Some people don't understand why I love my RT so much. I can advise them to watch this video. Gives me a big smile every time riding it. Bit heavy on low speeds, but when your riding, this bike is so capable despite it's weight. Great vid!
That’s great. Motor so quiet yet still growls. BMW has some great marketing literature on these, clearly the best. Every car and bike from Germany must be capable of flat out performance on the Autobahn. 🇩🇪✊🏼

I’m a police officer watching this at work while looking to replace my R Nine T that got totaled by a read end crash vs a phone distracted teen driver. Unfortunately, I’m stuck in a Ford Interceptor SUV. 😔 I still have a siren though…🤷♂️ Edit: I have two Glocks, an AR15 and a shotgun. I’m starting to feel a little better now at least. 😉👍
I actually bought a used one of these on an online auction a few months ago. (Unfortunately the auction company inspectors had missed a few things, IMO quite major, so when I came to pick it up I had to demand a refund). IMO used r1200rtps are bargains if you're riding by yourself(they're single seaters), they usually go for around half the price of a regular r1200rt. And they're usually very well maintained with everything properly documented. A fantastic bike overall as it's rather light, the tank is slim, and very nimble due to the boxer engine. Yet it's also a super touring bike with great mileage, and they're easy to work on yourself.
My buddy keeps telling me not to get one because the maintenance costs are high. I found a r1200rtp for $1600 near me, very well maintained. Do you think its worth it?

If it's good enough for them, its good enough for me. If you can afford the very steep initial cost, this is a Dream Bike. They get overlooked for other flashier / faster bikes but the RT has all the comfort, convenience, features, power and handling I need. Thanks again for the ride!
Can't find the Michelin road 5 tires review. I have a set on my BMW r 1200 RT bike.I just completed a 1600 mile trip in three days. One day was extremely hot 95 degrees and the ground was hot to the touch but my tires became so hot the rubber was balling up and started wearing very quick. The pressures were 41 lb 41 lb but the bike was fully loaded. .Once the weather cooled down, just a little bit then the tires cooled down and stop getting excessive wear.
so given the choice between the RT1200 and a Honda ST1300 , which is better for comfort , long distance riding and fuel economy , i only ask as im torn between the two bikes when i go to purchase one Thanks Paul in :England
