my edc anyway so I'm thinkin about tryin the werkz m6. I'll use the outside the waist holsters maybe for camping and range but their aiwb isn't cutting it

Yes. You can install it on any trigger guard.

Your idea with moving the belt clip on the appendix holster wouldn't work. the belt clip would get in the way with the buckle on your belt.

What doesn't it do well? The IWB holsters are great. The OWB ones aren't worth a damn for concealment, but nice at the range.
