WOW! I can’t imagine it looking any better! You have such a good eye for special pieces AND their potential. Always such great explanations and narrations. In case you don’t know, spray cans have a black marking that shows where to point the nozzle to get the most out of the can. Cans are so convenient but oh so expensive that you need to get every last drop. I love watching your channel.
Came out really nice! That was a lot of work! But removing those chunky pieces really made it a one of a kind piece. And you did exactly what your client wanted. And if she’s happy then that’s all that matters.
I use a kitchen silicon spatula to get all the extra paint from those the containers, that way I use all and clean the container at the same time😊.The dresser came out gorgeous!,🎉❤❤❤
For all of you wood purists try not to stress too much. First of all paint is not permanent and secondly the piece got a more modern update. At least it is still someone’s home and not in a landfill and the new owners love it
Love your channel. Been watching since you were teaching and flipping. Was wondering if you'll do a vlog with updates on the shop, life, etc? I was really invested when you did the series on getting the shop ready but haven't heard much about it in a long time 😊
thanks for being such a long time supporter! There will be an update video soon-ish (: lots of changes happening that I'm not quite ready to share yet but I will when the time is right! As far as the store goes, it hasn't been open since May due to having someone crash into the front door/window area so its been a construction zone for quite awhile now. There's still a lot of clean up to be done! Thanks for your comment, hope this is a good update for now (:
I have never been able to argue with the results... It looks fantastic. But my innards tell me it was sad to remove half the character of the cabinet. I'd like to see what you could have done with it without removing the detailed doors D-:
It’s beautiful Lauren! I was hoping you would make a MCM base and stain it to match the wood details. You’ve made some great bases in the past. This is a lovely piece.
Why do you use bondo? I’ve never heard of that with furniture and your the first person I’ve come across to use it. Also you break down part of the costs but it would be nice if you let people know how much your hourly wage is when working on these and how you figure out your final pricing? I’ve seen others do this and it’s very helpful when figuring out our own costs when doing this. Thanks
Very nice, so much work but worth it. To be really honest, I really liked the original piece including the colour. I don't know why but it just spoke to me, and I think I might have changed the bottom front so I could add feet of some kind. That said, I'm not your client and I'm sure she is very delighted. 😅
I just started watching you and I really enjoy it. I watched your video on using Ovation Plus for painting wood furniture black - and now I can’t find it! Anyway, I’m going to try it on my spare bedroom set. It’s a 40’s maple wood set including men’s and ladies dressers, head and foot board and side rails, and a small night stand. Would 1 court of the Ovation Plus to do the whole set or should I get 2 (or more)?
Your transformation created a stunning piece. You did what the buyer wanted and that's what counts. In your final photo, you have 2 framed accessory pieces on the top of it. I can't tell much more as to what the materials are, etc. Are they for sale or ? It looks like they could be on a mirrored surface but that's just what my eyes see, and the vision isn't so great. What I really like are the drawings. Can you tell me more.. thanks!

Love this transformation from the old chunky look to the new streamline look! Fab job! ❤
Yes! Thank you!😊
Always enjoy being in on your creative process. Your problem solving skills are remarkable. Great video as always.
I appreciate that
Haven't seen you in awhile. You've slimmed down...looking good!
thanks! I've been here! working hard to take better care of myself (:

