Marshalltown is all I use for patching and I use my rod saw to put teeth in my trowels for VCT, linoleum and glue down carpet

Uzin 888. Typically the first pass is the ramp with a notch in the trowel for the correct height. Then it's a regular patching trowel to smooth everything out and extend the ramp out for a smooth transition.
