Someone said in a comment I read that said ... "back in the day, if you couldn't sing, you didn't". I love that and it's so true. Back then, everyone in the group sang and played an instrument, and usually wrote their own music. They played and sang, not for the money or fame but because they loved the music and they loved to play and sing it. The guitar solo in Hotel California came about because Don Felder played that first riff one day, thought it sounded good so he recorded it so not to forget it. When they started putting the song together, Don Henley and Glen Frey were writing the lyrics but the guitar solo was a product of Don Felder and Joe Walsh just bouncing off each other. They evidently did this a lot and they turned out one of the best guitar solos of all time. Talent, pure and simple.

YES SIR! I grew up then too. Those were the days. There was so much fun to be had. People and things were so much simplier, and easier. More love, compassion, and less animosity. Good, and real music was everywhere. We used to dance, and party till the birds were chirping. Sometimes, we would actually walk home with no fear. I wouldn't trade those days, or memories for anything. Alas, the World has changed..not for the better.

Yes, yes.... wonderful memories of dancing a the disco til we were covered with sweat! Lots of lights, loud music that you could feel in your chest. What was really awesome was, we were white, black, brown, and no one gave an "f". We dance with each other, never saw color. We just wanted to drink, dance and have fun. Too bad we can't bring that back today.

Was such a great time to grow up in. I was in my mid 20's with a new truck a good kid and no responsibilities. Fun time was out looking for you every night, you didn't have to go looking for it plan anything. It just showed up. Everybody respected and loved everyone else & recognized when another had a different way to go and respected it and blessed them on their way. This proved that Life can be good

I was in my early 20’s at that time. After all the chaos of the 60’s music and dance became fun. Couple disco dancing was a great night at the clubs. Glad you appreciate the sounds of my life.

Those were the fun days. We danced the Bump to this. It was all about dancing, music and having a good time doing so. It was great!

Please ck out the band from Funk Rock GA, Mothers Finest - Baby Love , Piece of the Rock, or Fire. Used to listen to them around Atlanta in the 70's & 80's - lead singer "Baby Jean" Kennedy is the Bomb!

I actually was roller skating to this back in the 1970s! Every Friday night at Skateland! Great times!
By the way Jai, you look absolutely beautiful, young lady!

What Skateland ? We would skate at a Skateland in Fairborn Ohio early mid 70s and the USA United skates of America in Springfield Ohio I was there the very first all night skate when 3000 people tried to get in and the fire marshal shut them down at 1000 people I made it to the doors and they turned us away minutes after I got knocked down and stepped on by a young crazy crowd and was really scared I was probably 7 or 8 years old great memories! We would skate for 3 dollars from 7 at night to 7 the next morning!!!!

@@ronaldknisley9792 This was in the Baltimore area. Friday nights were incredibly popular there back in the 70s. The line to get in would wrap around the building! I always stayed for the 2nd session... the late night session. A lot of people had cleared out by then, so it wasn't as crazy!

I was 18 and working at an A&W when this was a hit. We changed the words to “I’m your burger man”. We thought we were so clever, lol.
