How is this not a huge well known comedian? He deserves all the love
I've known of Gary Gulman for years. But I am likewise baffled as why he hasn't achieved much greater acclaim, and recognition.
His latest special is fantastic
He IS huge. He's six feet 6.
He suffers from depression, tends to limit a comedians ability to break into the mainstream.
The fact that he lost last comic standing twice still baffles me
Gulman deserves so much more love. Absolutely brilliant.

I thought this yesterday while watching Gary again (a smart comedian). I agree, and thought of Richard Jeni, another intelligent comic who couldn't cope. It's a tough life that often goes disproportionately unrewarded and can take its toll because of the demands required to keep fresh and in the light. Imagine thinking at an older age or after 20 years that Yuk Yuks or a Hotel 6 in Skokie is as good as it gets?

That joke opened me up to Gary Gulman, hadnt heard much of his work before that. But holy shit i'm a fan now.
I watch the states abbreviation at least once a year. It always makes me laugh. I wish someone would do a cartoon version of it like other famous sketches.

Easily the best comedian. His stories are so relatable. He has great word play. A fantastic use of the English language and the tangents he gets side tracked with are just too good. He really is 1 of a kind. In this economy and his first CD are some of the best stand up out there.

There are so many little jokes hidden within his main storyline, it's astounding. This is phenomenal joke writing.
This is equivalent to an awesome actor nailing a page of dialogue. He didn't miss a beat. That nickel joke was funny.
Oh I love this guy, not only is he handsome, he makes me actually laugh. Not just smile and say oh that's funny, or a small chuckle, but really laughing. Bless you Gary Gulman. I love to laugh.

You should watch more comedians
Absolutely, this is a great display of dry/intelligent humor (Which i prefer over raunchy or silly humor). Sometimes the best jokes are the jokes that not everyone will understand, this way it feels deeply personal and lands perfectly. It depends on the person, because these jokes can miss their target if said person is ignorant on the topic. But, when they're performed correctly, it doesn't get much better.

I got to see him on The Great Depresh tour and it was hilarious. Even got to meet him and chat after, and he was such a sweetheart. Still can't believe how well he can construct a long-form bit.

It had been washed, and was extremely flat and soft. FOR THE WIN! I was floating on a cloud, the whole day, and I reported it on my Face Book page, so all my friends could feel the excitement, too.

Discovered GG on one of the “Last Comic Standing” runs years ago (I think!), and have followed him ever since. Easily in my top 5 of all time, and certainly top 3 of current comics. Brilliant word play.
