My pleasure. I love the art of perfumery more then anything. I am blessed to of found my calling in life. I know you feel the same to. It brings me much joy to sample another artist who loves there work as much as I do. You really can tell when there is an artist rather then marketing demanding cost over art.! I hope you enjoyed the in-dept review I did of your hard work. I look forward to trying more of your work. I only do positive reviews so I will be going to try your work in Selfridges and seeing which ones I love so I can recommend them to my viewers.
Another one I can't wait to hear a review of is "Danger". It is masterfully blended and not too sweet. I get more of an aura than individual notes. I love that about it.
Kudos to you for acknowledging your statement of the last Roja review, mr. Hughes! Your reviews are some of my favorites. Looking forward to getting some of your fragrances (impossible to buy in South America).
Just got it and love it. It draws me in through its strong projection. I get essenses of TF Tobacco Vanille, Noir Extreme, Fahrenheit Parfum, La Nuit de l’Homme, and just a touch of pear, bergamot and blood orange. Absolutely fantastic sent for fall/winter. A cornucopia truly.
Important notes here are anisic anethole and ginger for coke, green cognac, animalic musks, ionones, cinnamons, vanille and unexpected amber materials. Thank you. I love your review
Really glad to learn more about this fragrance, was thinking about buying this and this helps a lot. But the picture shown for this video is the enigma pour homme parfum which goes for 450£ for 50ml, the price you mentioned is the parfum cologne. Love your videos, hope to see more parfums de marly in the future ❤️
My 48th birthday is coming up and im in a quandary between this one and Ambre Nuit, both different but i believe both appropriate for what i want to say about myself in a fragrance. Great review as always!
I appreciate the time you spent breaking this one down, there is always something I learn from each review. And now that Roja is off the "naughty list," we have to get a review of Roja's Scandal Pour Homme. I would love to learn what base materials were used in it that one.
I was a bit taken aback by this 1. For some reason I don't really fall in love with any of Roja's fragrances at first sniff. However each time I come back to them they seem to just get better and better. If your going to blind buy a Roja Dove I would recommend Creation E over the more popular Elysium as the Ambergris in Elysium is quite Animalic. Creation E is a cinnamalic vanillaish malty smooth fragrance that smells akin to a Root beer floats taste. It's certainly unique as nothing in my 200 plus bottle collection smells quite like this.
This is a favorite of mine, as well. Roja creates complete atmospheres and moods. I had gone into a casino once and they had a soap/bathroom air freshener which somewhat mimicked the feeling of this. It excited me to realize just how influential Roja is, globally.
I'm in my late 20s and I love the parfum cologne version; it's lighter than the pafum while still being strong. I imagine the parfum might be too much for a younger person
I have never tried this one before but its seems interesting to try it. You always able to dissect the notes as doctor in perfumery mate. I hope to see one day you get sample of guerlain vetiver extreme.
Hi Aaron! My friend in my head. Thanks again for another fantastic review. I learn so much from your videos. Once again thanks for your candor... I appreciate it and enthusiasm. I just love it! 👍🏾😉
The paper label (vintage) expression of this is amazing. Lasts, drys down, and comes back even better. Enigma is the perfect name for this masculine beast.
It's true what he said. This cologne its for someone that's in their 50's+. Reminds me of my grandma/grandpa. For me it smells feminine. I recommend buying a small sample.
I feel if he reviewed elysium he’d say it’s excellent in quality but.. boring. As it’s mass appealing and worth it.. kinda. I love it but it’s not something I’d say is perfect ?
I've only smelled the Parfum Cologne version. I really like it. It smells a bit like Dior Ambre Nuit and TF Tobacco Vanille had a baby. The fizzy cola vibe is a unique touch. Complex but appealing and easy to wear. Thanks for the review.
You should try the house of Carner Barcelona. They are making some interesting and very different fragrances. El born, Cuirs, Fig man or Paolo Santo are good places to start. Thanks!
Aaron this is the best review of Enigma I’ve seen. Everyone else says this is amazing their number one frag, a mass appealing masterpiece. I smelt it and didn’t get that. They also say there is no booze in it. I get strong boozy smell. It’s described as a fizzy Coca Cola smell. I like Coca Cola this doesn’t smell like coca cola😅 Now when you said 40 up age group and you will either love it or think is okay. That is so spot on. It’s a very well blended piece of art. But the smell is not like Coca Cola it’s a very boozy scent made for a more mature man in my opinion. And you’re the first reviewer to say so.
