So sorry you hate your Crosstrkek. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MINE!!! Quiet, smooth, comfortable ride, easy to drive, excellent gas mileage. I have the Premium and have not been this HAPPY and SATISFIED in years.
I have a ‘22 Crosstrek Limited and I am so happy with it. I’m not sure why your BT is bad, no complaints from me or people I speak to. Lane keep is awesome and makes cruise control driving almost an auto-drive. Interior and leather is beautiful.
Thank you for the honest review. I think the road noise and the Bluetooth would drive me crazy. Probably going to go with a 2013 Lexus LS which is about the same price as one of these.
I have a ‘22 Premium model and have a little different opinion on the vehicle although I agree with you in a couple areas. The Bluetooth is horrible. I strictly use apple car play for hands free talking. I also have noticed that the wind blows the car around some. Other than that I am very pleased with the vehicle. I have zero rattles, and I find the adaptive cruise and lane keep works amazing. I don’t experience any ping pong effect between the lanes. The ride quality is great and I am consistently exceeding EPA #s on fuel economy. It’s very remarkable that a full-time AWD vehicle with 8.7” of ground clearance can get 35mpg or better. I also agree the engine can be rough sounding especially on a cold start but I have owned Subarus in the past and this seems to be the norm for a Subaru boxer engine. I also appreciate the design engineering that went into the body of the car making it a 5 star crash test result vehicle and a top safety pick by the IIHS. Overall I am very happy with my Crosstrek and for the money I feel the vehicle is an “over achiever” in capability, tech, safety, ride, fuel economy, & seating comfort. 🤷♂️ I’m sure it depends what you drove prior to the Crosstrek on how your opinions are formed. (Previously I had a ‘14 Buick Verano & a ‘21 Toyota Tacoma SR5.)
I may have just got a bad build as mentioned in the video; I know the factories are stressed with Covid. I would recommend test driving a 2019+ Honda CRV or by the looks of it a 23+ Honda HRV. My 2019 and 2021 CRV were much larger vehicles with full time AWD and achieved greater real world fuel economy for me (6.7 vs 7.8 L/100km). The Subaru is a lot cheaper but, it think this is a case of you get what you pay for. Lots of little things that the competition does better In my opinion like the keyless entry actually locks if you walk away from the vehicle. I may revisit them once they have a major update, looks like 2024. They do have crazy good resale so that is a highlight!
@@Mark-gq5vl I’ve always respected Honda’s quality until the 1.5 turbo oil dilution issues in the CRV. Not a fan of the looks of the new HRV. Nice chatting with you!
@@Mark-gq5vl I think the CR-V is a completely different animal, in that case a comparisson with the HRV would make much more sense. But the AWD in the Subaru is in another league, and to me the boxer engine makes it different than any other market offerings. This versatility is what sets the Crosstrek appart IMO and I wouldn't trade it for the world! Sorry you got a bad lot, hope you are able to fix it soon. And I do agree, infotainment and Bluetooth are the weak point of an otherwise amazing car!
Thank your for your review. I have always owned hondas but I am thinking of buying a subaru crosstrek for my next vehicle. This review along with the other comments are definitely helpful. The bluetooth and pushing around in the wind would definitely drive my crazy.
I just reserved a 2023 crosstrek limited and it’s beautiful, quiet and has quite a bit of get up and go compared to the new Honda HRV and the inside is very nice with led some lights and led road lights that turn with you. I like the options it comes with. Maybe it was just your vehicle. So sorry you had a bad experience with it. I hope you love your next car.
How are you liking it 3 months later?? I ordered a 23 limited that should arrive in 2 weeks. Super excited but there aren't many reviews out on the 23 which is unfortunate.
@@alyssamartinez4412 I love it even more! I just received my feature review at the dealer as I had not had time for it. I love what it can do and does even more. I'm waiting for the car market to become sane again before buying a Crosstrek for my wife. Glad you're getting into a car you like better. My Subaru Legacy is super quiet (probably because it's on the Outback platform with a 3.6L flat 6)
AWD, well reviewed, seemed like an acceptable replacement for a Honda CRV based on reviews. No one seemed to mention how cheap the interior feels and how poor it drives in the wind. Mix in the terrible lane keep assist and Bluetooth and I couldn’t keep it long term. One highlight is that I was able to get more than I paid for it due to the crazy current market.

We got a 2023 crosstrek hybrid The hybrid was not our intent more that the car had a great reputation w people that had one features such x drive the eyes which came as a package. For our driving style and age it fits we had it for four months not broken in yet. So far so good, the hybrid regeneration feature has give us over 30 miles all electric. Recently stopped charging it to burn gas that was in the tank over three months. Also like that I can plug it in to a 120 to charge over night. For town and city great car highway mileage even hybrid not great ,33 to 36.
Since I wrote above things have changed, maybe getting broken in, hybrid mileage based on mileage between fill ups 39.4 mpg. If I charge fully the mpg feature of car after going into hybrid showing up to 70.2 mpg. Fact I still have up to five gallons of gas from the day we drove the car off the lot in mid oct 2022. I still get over 20 miles electric must be through regenerative feature. One yellow flag when charging make heat shut off. Overall exceeds specs. I drove primarily local w some highway but even local 35 to 45 mile speed limits.
I got a 2021 Crosstrek sport. I got it just about when winter broke. I was never stuck in snow or ICE. The car is classy and would compete with higher priced car . It is high enough to cross flooded streets. I like it just as he does.
Too bad about your Canadian Crosstrek. I have a last gen 2023 Subaru Crosstrek/XV German spec'd and everything you mentioned that sucks work perfectly on mine. I have the Exclusive model with the 4 cameras upfront and three just for lane and distant/braking assist. My auto shifter looks a lot better than yours, also I have more buttons on my consol than yours does. My display screen for the radio is also larger. The draw back with the German versions of the XV (they still called them XV's until the end of 2023) is the engines. You could either get a 2.0i-eBoxer motor 150hp or the regular 1.6i-boxer 114hp. No 2.5i. The 3rd gen Crosstrek was just released here with just one motor variant so far and that is an updated 2.0i-eBoxer with 136hp....
