We got along in the 70s, 80s and 90s because we did not have politicians telling us that we should not get along. Color that my opinion from a 56-year-old who has lived through it all.
That's real right there.. you said it all... wake up, young bucks... stop listenin' to their bs and keep it real... and together! Turn off the poison and turn on the KC!!! ^_^
INDEED we certainly did Baby! 😘 They tryin to separate us and it’s never gonna work! We love each other here and we built this country yes we did!
I grew up in the 60s and 70s, too. There was definitely plenty of racism. We had politicians who were in the KKK. Remember the busing riots? I lived in a town of about 50K in Florida and my high school had to shut the lunchroom down for the entire decade of the 70s due to race riots. We ate in our rooms. I think the one thing that was different in those days was an expectation that things would always be better tomorrow. Now we see all that racism and hatred that was hidden coming out of the woodwork because we have had leaders making them feel less ashamed to show it. This time the bulk of the hatred is aimed at LGBTQ+ and liberals in general, along with non-white immigrants. Jews and blacks are still in the mix as well. I no longer feel tomorrow will be better and that scares and saddens me. The music from the 70s to the 90s was something special. I like most music but I really love the 80s. I started liking rap in high school with The Sugar Hill Gang and Rapper's Delight. We are so luck today to have streaming so anyone can listen to anything. Listen to some Jazz and Swing from the 30s and 40s, some of that will get your feet tapping for sure. Thanks for the reaction, great song, great era.
I grew up in the 70s in a poor, racially mixed neighborhood. That kid doesn't recognize the world we live in today. I'm hopeful that through the music of the past, we can reconnect and see it is the powerful and rich that stoke racial tensions so we ignore how they are ripping everyone off and enriching themselves in the process. Life was so much easier back then, but then again, I was a kid - what did I know.
I remember when this song came out too. Back then if the music was good who cares what color they were we was still dancing.
Same.
Their music 🎶 is Universal!
You sound rather based to me.
@@MissouriJohnsonWho me?
I wanna live in KC's world where color doesn't matter, where we all just groove and love each other - THAT'S the way I liked it! The 70s and 80s were amazing! I miss those days so much...❤
Me too my daughters always tell me how lucky I was to be there and they are Right.
Nowadays we have politicians trying to separate people
I grew up in the 70s and 80s and wouldn't change it for anything....I feel so sorry for my kids and grandkids...so much hate now......people were people, it didn't matter! I miss those days!
Sweet! Me too Darling.
I Thank God everyday I was a teenager is the 70's!!
Me too!
I’m so envious of those that got to be teenagers in the 70’s, particularly during the 70’s disco era.
Yeah, we were dancing to this in the clubs back then 😂
“Shake, Shake, Shake Your Booty”…”Get Down Tonight”…”I’m Your Boogie Man”
Don't forget Keep it coming Love! 🙂
Get Down Tonight Studio Version PLEASE!
KC had the best rhythm section! He was the cream of the Miami Sound!!!
Yeah, the drummer was amazing. Along with the incidental percussion.
You are so cute and funny dancing with the broom!! Yes, we ALL were cleaning and jamming on Saturday morning - getting ready for the party Saturday night!! This music is the soundtrack of my High School days and I'm still jamming to it at 63!! Yes, thank the Lord that I still can!! My cousin who was just born when this song came out (1975) has been touring with KC and the Sunshine Band for the past 10 years as a singer/dancer (they were just at the Fox in Atlanta)!! This music is funky and soulful for ALL generations and races!!
KC & THE SUNSHINE BAND are from Miami which is a pretty diverse city itself so the band reflects that.
My mom, an immigrant from Germany, used to go round our house cleaning, and she’d sing “that’s the way I like it, uh huh, uh huh” lol over and over.
Sometimes I think people got along better in the day.
I think if musicians ran the world, we wouldn't have all these race problems. ❤️✌️
But they are too smart for politics.
They did.
Their hit songs: “Shake, Shake, Shake Your Booty”…”Get Down Tonight”…”I’m Your Boogie Man” ... "Keep it Coming Love" and 2 softer songs: Please Don't Go. KC and Teri DeSario duet, Yes I'm Ready.
I am digging those flared pantsuits! And nobody plays trumpet and trombone like his band these days. Somebody bring this back! It's such fun music!
This is great feel good music and you can clean the house in double time. So fun!!
That one brother that plays sax looks like Warf from Star Trek came back in time and joined KC's band...
You are on fire son!!!
I just found you and I'm glad I did. I love your reactions. The pure joy you find in the music. Keep it up.
Yeah it's amazing wat drugs can do to you
every single man and woman alone in their own.... doin' it just as you were!!! I'm 50 and git down to the groove!! my dog gets all kindsa jumpy right along with me!!! You wanna deep education on old r&b, soul, rock and roll and a feel you cannot get anywhere else on earth? 2013's documentary Muscle Shoals on Amazon Prime Video. The cameos and commentary list reads like a old Limp Bizkit video... Break SHIT. WHich you need to react to as well.... ! you will fuckin' LOVE IT
I never thought about it when I was into it in the 70s..just loved it. Now it's so amazing it's a trip. He still makes me tingle
You just found out your grandparets were pretty cool.Nice reaction.Share this music with other young people.