Awesome Aaron loved that review , glad to see you on the Roja Dove Parfums reviews. I own the parfum version, easily in my top 5 fragrance of all time. ❤ FM Chris would be great you introduce Aaron to Roja.
Aaron must have some knock out fragrances in his brand because this was a very very potent scent that easily lasts 12+ hours. I can also smell it from about 5 feet away so projection is not a problem on this. Overall I would say this is one of the most interesting/nicest fragrances I’ve ever smelt.
Great review, think Roja Amber Aoud would be very interesting to hear you review think it might well blow your mind, it’s an absolute favourite and absolute beast of a scent
I watch Roja Dove’s channel, as well as yourself. I find him very interesting. I really like the sandalwood based scents, woods (I love benzoin) you find in the male line. I wear Bijan, Vanderbilt, Aromatics & lots of other vintage types. X
The evaluation of chosing a fragrance. As some people learn faster than others. Not to mention some don't really care all that much. I prefer not to assign a gender or an age on things.
Have this fragrance one of my favorite from.roja fills up my room when i spray it on my clothe last forever i can see how its someone older but ive smelled alot of stuff that i like different smells and im 29 someone who hasn't smelled many fragrances probably wont like this
Can you look into the use of the tropical fruit Manilkara zapota ("zapodilla") as a note in perfumery? In Colombia they call it "níspero" and you never see it in foreign markets perhaps because it's rather delicate and doesn't travel well. I'm not a parfumeur but I have a deep appreciation of the art, and I got to know this intriguing fruit growing up in South America. Hard to describe but it has a shady warmth to it, mildly sweet and smoky, suggestive of some kind of aromatic decomposition, like the undergrowth in a rain forest, which I've also noticed in certain chemical compounds, not sure if aldehydes or esters, that I smelt in high school chemistry lab. I just heard you talking about acetates; maybe it's something like that. It's truly exciting, hypnotic and fills the evening air a bit like jasmine or the pitaya flower. I've made it my small mission in perfumery to bring this note to the attention of artists such as yourself, in the hope that this noble fruit might find its way into the pantheon of world fragrances, shared as a tribute to the magical land of my childhood. Thanks for the spirited review; it helps me understand one of my favorites.
Hopefully, something for everyone. I often wonder just how much though men put into what they put on their person. Head to toe. What you look like and how you smell are presented before you open your mouth.
Thank you Aaron for clearing that up about Roja. While animal rights isn't foremost on my mind, out of respect for you, I wouldn't consider purchasing this brand, even as a gift. Now, got more choices for Christmas!
His name is pronounced like a normal old British guy Roger the dodger, not Roja with a J. Enigma is my top 3 of all time. The vanilla dry down is one of the best I’ve smelt.
Great review! I have this but curious how my EDP compares to the Parfum. I heard they're very close but I love potent fragrances. It's great to hear your take on this gem
The parfum version is deeper and richer, more long lasting however there's something weird in the opening that I don't like. The edp doesn't have that problem to my nose. The dry down of course is the best part and it is the best in the parfum version. All that being said I prefer the edp actually because for the money I want to enjoy the entire fragrance. Unfortunately with the parfum, the opening is its undoing for me. If your nose is too close to it for the first 15-20 minutes it has something really strange that I can't stand, so that is my reasoning.
@@Adrian.Manuel.Rodriguez got you. I appreciate the feedback. It's good to hear from someone who's experienced both. I'm thinking of getting the parfum cologne version as well

The perfume in the thumbnail is different than the one you reviewed in your video Aaron! The Enigma Parfum pour Homme is only available in 50 ml and is also quite a bit more expensive than £225. You're reviewing the Roja Dove Enigma Parfum Cologne, 100 ml for £225!
Hey Aaron. Can you review some Mancera and Montale fragrances? They are niche but all of their fragrances are made from only aroma chemicals I believe. I love Roses Vanille from the line. Thanxx
Great review! Certainly a scent that I’d like to get a decant of. By the way, how much of your chemistry education do you use everyday when you are creating new scents? Do you feel that it helps, or is perfumery ultimately comes down to art instead of science?
