@@cyanbug3021 I said nothing about effort. But it is likely slop... ok, not really. But mass produced trash is everywhere and has always been even before AI.
I won't lie and say ai art is as passion filled as regular art, but it is not inherently bad as you and other seems to believe. Sure, it doesn't take years of effort, and often looks awful, but I will still die on the hill that it has some value.
I play around with midjourney a lot, and some of the stuff I have made (for the lack of a better term) has value to me. And that is the point of art, in my honest opinion.

i'm pretty sure the thing at 9:45 is one of the default mannequin characters packaged with Unreal Engine (used to test games with a set of animations and character models to see how things work).

I feel like the issue here is analagous to something like Word Art or PowerPoint. If you're a non-designer and don't know the principles of design, you come across the design toolbars in PowerPoint and think you have to use ALL THE THINGS when you're putting together something, and it comes out looking like your 5 year old came across your Bedazzling supplies and then applied them all to the family dog. There's nothing to stop you from using all the tools at once because you feel like you have to, and then because you have pride of authorship and use you used all these design tools, you think the final product is amazing even though it's as coherent a design as a Bedazzled labradoodle.
Everything Rufus has done smacks of this mentality. Easy access to "design tools" through AI meant that he can basically write his uninspired, mobile game-tier fantasyland story, design characters using a Midjourney knockoff, "animate" it using a tool that only recognizes faces, and apply superfluous and distracting effects like the lightning, fog (I guess?) and Dragonball Z-grade glow effects, and then publish it to an echo chamber audience that licks the boot of anything AI, where it immediately gets some kind of praise because most of these people are all doing the same things.
tl;dr: AI is just a design tool that cons untalented people into thinking they are much better creators than they actually are.

I admit, as someone who doesn't dislike AI, a lot of the pro-ai stuff is insufferable and stupid.
No, it is not the second coming of christ, it is just a neat new technology that can do some incredible but terrifying things. Like this new sora stuff... holy fuck.
Cinematic universes are bad on their own
I think the issue is they just use AI as it is and not as a tool to create something. Sort of like taking a paint brush and just using it to paint a wall. You're not necesarrily using it to create art your just using it as its designed. Art is how you use tools, the choices you make, your intentions, not just the bare output of the tool. AI will facilitate some amazing artistics works one day but this aint it chief. Someone with genuine creativity is going to have to use it to get something worthwhile out.