Loved the clubs back in the day.
KC- I'm your boogie man is lit!!!
Shit bro you got my old azz up dancing with ya. I remember when this came out I was probably 9 or 10. This was a banger. All over the radio.
I was the same age. Born in Jan 1970. Nothing hits you like the music from your childhood and teen years. ❤
Soundtrack of my life! We saw no “color” just people and fun!
You are a trip! I am an 81 year old white gal who thinks you are a joy. God is so good for giving you good health and a joy for life. Respect yourself and make a good life for yourself and thank God for His many blessings to you every day. I wish I could hug you, you are so sweet.
😂 I had the biggest crush on KC back in the day!! 😂 Memory lane again!
All the girls did. ❤️
yep me too I crushed on him too😂😂❤❤
I've really enjoyed sitting in with you today, You seem to be high on life, just as I am, of course I've burned a few also this morning, but that doesn't change the fact that I just love being alive and sharing this moment with you and everyone else that is sitting in with you! Great reaction young man! Keep them coming!
You’re damn right they don’t make music like this anymore
A great hit in the seventies, and to dance on in the disco. Those were the days. 🎶🎶🎶👍
Funk level has reached defcon 1!
Someone should open a Club and name it after the 70’s , 80’s and 90’s hits …..and just play all this great music !
You got my dance vibe going here
💃💃💃💃💃💃🤣😅🤣😅😅😅
All peace and love within music 🎶 ❤
Bad ass group! I’m a Rock fan, so I didn’t link with Disco music that much when it first came out but, when I was old enough to go to Clubs and Bars (around 1980), that’s when I understood the genre better. I got into dancing (I’m a drummer, so that tracks, plus the babes!) and Disco/dancing music was a vibe I tapped into. That said, I was still a big Rock fan, I look at KC&TSB as an “Arena Disco” band! That means their music was so big-sounding and popular that it should be on an Arena tour, back in the day! I think they were playing the big venues like The Capital Center (D.C.), The Spectrum (Philly) and MSG in NY. Awesome!
bro, that was such a fun time! They talk about "diversity" now days, hell, we had that long time! No one talks about that.....check out Mothers Finest. many others, and was Good Music! No digital anything, no auto tune...was Best time ever
I love it when 'youngsters' find out what real music is all about, Bought their 1st album on Vinyl "Do It Good" back in the 70's one of the funkiest bands there is, this is music
Thank you! You warmed my heart to see you get soooo involved with this song! K. C. was extremely special to the dance & music of that time! He made everyone Boogie!
We were grooving to KC back in our disco days. I know I was at 17 😁. "Get down tonight" next
Grew up listening all these great grooves. "The Boogie Man!" Yeah!
Omg- Lmao!! You crack me up!! You're definitely one of my favorite reactor's!! Your positive vibes and you seriously make me laugh out loud. I rewatch you when I'm down. Thank u!! Please check out Elvis, Stranger in my Own Hometown Xrated Version, Never Been to Spain Live and Pink...Live at Grammys Glitter in the Air or AMA's Beautiful Trauma.
Definitely..😄😁😄🥰
You need to check out “I’m your Boogie Man”, “boogie shoes”, “Get down tonight”, “Shake shake shake your booty” And there’s many more!!
I like" Boogie shoes" by KC and the Sunshine band!
What a fun reaction!! Thank you!
Hey, Sceez - I'm old, so back in the day, the HS dance team I was on had a routine to "Get Down tonight" - and somehow it became an "issue" - so we were told a week before performing that we couldn't do it.. it was "suggestive" -- so us kids were a bit panicked, but our coaches said "don't worry" - so we did our routine to THIS song.. same rhythm - and nobody had time to object - the funny thing to me was this song seems much more "suggestive" - lol...
I grew up 60’s and 70’s and I listened to music such as Parliament, Earth Wind and Fire Pink Floyd and more
More KC and the band please. So try the tune “I’m Your Boogie Man”!!!!! So asks Austin Tx!!!! 😎🍸
This is the most entertaining Reaction video on TH-cam! 😂🤣 LOVED your reaction because you totally get it! Growing up hearing this in the background of your life at some point just leaves that deep impression and then the vocals, music, horns, drums, it just has this sound that lifts your soul! No one really gets it better than the impression made when you’re a child though those who know great music can feel it. So love this video!!
“Where the feel good, good tunes at?” “They don’t make music like this no mo!” I get it! 😂
Hello from Cody Wyoming you're awesome keep it up😊
If I weren't so old you could dance with me instead of that broom! lol Great reaction!
