In Canada, as any other E-Bikes, the Powerplay speed is limited to 32 km/h. Therefore you will feel a very strong resistance reaching that speed if you are still pedaling, since the motor will turn off. I could say that it is a security concern, because that sudden resistance could unbalance the rider. I read somewhere that that speed restriction is even lower in Europe where it would be regulated to 25 km/h.

The motor pumps out over 20nm more than the Levo so of course it’s going to use more battery. That’s the sacrifice you make for more power.

In February my Rocky Mountain altitude power play battery exploded in my garage and burned the entire garage down to the tune of about 350,000. The bike was not plugged into the charger it was just sitting there. Rocky Mountain hired a big law firm and now they have zero contact, they won't even return an email even though their fire cause analysis investigator stated that the bike started the fire.

Crazy, Sorry to hear about your loss. Hopefully your lawyer can work it out. Pretty rare for lithium batteries to catch fire when they aren't being charged/discharged. I am always learly of brands like norco who use 2nd rate batteries (non oem to the motor) for this reason.

Too bad about your Canadian Crosstrek. I have a last gen 2023 Subaru Crosstrek/XV German spec'd and everything you mentioned that sucks work perfectly on mine. I have the Exclusive model with the 4 cameras upfront and three just for lane and distant/braking assist. My auto shifter looks a lot better than yours, also I have more buttons on my consol than yours does. My display screen for the radio is also larger. The draw back with the German versions of the XV (they still called them XV's until the end of 2023) is the engines. You could either get a 2.0i-eBoxer motor 150hp or the regular 1.6i-boxer 114hp. No 2.5i. The 3rd gen Crosstrek was just released here with just one motor variant so far and that is an updated 2.0i-eBoxer with 136hp....

It really is one of the best bikes out there. I absolutely love mine. Upgraded the tires and I got a chip so that I don't run into that stupid 20 mile an hour limit. It makes a big deal when you're ripping down trails. Although I'm rarely ever going over 25.

I’ve recently sold a 2020 status 160 and bought a 2021 Stumpjumper comp alloy. The status was an absolute pig to pedal on any surface as the rear shock soaked up all the energy. With the correct PSI the sag was still enough to cause a lot of pedal strikes. In comparison the SJ has a sleeker looking frame and definitely a lot more pedal efficient than the 160. I considered getting a 140 status, but I’d imagine there wouldn’t be a night a day difference. I don’t ride down hill tracks, mostly single track with technical rocky climbs and tree roots. The SJ makes more sense.

I spoke with my local shop recently, who I’m good friends with the owner and asked about any new specialized bikes coming out for 2024, changes, etc. He told me that specialized doesn’t give much notice until shortly before launching and he’s not privy to any special info until shortly before launch. It’s all just assumptions/rumours as they’re pretty tight-lipped until launch.

The easiest way in the vehicle is to look at the charge recommendation screen. If you are looking at a car in inventory or on a lot to buy, the teslatap VIN decoder can tell based on the cars VIN number too; If you are in Canada and the Vin starts with a LRW it is a China build and has one.
