Forbo linoleum
Great video
You you forget how to walk for a sec 😂
There should be a flooring union brotherhood
Beautiful 😍
Too much water in the patch.
No sir. We use measuring buckets. No guess work involved.
It's Perfect..Nice work🎯
Always interesting to see different ideas
Absolutely. There are many ways to do things and to know more than one is great. Never know when you're going to need it.
It’s. That. Scott. Parks. From. Triwest ?
Good. Am. Goin. To. Try. That. On. Cove. Base. And. Mdf baseboards !
Bof trop de temps perdu
Not bad for a homeowner to do but if you thank you’re gonna do though that on a big job on every corner, you will be most likely fired time is money and you forgot to take the thickness of the product off. That’s why your corners were first buckling.
Boom something too listen tomorrow on drive!!
Have you tried Turbo’s L nozzle for welding flash cove?
Uzin is amazing. I did a whole gym slab with it. 8000 ft
That has the consistency of a Feather Finish product. The "snots" seem to be lumps left from a dirty bucket. No criticism, it happens to me too.
What the fuck are you wearing a helmet? This is useless in this place
I actually used to cut sheet metal to straighten corners. This is the first time I’ve heard of anyone else doing this. Your version is easier
and what are you using to fix it with to the the plaster?
I’ve been using pressure sensitive tape, with a few staples for peace of mind.
That is an awesome trick I will definitely be using. What do you use to secure it?
Dealers sell 3.2mm rigid core products which are low quality, installers aren't doing enough floor prep. These 3.2mm products are giving the rest of the lvp industry a bad name because they don't hold up. Installer error is a huge issue, patch is not used when needed, plywood joints aren't getting sanded, no one seems to pull a level out of the truck to check subfloors. I am a fan of WPC products like Adura Max and Coretec Plus, we sell them all day long and they don't have any call backs. Rigid core plank today is to made to brittle today, they don't hold up like wpc products. My opinion is WPC core is the best of the best.
There is definitely not enough prep done. We don't do too much residential, but I've had a lot of installers say they like WPC best as well. Have you seen Mohawks new product? Pure Tech
Nice!
I would be interested to see how you addressed the missing half of that outside corner. I’m looking for a good quick way to prep damaged inside/outside corners. You guys do great work!
What do you use to take out the extra grout? And what do you do about the tile to the far left, looks like behind a toilet, where it is lower than the tile beside it?
We've got something coming for you! works on inside AND outside corners
Our scope wasn't the hard tile, but they have a caulking company that typically comes in after us and seals everything up. We are typically using a 4 inch scraper or a five way to scrape along the bottom, could also use a utility knife to ride the bottom.
@@PreferredFlooringMI I’m looking forward to it! I’ve used different style drywall corner bead with mixed results. I have been actively looking for the perfect material for months now. Also just got my stubby mini cove and edge that’s waiting for my next cove job to try out.
Great job. Blessings and Love in Jesus Christ Holy name 🙏. John.3:16 in the Bible says for God, so love the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life, for God, sent not his son into the world to condemn the world, but the save the world through him
Happy new year
Happy new year!!!!
Have a good 2024 🎉🎉🎉
I love your profile
You too!
Marshalltown is all I use for patching and I use my rod saw to put teeth in my trowels for VCT, linoleum and glue down carpet
You notch your own trowels?
Iron sharpens iron the Bible says. I’ve been in business for 24 years installing all aspects of Commercial Flooring.
Quality First.
th-cam.com/video/KkUXWnfjc6A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=x9QVgtPD3oRONKtU This how we do flooring in uk
What patch were you using? And was the first pass same patch as the second one? Thanks
Uzin 888. Typically the first pass is the ramp with a notch in the trowel for the correct height. Then it's a regular patching trowel to smooth everything out and extend the ramp out for a smooth transition.
I offer clients a small credit to keep, and recycle the lvp boxes.
Where is your six inch putty knife
That was in the first coat video

Awesome
Anyone who thinks this tool is not the way to do it does not care about quality. Grant it-as an hourly installer I am paid to do quality above all else.
It's better to learn a fool proof way than to hack away until you get it!
"promo sm" 😁
Great video! Would that same template work for linoleum? Linoleum cracks very easily, so I don't know how close you can push the material down to make contact with the template without it cracking
I think it would if you just make it a little longer.
Keep grinding pal. Employ a company like SMZeus!!!
Just did a cove job with 13 foot vinyl and for the most part it was easy enough to cut it but my teacher taught me how to full scribe incase I needed to with a stiffer product like forbo. But I really like this method and I'm going to try! Whatever is easiest and makes you feel comfortable to get a good install is all that matters. And taking pride in your work!!! Great video
It's all in having multiple options when installing. Not everything fits every situation, so you take what you need and use it when you need it! Thanks for the support!
So I tried this today on an Altro job, the altro was pretty thick close to 3/16 if I remember correctly, but instead of making the template I put a key mark on the floor and measured to the key and to my seam and got my lines that way then to keep it from being too tight I just cut out the thickness of the material on one side but overall same result and process. #Tradesecrets 🤑🤐
I really hate 13 ft
I prefer to pattern scribe. Make your pattern, glue then cut your pattern while the glue is drying, drop it on the key mark and youre done. Much more efficient, no dry fitting and all that. Of course, you can drop it in the glue and still knife it in, but i dont like to knife in tight spaces. Not worth the time for production.
There's definitely more than one way to do things and I'm glad you found a way that works for you!
Solid work bro but don’t the pro knees hurt when wearing shoes. I gotta wear boots my soft feet can’t handle it lol 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Better the tops of my feet than my knees!
I dig it. Ak floor slayers LLC Alaska installation company commercial mostly cove sheet vinyl hometown Las Vegas NV I fly all over Alaska taking the money how do I get in on that Las Vegas January 2nd looks fun.
They don’t have resilient this year. We would love to see you out there though!
We going to see you out there?
Dumb question from someone who is relatively new in the trade: If your Leister welding gun is a manual (older) version with settings from 0-9 which setting do you have it on that equates 750F?
It depends on the tip and airflow coming out. A Majority of the time it's more of what you feel comfortable at than actual recommended temps. I would start around 4 and work up or down from there.
@@PreferredFlooringMI Great! It's probably the answer I was hoping for 👌. I hover around 3.5 to 4. Two more experienced colleagues advised me to work with 5, but I feel that the weld melts way too fast at 5. Thanks for the reply.
I loved it, every episode I have listened to is great. keep doing what you are doing you guys are making a difference.
Thanks! We need to get you to come on some episodes as well!
Why would new wall paint peel after someone installed for me
No sanding of old paint, cleaning the wall or primer before the new paint went on most likely
Awesome!! Very cool! THanks for sharing!
Glad you liked it!
I used this method in one room out of 7 last week. Kinda mixed results but I was alone doing it. Strip measuring was a bit more precise tho probably time consuming as well
Just another tool for the toolbox. More than one way to do things, it's all in what you find most comfortable.
Good way. To. Do it. A. Different way. To. Do it. Good. Job. Salutes. From. A. Flooring. Guy. Here.
Always great to know multiple ways to do it!