That's a great idea! I may have to steal it! thanks!
I’m glad you took off some of the molding.
Loren-you are looking really blonde & cute! Love the yellow and blue tops. Your creations are always explained and crafted well!
Very cool 😎
You seem energised. It’s good to see you enjoying your work ❤
I love this. I would have it in my home. It might be a tad expensive to send it to the U.K. HAHA.
lol maybe a tad!
It turned out lovely. I'm impressed with your ability to reimagine furniture design.
Thank you! 😊
I love the look of this piece - and it looks like it was made to hold LPs, if LPs had been invented this century. ❤
Removing the trim on this piece was a smart move! It turned out SHARP!! Absolutely love it!!
Yes! Thank you!
Fantastic work Lauren! Well done!
Excellent job, but I really loved the original look on the doors.
As a lover of Mid-Century Modern furniture, I’m a little sad that you removed all detail from the doors. But it still looks really nice.
You're VERY talented! This looks GREAT!!
As long as the client is happy
It’s beautiful Lauren! What a great piece of furniture! 🥰🥰
thank you!
looks awesome! It would also look fabulous adding the 'DIY Wife' MCM bases to this piece. ! great work!
Such a creative style, you should be proud and your client should be pleased. Thinking of you.
Elegant. You made a good set of judgements together.
Love it great that you left the wood accent just wonder why so many like the colour black when it shows dust so easily. Great job as usual kid! ❤️
That's what I like about black. I can see the dust, so I sweep it up. I don't want to not see dust because then I'm breathing it.
Great job as always! I know your client will be very happy. 😊
she will! thanks!

Great point.
It turned out stunningly beautiful! Well done🎉. 💞
Hi from 🌞Florida! Love it 🫶🖤~ Michelle ❤ Lauren, you look beautiful & your braids are lovely!
Thank you so much!! appreciate the support!
Its really cool that this will hold record because the front looks like piano keys. Great job!
Beautiful beautiful beautiful! I love it!
I think I would have liked it more with a deep dark black, maybe even a semi gloss to match the wood better. Fantastic job - so beautiful!
Great job, Lauren! ❤
That turned out gorgeous!
I love your work
I love it ❤ !! Your client will enjoy this piece so much !! Great job 👍
I hope so!

I loved the pieces you removed
Wow! The after is beautiful!!
thank you!
I love this piece!
It did turn beautifully. But I agree with some other follower that I think the rectangles on the doors should have been left.❤
😊 thanks couldve looked great with or without
I really love the cabinet!!!!
thank you!
Great work!
So gorgeous 😍
Love it.

Do you do antique dressers?
Can you show how you do an oak antique dresser?
I think it looks beautiful but I do agree. That midcentury modern design had me falling in love. I wouldn't have removed half of it.
I agree. I'm sad.
But the customer wanted it removed so there’s that😊
Absolutely Gorgeous!!❤❤❤
It came out great, awesome profit!
Thanks so much!
Beautiful!

thank you!! im planning a new base in an upcoming video! this client didnt want any base added 😊 thanks for watching!

Ok thanks for that I was debating buying the home right. In your experience does either one do better for spraying water based polyurethane?
Heating the glue slightly usually makes it release much easier.
@@nancysalyer8174 great tip! You could use a hairdryer.
Beautiful
That's gorgeous!!
thanks so much!

Super transformation ❤

Hello from Louisiana. Great job Lauren.

Gorgeous!!! Love it.
Do you ever get paint or Bondo in your hair? 😄
yes, yes i do !
Nice, how long do you let it cure before you pass it along to the client?
Love it !
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
For the future...Spray vinegar at the joins, works a treat
AWESOME❣️
Thanks 🤗
Does that home right sprayer leave a better finish than a Wagner 3500?
I would say they’re pretty comparable!

thank you! I got those pieces at Hobby Lobby a year or 2 ago!
Thanks. Is there any other info on the backs, like a label or item #?
First! Great job!
thank you!
Do you do consulting? I have a piece I want to redo but I’m scared and would like ideas of what to do. This one is awesome.
What a shame removing but thats what buyer wanted.☹️
@FurnitureFlippingTeacher thanks for the lesson. Overall it's good but that mat black looks unfinished. You have to go with what the client wants.
Vinyl!
When you took those outer pieces off , could you have tried to dissolve the glue with WD40 just a thought……..
Would have looked better if all the peices were left on it and everything sprayed the same colour. Still looks good though!
I thought it was a *Hersheys chocolate Bar* 🍫
😊😊
That looks very nice. Prayers 🙏 and Love 🤟 From Ginger
Thank you!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! it turned out fine, but it would have looked better with ordinal detail, just my opinion.
i think it would've looked great either way! (:
Agreed
Did you say $40 in primer? That sounds way expensive.
I messed up and bought spray BIN shellac which cost $15 a can 🤪 regretted that haha