I like your comments about not realizing he was a white dude but loving the diversity of the band and comparing it to modern day but it made me think of Elvis Presley man I think you could almost argue that he set the pattern for that. At least for somebody that was really well known at a time when a lot of people hated him for it and he just went ahead and did it anyway. Again I've only been around for a couple days so I can't remember if you ever acted in any Elvis yet. But anyway man this is a total jam, love your energy, but I'll tell you what man one of my favorites ever was I'm your Boogie man. And that one also has kind of a live video just like this. And it's worth watching that version they're packed onto a much smaller stage but they're still rocking out including all the horn players and everything. It's just beautiful.
That horn section is killin' it!!😍
Ivory brother 🤣
Very entertaining young man, you put a smile on my face
Glad you like the oldies, and positive music
Get rid of toxic peeps
I don't think you've done Nazareth yet. Can you react to their song " Hair of the Dog" love your energy!
Now he's messing with the son of a bitch!
PTSD!!!! hahahaha.. man, you trippin !!! ^_^ This is the best reaction to KC I've seen ! This was the SHIT, back in the day ! Picture little kids on the playground in Miami singing this and groovin! Cause is EXACTLY what was going on!! In the hood, we did it like that !! Love to you, brother! KC !! Keep it Comin, LOVE !!! ^_^
We need a dance party with Sceez for sure!
One of my favourites is 'Queen of Clubs'. I believe he also wrote 'rock your baby' for George McCrae, a number one in the UK in 1974
Man this brings back memorys!
I was 7 and man i loved this 45!!
We are alike in many ways cause we all came from the same place. Just human beings.
KC makes me wanna dance.
OS makes me wanna dance and sweep! I'm laughing and happy watching this🤣 Gotta go clean house now
Saw them in the70's Disco days. KC is the white dude playing piano
Omg..back at ya.. you're a youngin I could tolerate. Luv that broom
Tha jam!
I love watching you enjoying music... it's the best ... It was always Saturday morning cleaning at my house and it was Elvis with my mom
Yes sir! More please. Damn now I gotta go clean my house 😂
Shout out to the ladies
🔥💃🏽🔥💃🏽🔥
That dude on the trumpet going insane lol
So many of our bands had mixed races. I love Eric Burdon and War playing together.
When this comes on & I groove to it, my 19 & 17 yr old sons want to throw up! Lol. It annoys me so much that their musical tastes are still limited. (Though finally 17 yr old is getting in to some older music now). 70s I was a kid & it’s my favourite decade!!
I graduated from high school in 1972, so this music is right up my alley! This and the '60s. Even my 29 year old daughter knows some of this music thanks to me, and she likes some of it. She told me once that she didn't like some of the music from the 2000s as much because she thought it had gone downhill. Sbe listens to a lot of Latin artists since she has 50% Hispanic heritage. Those musicians make good music 😊
Other songs by KC & The Sunshine Band: "Shake Your Booty", "I'm Your Boogie Man", "Boogie Shoes", "Sound Your Funky Horn", "Keep It Comin' Love." Then there's KC without the band singing "Give It Up."
I was born 8n the 60's we did not separate music. If it was great, we listened to it. No matter the race.
Gets out the broom! We all cleaning to this song 🧹
You’re right they don’t make feel good music like this anymore
Yes, you are on fire!
Obviously you do want to hear it but when you grow up around it that's the kind of music you love
You said it..its SOUL MUSIC.. I'm my opinion there no such thing as disco...its soul/r&b/ funk/ dance... the backlash was largely in part fueled by homophobia...I absolutely love soul music and listen to it everyday ❤
Next: I’m your boogie man.
Yep K.C was the " Ivory bro playing the keyboard"
Boogie shoes is another banger with a groove to it
Loved the cleaning dance. You just created a new dance. That's the way I like it....keep on cleaning.
Such fun
Omg..get down brother!!
KC looks like Jim Carrey in this video, that's makes even more fun.
Keep playing old music, they're my jams.
I was 15 in 1975
02:04 ivory! I thought so too!
Our house cleaning music was Otis Redding!!
❤️
chaka Khan her band was named RUFUS they are made yp of many races as well
Yeeeessssss !!!!!
The thumbnail drew me in 😂
You should try out Wild Cherry's Play that Funky Music
👍👍💯❤️🔥🔥
❤!
It’s weird but back in the 1970s we were less concerned about black and white. Today seems to be more racist and divided than it was back then. We were United by the music. It’s sad how tribal we are today. Must be the internet
I remember reading that K. C. is of Native American descent....
This dude is funny!
Lol this was my moms cleaning music. I knew i was going to wake up to a chor of dusting the furniture before outside time
KC' s last job before getting on In Living Color
Eyes wide
Your mom taught you right!!
If you like diversity check out WAR. Cisco Kid is my favorite but the have a bunch of hits!
If your mom was listening to KC, KooL and Wild Cherry etc. she's cool AF
