It's so interesting how they clue in on different things depending on their strengths. Really goes to show how important it is to have a team of multiple people looking at an alleged cheater.
This was really fun to have my run included! I got that like last summer so it was super funny rewatching and wondering why the heck I was doing what I did. I think it’s hilarious that the shield precraft made it so suspicious but it definitely was strange lol.
The only reason I knew one of the runs was not the fake run is because I remember watching that same person do that funky one cycle in a tournament forever ago
Do we even have a definitive proof that both first runs are totally legit? Minecraft is one of the most popular games for speedruns and at the same time it's incredibly easy to cheat if you know how to code mods... I can guarantee you there is a ton of cheated runs on the Leaderboard.
thoughts halfway through: Run 1 seemed a little off. Mainly dolphin frontloading (on a set seed you could reset for that) and the wood use. The runner somehow mined the exact amount of logs to have enough for 5 beds and to get on too of the bastion. It's odd that run 2 uses e-ray and fabric api. There was only a very very short time in which both were used by speedrunners (fanric api being forbidden around feb, e-ray being discovered around jan). I feel like it would be too obvious to be the fake, but it is definitely rare. Probably around Reign 14:07 wr. So far I think run 1 is more likely to be fake than run 2. edit: run 3 seems very legit so far. From the moment he doubted which spawner to go to, he won my heart lmao. Let's see the results. I got it right. How I found out 1. The other two seeds were bad while this one was good which was kinda a red flag to me and then 2. The slabs would not be enough to be a good time save.
I got it simply because I love off of the best being under the highest suspicion. The third was the cleanest, the smoothest out of all of them, the one that made the most sense. Of course you're not gonna want your cheated run to look sloppy. anxiety and paranoia does that to cheaters; they look back through their video, find something that looks sus and say "nope, that looks wierd, they're gonna call me out on that" and go back through it again so that way it doesn't look bad. The best ones are ALWAYS the most suspicious
I'd bet that little pogchamp thing in the bottom right of the third run is hiding improper subtitles on an otherwise smooth splice cut or else it's just there as a distraction piece
I've never done a speed run before but have been playing for a long long time and it was awesome to find out that the run I predicted off of my general experience over the years was run 3! Great video👍
The first video I watched from you and know almost nothing about speedrunning. somehow I was able to guess right, but thats only because the viewers got an important clue in the beginning that the other 3 guys didn't have. Without this clue I would have rolled a dice instead. Great job to the third guy on finding out the correct one!
Nice! At the very start I figured the dolphins must be you (NerdiBERT!) but the gameplay was too smooth. Really well edited. It's time-consuming to edit something like this so smoothly.
I knew it was the third one like 10 seconds in, just from the skin, timer, and animation, things like the speed bridging reaffirmed my suspicion. But I also knew that Nerdi was the one doing the fake run which they didn't which makes a big difference because i wasn't looking at which run seemed cheated just which one seemed like Nerdi trying to fake a run
What I don't get is why don't speedrunning sites just require you show your blank seed before hand? Like, I know in hollow knight you have to show the main menu to make sure you're playing on the right version with no mods so
what you can tell that number 3 was cheated was because of the enderpearls, no sane speedrunner would have less than 12, because than it would ruin there whole run.
Stone/iron axes are two shot for most mobs with crits. Fewer hits = less inefficiency from knockback makes them faster overall than anything but a diamond sword and not even very much faster than that.
I think this really shows that not everything is as it might initially seem. I thought #1 was the most suspicious, and what do you know, I guessed wrong!
It would be better if each of them had to guess if it's a fake speedrun or not at the end of each replay. The moment when they realise that they were wrong would be fun. They shouldn't have option to pick unsure.
I was 50 : 50 between the 2nd and 3rd run, but what gave it away to me was at 19:25 when Nerdi told Illumina that it 'was the stronghold.' That was super sus, as well as the fact that the 3rd run was played at the skill level that I would associate with Nerdi. GG.
I really like this concept however them knowing that the fake is a set seed made it super obvious! I think having the dramatic irony side of just spotting a cheated run out of 3 different runs

Fun fact swords do more damage than axes. The only thing of PVP is making shields less effective
they dont, they may do more dps but at a flat rate they dont,

what gave run 3 away for me was, how carelessly it was played, as if they didnt care about dying and they could just restart.
I would have guessed run 3 as well, it just seemed too perfect compared to the other two.
