    I laughed when you mentioned Sidious taking Maul to Malachor to give him a "Healthy dose of traumatizing him" , it sounds like you're talking about a parent taking their child to the park for a walk.

    I often wonder what Maul would have done had the Jedi found him before Palpatine did. I mean, at his end when he died in Obi-Wan's arms by that desert campfire on Tattooine, it becomes clear if things had turned out that way, he may well have been the one to train Anakin, or did a great many other things.

      Similarly interesting is Maul's last words "He will avenge us", he put Kenobi and himself in the same sentence as a collective.

      My guess is that he would have been a great user of the Vaapad technique (if Mace ever allowed it).
      His fighting style was particularly aggressive even for a Sith so imo he always had that anger in him (being raised by the Nightsisters doesn't help).
      But I feel like he maintained a good balance after his return, still using the dark side but with much more control than Sidious or Vader. He didn't let himself get consumed.

    In all I agree with Mauls view point on the Jedi, while it is kind of unfair that maul is so angry at the jedi for not saving him when they couldnt have possibly known about what he was going through. I do think that he absolutely has a point, the jedi at that point had become hipocrites to their own supposed ideas. the jedi were known as saviors and protectors however they did things such as take children from their parents at a very young age, no different from how sidious did to maul. And even the grandmaster of the order, Yoda promoted harmful ideals such as extreme emotional suppression.

  • @chadflanaganCFC
    @chadflanaganCFC 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +19

    In all honesty, Maul wasn't wrong in his hatred of the Jedi, they weren't the defenders of the peace in the Clone Wars era you see this over, and over again but the best, most compelling example is Shmi Skywalker. The Jedi took her son, left her enslaved, ignored her own son's warnings of her death and ultimately left her to die a painful, horrible, death at the hands of savage Sand People.

      Right so lets break this down Barney style for the people at the back of the class.
      Watto did not want to sell and could not be mind tricked into it.
      The Hutts rulled the outter rim.
      If they forcibly took Schmi this would cause war with the Hutt.
      So what you are saying is lets go to war on our own contrary to the governments position. No matter how many innocents die as a result.
      So tell me cupcake why are you not grabbing a rifle and righting wrongs where human trafficing is concerned?

    • @chadflanaganCFC
      @chadflanaganCFC 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      And why could he not, he went to the Jedi Grandmaster about his visions and Yoda did nothing because his mother was in Hutt space, a single Jedi knight can turn the tide of any battle, it didn't have to be Anakin who went to rescue her had the Jedi dispatched even a single Padawan and made an effort to save Shmi even if she died of her wounds on the Lars farmstead that'd of been a significant improvement over dying in the Tuskan camp that tortured her to death.

      @@chadflanaganCFC I don't disagree they should have tried to find a way to save her, but even so I kinda get the hesitation. Piss off the Hutts and you could start another intergalactic conflict. And if they Republic outlaws the Jedi, it would end up like they did when the Empire took over, making it impossible for them to do what they are supposed to do.

    In his final moments, some might think Maul was using the plural "us" to say that the Chosen One would avenge him and Obi-Wan. It's more likely in context that he meant he believed the Chosen One would avenge the Sith. In a way he was still right, and Luke was the key to Anakin doing so. The calm that came over him as he passed is still so chilling. He probably hadn't felt that sort of peace in his entire life.

      Something else to factor in, Maul was born and raised within a darkside location.
      Maul's parents native environment was eat or be eaten, heighten aggression and fear of danger leads to anger.
      Even IF a night sister would give their child to a Jedi to raise, Maul still would silently stalk his classmates and size them up for take downs.
