I am a caregiver to my 82 year- old mother. I was watching this and audibly gasped when that woman put deoderant on her eyes. My mother wanted to know what I was watching, so I showed her. Now we watch you together. We both love your videos.
The deodorant eyeshadow trick was on a video from a girl who said how she used to do her makeup in prison. I remember seeing that video vividly but I don't know who it was. I can't believe 5-minute crafts watched that and said "ah yes prison makeup tricks need to be MAINSTREAM"
TFVids I spent a few months in jail and we would use the deodorant/magazine trick to color drawings and some people would use it for “makeup” purposes. 🤣

PSA~ from the wife of an ophthalmologist ( yes I know everything by osmosis 🤓). Deodorant can very VERY toxic for your eyes. The desiccant in the deodorant will harms the tear production and could cause serious damage to the eye. My husband has treated patients who accidentally got deodorant in their eyes . ( and Krazy Glue too😬). This 5 minute hack could cause 5 weeks of Hell! Ok, hopping off my rant stool now. ♥️💗♥️

I won’t get into all of them because I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, but the most recently I had to put my little baby to sleep...my 15 year old cat, Udo. I just want to tell you that watching your videos have brought me so much comfort and happiness. You are so sweet and kind, but the same time hilarious when you are calling out accounts like 5 Minute Crafts. Also would like to point out, they don't even say which essential oil to use for that face spray. Many essential oils are skin irritants! Imagine if a young kid (most of their demographic) didn't know that and dumped a whole bunch of undiluted tea tree oil in there. They could get chemical burns on their face.
@Jessica yes! In addition to being harmful to pets, pure tea tree oil can be very irritating to the skin. My mom once gave herself a chemical burn trying to treat a skin infection with it

My concoction was rose water, glyserin and water and it was actually pretty decent for what it was... and because I literally didn't know any better
Ziya I still make my own ‘refresher’ spray - rose water, mineral water, aloe Vera gel, and glycerin. It’s really nice on hot days, but I only use it on bare skin not as a makeup setting spray. 🌸

Kat McKay I have been wondering the same thing and the best answer I could come up with is that applying false freckles on top of full coverage foundation and contouring enables them to “trick” the brain into viewing their look as more natural. Like “freckles don’t show through full coverage cosmetics, therefore there is less makeup being used and this person looks like this naturally”

And she didn’t even measure it, a tiny amount of some oils diluted might be ok but chucking a whole bunch of any unspecified oil in there and then spraying it on your EYES??? Super dangerous!! It depends on which oil it was. Tea-tree is ok and from memory lavender is skin safe as well as I'm sure I've heard it's good for burns once they have been cooled off and well flushed. And no I'm not getting my information from DoTerra etc.
Also some essential oils can discolour your skin and can also increase risk of sunburn, NEVER use lemon (maybe citrus oils in general I think, can't remember and can't be shagged going to check lol) on your skin and go out in sunlight, that being said, I guess it's ok to do if your a vampire............

I’m watching this a year later while we are in our third lockdown here in Nova Scotia. I could watch/listen ALL day! I love that you explain theory and demonstrate proper technique. Also, I love your less is more philosophy. I see so many already beautiful people who go overboard. I’m 50 this week and I’ve worn makeup since I was a teen, I love makeup! But when I try some of the popular techniques I just can’t do it!! I tried baking and thought “wow, this is sh*t”. You are funny without being unkind, and we all need more of that!

And she didn’t even measure it, a tiny amount of some oils diluted might be ok but chucking a whole bunch of any unspecified oil in there and then spraying it on your EYES??? Super dangerous!! It depends on which oil it was. Tea-tree is ok and from memory lavender is skin safe as well as I'm sure I've heard it's good for burns once they have been cooled off and well flushed. And no I'm not getting my information from DoTerra etc.
Also some essential oils can discolour your skin and can also increase risk of sunburn, NEVER use lemon (maybe citrus oils in general I think, can't remember and can't be shagged going to check lol) on your skin and go out in sunlight, that being said, I guess it's ok to do if your a vampire............

I’m watching this a year later while we are in our third lockdown here in Nova Scotia. I could watch/listen ALL day! I love that you explain theory and demonstrate proper technique. Also, I love your less is more philosophy. I see so many already beautiful people who go overboard. I’m 50 this week and I’ve worn makeup since I was a teen, I love makeup! But when I try some of the popular techniques I just can’t do it!! I tried baking and thought “wow, this is sh*t”. You are funny without being unkind, and we all need more of that!

Robert you are one of the best makeup content creators on TH-cam. I was using so many “TH-cam” or “Instagram” techniques for years and didn’t even realize. I think so many people see videos like this and think it’s so silly, but it’s odd to me how many everyday women are basically doing drag makeup because it’s what’s on Instagram. I have changed so many techniques since I started watching you, and I think my makeup looks 10 times better than ever before!!
