Wow! Grand Canyon R2R in 2 days for a first backpacking trip is pretty intense! She's definitely a keeper. That walk through the Red Walls is still one of my favorites, but it's too bad you missed Ribbon Falls. That whole area back there is really neat. Thanks for sharing your trip with us, I really enjoyed this video.
Robert ... here's my heartfelt suggestion: "not 'in one day,' but five." Yes, do it in October. (We often planned things to be in "Phantom" Ranch on Halloween ... "boo!!") Late spring is another good time. Summer is N-O-T. Day one: take the shuttle to North Rim, camp in the campground, feast at the lodge. Day two: descend to Cottonwood and stop there overnight. (Now, you can take as long as you like at Ribbon Falls and Roaring Springs.) Stick your toes in the creek. Day three: on to Phantom. There's an interesting if steep trail up to north Tonto ... drop your backpack, take your day-pack full of water, and explore it a little but be back in time for dinner! Day four: up to Indian Gardens and camp there, taking the evening hike (bring your flashlight) out to Plateau Point to watch the sunset. Day five: hike out and buy well-earned swag at the many gift shops after lunching at El Tovar. Anything that says, "I HIKED THE CANYON RIM-TO-RIM" is fair game because, by gawd, you just did. Along the way; USE GOOKINAIDE (an electrolyte replacement powder) in your water bottles. This will completely avoid muscle cramps. Carry plenty of bottles: it's great to finish your day's hike with one full bottle that you never cracked into. Carry a bottle IN YOUR HAND, and take a sip anytime you think about it. Wear a broad-brimmed solid (canvas) sun hat, not just a baseball cap. Consider a LONG-sleeved white T-shirt. When you plan your trip this way, you AREN'T "rushed." When you encounter something that looks interesting, you can stop and really look at it. And this makes ALL the difference. While this might be your first time to do this hike, I assure you that it will not be your last. (We hiked the Corridor at least 26 times over many years, and enjoyed every trip in a completely different way.)
Awesome job guys! Me and my Dad meet you while waiting outside the Bright Angel Lodge for the shuttle! We were from Louisiana. So cool to see your hike from a different perspective!
Amazing! I watched another video where the guy attached his GoPro to the top of his walking stick. Is that how you were able to record your video too? The stabilization seems great.
Nice. No better place than bright angel camp for an anniversary, magic down there.

Thank you, Robert! I also suggest not doing it all in one day so you can enjoy the Canyon longer!
awesome bro!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!
Thank you, Mike!

@@TheAdventurePursuit it was great!! Ready to do it again but this time in Winter!

Devil's Corkscrew in the summer. That'll test you.
I can only imagine!
You’re not in Kansas anymore, or in your case, Arkansas. Beautiful country!
That is right!

Yes! The GoPro Hero 8 Black!
I actually only had it on a device call the "Go Stick". The newer GoPro's have amazing stabilization!
