I like Sidious because he enjoyed the finer things in life, he was a senator attending operas with his master by day. Then scheming to destroy the existing Jedi order by night. Ancient sith embody a lot of power but Sidious and Plagueis take a more political and cunning approach to world domination. It's the practicality of how they (mainly Sidious) used the tools of the society around them to take down the Jedi that really impresses me. Just a thought I wanted to share, use your anger, it makes you powerful...

Yeah this is mainly because they are the end product of The Grand Plan 1000 years in the making. They were fortunate enough to come in with a millennium of wealth and connections already established, as well as fortunate to be a Munn (Plagues) and of Naboo Nobility (Sidious) so they had even more wealth and status in the galactic community. So of course their life will be far more luxurious and in a position to actually execute the Grand Plan.
@@Lawrence_Talbotlet's not forget Darth Bane's year in that outer rim planet with Zannah during Dynasty of Evil, in which he was already in possession of remarkable riches, not as Wealthy as Hego Damask but not poor by any means. For all we know every single Sith was of means. Bane and Zannah were somewhat rich. Hugess Nom was a space craft designer, Damask was a financial Tycoon, Palpatine was Emperor and Vader had an actual planet for his musing.
Oddly enough, its also why ancient with didn't like them. 🤷

Old Republic era sith were quite normal people (excluding some of them). Hatred is not actually the source of a sith's power according to the game's lore, it is passion, which can come from hatred, rage or fear, but also from desire, excitement or even love. Just a few canon examples that were definetely common: partying, boardgames, reading, art (there is a companion gift called "sith opera"), hunting. While propaganda definetely affected them to hate jedi and the Republic, or even have xenophobic wordviews, the masses of sith were not that different from a mandalorian soldier or a real life landed knight/spahi in lifestyle. Some were assholes, some were not, the latter group probably found a better hobby than stabbing their old classmates in the back ten years after their graduation.
So the source of a jedi's power is intent, and that of a sith is passion. Need vs want.

Currently reading through Darth Plagueis by James Luceno... I find it massively interesting how Plagueis, at just over 100 years old, has procured a massive library of eclectic knowledge, despite his race, the Muuns, not having a fascination for any archival records besides business and banking ledgers. Darth Plagueis essentially takes on the role of an alchemical dark occultist, looking for the secrets of immortality while not batting an eye at luxury and decadence, enjoying life even as he searches for a way to prolong it. He throws lavish parties on his own private moon of Muunilinst, Sojourn, where they engage in hunting and debauchery of all sorts with a "primitive" theme to it all. From there he deals with, influences, and manipulates all the invited elite guests, much like the elite groups running the show in our own world do.
Your conclusion is from far the aspect that would be the most interesting aspect, never mentionned in other lore: the social class of the Sith. In the begining of the Rule of Two: Bane used to be a miner, then a soldier (a very rough life), Zannah was the daughter of farmers (poor life), Caugnus (an assassin who rose from the bottom).... and then we arrive to Tenebrous (a successful starship engineer), Plagues (the heir of an important Banking Clan upper echelon), Sidious (heir of an important noble family of Naboo), only Vader got back to a miserable origin. It would be a very intersting topic to explore about the mentality and way of behave and act by comparaison of Sith personnal origins.
The marauders in training would typically raid the Jedi temple on Coruscant and graffiti “SITH HAPPENS” or some such on the wall, with one group going to Jedha and using the force to alter the sabers of giant statues into, reproductive parts.
A Jedi teacher activates his lightsaber, but it looks like a glowing d!ldo, which causes the younglings to go blind.
Another one is shocked when his communicator's ringtone has been changed to "Why are you hitting yourself?"

Well; constantly watching over your back, being brought to great anger/hatred with a snap of a finger, and essentially using the drug that is the Dark Side all points to a rather... grim existence.

Bane was such a ditz. It doesn't matter how MARGINALLY more powerful your Sith are from the majority of old sith. It doesn't matter how well hidden you think you are. There are two of you. If you were discovered that was the end of all the Sith. They got lucky. It wasn't a genius tactic. It was a buffoonish one.
One interesting theory on the rule of two is that every generation of Sith gained more power as the Rule of two continued.
Put simply, after defeating the master, the power, strength and knowledge transfers to the apprentice. Therefore making each generation stronger and stronger. Until a thousand years later you get a nearly unkillable palpatine that even Yoda didn't hold a candle to and could never beat.
Only Luke had a chance being the son of the chosen one.

