In this video, I have started a new series called Minecraft Odd Run Out. This is the first rendition of it, featuring my friends Illumina + Smallant + Feinberg participating in this Minecraft challenge. Can I fool them with a fake speedrun? Or will they find the cheater?

Whoever played the 2nd run has one of the most odd skill spectrums I've ever seen. He knows game mechanics I've never seen, yet throws like 5 eyes and uses 7 beds

Yeah I was so surprised when I saw him pull out the f&s for the wither skeletons. Like I’ve never seen a low level speed runner pull out that strat and then they have the issues with eyes and beds like you said. Almost thought it was a high level runner trying to act fake.
I would never think that the flint and steel would work on the wither skellies since they're immune to fire. I just thought they'd walk through the fire but guess not. Also yeah he's definitely a UHC player.
I watched fruit runs awhile back so it's was fun to see that his runs and the 2nd run looked similar (fruit was an UHC player and it's very good in Minecraft's mechanics at all)
Every time Smallant mentions the gold I burst out laughing.
It's just so funny how much that one little thing bothered him!
It's crazy how much people miss stuff that's so free. For smant whose a challenge runner where the tiniest things can make a run easier or harder it probsbly sticks out even more to him than the speedrunners

You should make them watch their runs without knowing and ask them which one is the cheated one, would be funny as hell.
i think they would know tho, like chess grandmasters being given their own games and instantly recognising it from position or csgo pros recognising even reconstructed clips with skin, decls etc changed
@@singhcostan2928 Yes, but the cheater that recognizes his own run says its clean, and the other 9 say its cheated
Smallant at 16:15 makes a super good point. A for-real cheated speedrun is different from a speedrun you cheat to make a TH-cam video. The tells are going to be different. Silver is great, but is he using the same seeds and strats that he would use if he were actually trying to put this run on the leaderboard? I feel like a "truly faked" run might be less subtle, because the runner is under real time pressure.
I was thinking this too, like that would affect how they would play it off. Do they pretend to look around in the stronghold or just run through it and say that it was luck?

i think the reason the third one is the most suspicious because the guy in the third run actually good at speedrun strats, and when they make a simple mistake like not looking around in the stronghold, it looks more suspicious than the other two runs considering the speedrunner on the other two runs make alot of minor mistakes and not using the modern speedrun strats.

And of course No.3 so fucking obvious to just run straight there after looking for 1 min
Are these legit faked speedruns or are they acted out for the sake of making a fake look real?
I’ve actually seen number 3 before. I forget where but if I remember correctly it caused a multi month investigation into multiple other runs. Biggest rule of faking is know what the fuck you are doing. Don’t go out of your way to convince people because that will be your downfall.

Its widely accepted in the speedrunning community that Nerdi currently hold that 1.16 RSG world record. Although there are other times that have been completed much faster, Nerdi's is simply the most respectable run of its time

small thing: as someone with auditory processing issues when there are subtitles but they don't exactly match what the person is saying it's actually more confusing/hard to understand than if there were no subtitles at all. but i absolutely love this format! super super fun and the facilitation + the guests you brought in were all great.
yeah I noticed the disparity too, and I agree I’d prefer the subtitles match exactly what they say, even if the grammar’s weird/they stumble, rather than correcting it

The one hint that ant gave made my answer change instantly, when he mentioned that the player didnt look arround the stronghold in the third run, that sealed my small suspicion of it being the third one. I couldn’t really focus that much on the runs since there was a lot of cuts, shout out to Ant for saying that!

This is honestly really entertaining, part one and two and I think you should keep adding to this series. You should definitely do a joke one with them though where the last one is just you straight up flying in creative mode grabbing God apples and netherite stuff
Sam, Odd Run Out is such good wordplay that I basically hate you for it. These first couple episodes have been really interesting, excited to see how the transitition to more TH-cam content continues going forward!
I have a speech impediment, my R's are W's, so um, i say it sounds the exact same when I say it, even in my head..
@@parknich081 When I was a kid I also had a speech impediment. The way to force my R's to be different than W's is to not use my lips for R's and with for W's.

Exactly. Nerdi would want you to think that run was fake, the one that looks obviously faked, isn’t going to be the fake one.
Both times I've been able to guess the sus run just by seeing the skin and thinking if that's something someone would actually regularly use or a skin chosen by someone who doesn't care about a throwaway for a fake run
Nerdi didn't do the run this time, and this is conjecture but Silver might've had creative liberty with things like the route, the way they play, their skin, etc.

Best way to explain the sus nature of the second run:
Most wr holders are jacks of all trades on the most important parts.
Other people aren't and might be good at obscure tactics to a ridiculous margin compared to top runners.

Since the third run was fake, I find it odd that he would kill an enderman if he knew it was a 4 eye. He would only be doing this to make it look more real, but it wasn't necessary.
That goes back to what smant said about the goal of the faked run. It wasn’t to get the best time, it was to trick three speedrunners into thinking it was real, so something like that which would lose time is more convincing than leaving at 11 and praying then happening to get lucky is.
What sold the third run as fake for me was a single turn they did in the strong hold when they turned and then immediately turned around and started running the other direction before they had even turned their POV to actually see down the hall and realize it was a dead end. It was a TINY misstep that immediately confirmed my suspicions.

These videos are so entertaining to watch
To me, the second run was like, they were trying to make it look real, it looked like they watched top runs, didn't bother to learn e ray or triangulation, and just tried to make it look like they knew what they were doing.
The reason I thought it (or at least knew it in my mind it ) was three was definitely the Stronghold navigation, at first they checked some stuff then after that they just beelined straight to the portal room, not checking any of the other halls at all. Oh and them ending up next to a Bastion when going to the Nether as well as the 4 eye is some pretty crazy luck, definitely a seed I would want to get, which also gave me the impression that them getting the enderman was them pretending they didn't know it was a four eye just to trick anyone watching

I could never speed run but I knew it was 3 because the way they spawned in a village, AND on top of a baston with a nether fortress right next to them, it was too perfect.
As a non-runner who has seen a few documentaries, the 2nd run looks like a new runner who is still practicing things so they're shaky with some of the routing but they're also forced to adapt and think quickly on the fly which they would have trouble with as a new runner because those kinds of thoughts are not yet instinctive.
I got it right, my reasoning was in the faked run the movement was very smooth and clean throughout, there were no breaks or hesitations, it reflected like a good experienced runner. And that moment in the stronghold where they be-lined the the poor was very sus.

It's in the description, Silverr ran it. Unless you mean the seed itself, I don't know that. On the first video, LaRuim commented that Nerdi used their PB seed for the fake run, so maybe it's something like that again. But he could also use a filter or a seed found randomly.

I was sort of doing this too, and I swear I was like “run 2 or 3…2 was sussy but 3 was super sussy because of the end thing navigation they were like, ok straight auead

Personally, while I agree with SmallAnt's issue with round 3 at the end, the most sus part of that whole run was the Enderman. On such a godlike pace, it made no sense to stop for that. Gave off vibes that the runner was _trying_ to not look sus, which made it all the more sus.

The third one was obvious this time with the spawns and the thing that gave it away imo is the respawn anchor. They talked about it a lot in the last video and I just figured that it would be incorporated into the next fake run. Hence being the only run with the anchor.
Do it again, but have them guess the real speedrun instead of the fake
Its only a matter of time until they do one of these and end up incidentally exposing a real run as cheated
I will also say run no.2 as Illumina. The 6 rods and keep throwing eyes along a straight line is too suspicious
