Like I’ve said in previous comments my 99 Accord with 60k miles and my 07 odyssey with 70k plus I just like to be aware of what to watch out for. I have scanners and scopes and enjoy mechanics my whole life it’s in my blood but but thank you for sharing 👍 Artie

    Thanks you sir, very informative, i was looking for a ohm spec but now i know these switches are just on/off. Just installed a engine and car developed this 843 code. car never had trans issues and seems to shift fine, So i am thinking i may have possibly tugged on the wire when i was disassembling. At least i can check source volts at plug while wiggling things around or see if switch could be stuck in a closed position. Briliant info

    There are only two pressure switches, 3rd & 4th, on my '05 Pilot...Thank God for that after seeing how many they use on the Odyssey....yikes! Would it be too much to ask of Honda to keep the color of the updated switches the same as the originals? This is madness and stupid if you ask me. I've owned Honda's almost my entire married life ('83-present) as I fell in love with my buddy's '82 Accord and I just had to own one when I had the funds to do so. We bought an '85 Civic sedan, traded it in three years later for an '88 Accord LX sedan which we owned for around fourteen years. I currently have a '98 CRV with 301K miles which I drove off the dealer's lot of that year and an '05 Pilot which I bought in '13 with 99K miles under her belt...currently has 231K on it. I mention all of that because like many old-school Honda fans I feel they've lost their way and this pressure switch fiasco is evidence of it. Great video, BTW...thanks.

    Thanks for your very detailed and informative videos. I have two Acura's. One 2007 MDX and a 2005 MDX that are showing some of the same symptoms. On both they are not producing any codes and the drivability is good. The issue with the 05 is that when I shift into reverse from park or drive is takes longer than what i think should be normal ( about 2 sec). The 07 has similar issue but when I go from reverse to drive it takes a few seconds to engage as well. Fluid drain and fills have been done very regularly using Honda fluid only. Thanks for the vid Gary. I have an 2008 Fit that I let my daughter take. Now it has problems. I think her husband replaced the drivers side half shaft and filled the transmission with cheap fluid and it was overfilled. Would that cause these trouble codes- p1780 p0767 p0762 p0757 p1747? Can i match the size and thread to replace an after market switch or should I always match a colour. @@GaryFerraro Honda Motors Co. is so 3rd world friendly that the "D" light actually blinks the code itself with morse style pulse... as detailed in the shop manual.
      [Some people expect to get a message on the car display pointing to an actualpart number... LOL!].
      The trend is part failures never list the cause! (engine oil leaking from old valve cover is actually caused by plugged PCV, not bad gasket 🤫!)
      Next well hidden failure screwing with both engine and transmission is... the Serpentine+TENSIONER that is pegged... No belt symptoms but reduced power, random misfires and vibrations. TCM struggles to compute proper shift points! (80KMi and up)

      Same problem here. 1999 honda accord 2.3. Flares especially on 2/3 shift less on 1/2 shift. Should I replace 2 and 3 pressure switches?

    • @koreymayo8884
      @koreymayo8884 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@martinjay9959 I would go ahead and do both, but mostly the 3rd gear pressure shift will affect 2nd to 3rd gear shifting whereas the 2nd gear pressure switch will affect 1st to 2nd gear shifting. As a test you can unplug your 3rd gear pressure switch and go drive around and you should notice it shifting a lot smoother. Hopefully your wiring harness doesn't break like mine when I unplugged it. I had to order a new wire harness for the 2nd gear pressure switch and will have to cut out the old wire harness and wire in the new one.
