  • G'day friends. I'm really excited about this video. It's a project that started about 4 years ago with a large stringybark that came down in a storm out at the farm. I cut several hive sized lengths and lids from the tree and popped the blocks out of the middle with the chainsaw. Once back at the workshop I machined the logs into what you see today. A steel base was fabricated and fixed to the bottom and the long drying process began. The time is now right to get some bees inside. Many thanks to Steve from ‪@nativebeehives9333‬ for doing some camera work for me.
I hope you enjoy the video and I look forward to bringing you updates throughout the year.
As always, if you like the video give it the thumbs up and please consider subscribing to the channel if you're not already. Cheers

What continues to amaze me is how resilient these little guys (gals) are. Massive disruption to the brood one minute, next day business as usual. I guess that shows that in the wild they put up with all sorts of trauma from natural events and just have to adapt. Absolutely awesome log by the way.

Transfered x 4 nuc into 10 frames yesterday... nice italian ladies... the love tap of the stragglers in the nucs ended with 35 stings.... thats messy! Still beats hockingsi biting your nipples and buzzing in your ear.....