@@tommoore2012 In the book of the revenge of the sith, Yoda goes into the fight thinking that he can beat Sidious. However as the fight goes on Yoda realizes that he, the greatest of the Jedi, the "avatar of light" simply wasn't strong enough.
He realizes that the sith had changed and had been preparing a thousand years for this very moment. Yoda understands that because of that, he has already lost. That he had lost before he was even born. The sith plan was perfect and that if he continued to fight he'd eventually lose and if he died the galaxy would be forever lost to the sith. The Force imparted to him that he had a greater mission to fulfil.
Listen to the revenge of the sith audiobook scene of Yoda vs sidious and you'll understand. It's better than the movie and more accurate.
I just headcanon that there are multiple pairs of Sith scattered around the galaxy at any given time, but each team of two only ever relies on each other to maintain secrecy.

It might be a little hard to notice between all of the zombie action but you do actually get a very good look of what life inside of a sith temple was like.
It seemed pretty cutthroat and not too dissimilar to what it was like in Bane's era although it did seem like some Sith Masters did care for their students on some level if not because of them individually but at least in the sense that they continue the legacy of the Sith. Also it seems like students weren't allowed to carry lightsabers outside of special situations due to some of the students being really surprised when I saw one just laying out. And lastly the students were not afraid to backstab each other keep in mind that red harvest is a zombie book but the absolute ease that one apprentice betrayed another and lack of surprise from the apprentice being betrayed tells me that this was common
This is really interesting. It's easy to imagine what they did,how they learned. I remember on Korriban,the Academy. They did this. Learned,read scripts,lightsaber combat. According to SW:TOR, a sith acolyte/apprentice in the academy would basically just run errands for the lords of the academy, and were designed to root out the weaker acolytes until the strongest of the group was left, at which point they would become a full apprentice of a darth or lord. Sometimes, a lord or darth could specifically request a group be put together for them. Obviously not canon, but still an explanation nonetheless

They also forced every force sensitive in the empire to enter this training, or die if they were too weak. You couldn't opt out. I imagine that by the time they even let anyone into the academy on Korriban, they've already executed a decent chunk. There are many missions in that game where you're either tasked with exterminating low-level force sensitives the republic is hiding, or, on the flipside, rescuing them from the empire.

I think it would be cool if they introduced a Palpatine level Sith Lord with a stronger and darker version of beast control that has Starweirds as bodyguards imagine how awesome that would look a Sith on a Throne yellow/red eyes with two really tall skeletal figures floating off the ground ready to attack at their masters command and imagine the Sith Lord feeding captured Jedi to his Starweirds in canon it’s implied that they can drain life force and even destroy worlds having a Sith Lord utilizing them like that would be awesome
If we take the lore of Supernatural Encounters at face value, the Star Weirds can't really be controlled, save by their various powerful matriarchs.
@@blackshogun272 yeah in legends I think that would be true but canon from the doctor Aphra comics The Starweird seems more creature like R2d2 is able to shock it and temporarily stun it Aphra cuts its arm off and it seems to feel pain Luke is able to impale it with shards of glass. It didn’t kill the Starweird but temporarily got stuck in its body suggesting it is actually a corporeal being and not just some evil ghost like in legends but that is just my theory on legends va Canon starweirds I may do a video about it or something I just hope that comic isn’t its last canon appearance because those things are awesome asf
Sith decided to end the countless deaths in battles and move to a philosophy of only having 2 members of their group. Jedi trained children to fight in wars at 10 years old or younger in "their off time" for over a thousand years after they believed their enemy had disappeared. Which side is horrific?
I hate it when people claim that the Jedi were worse. They are not. The Sith didn't altruistically limit their numbers to avoid death and carnage. They did it in a feeble attempt to consolidate power greedily away from those they deemed unworthy. Also the victims of the thought bomb had a torturous existence after it went off.

The Jedi of Revenge of the Sith were way out of sync with what it meant to be a Jedi. They became complacent and arrogant, like anyone in an age of peace before an age of decline. In my opinion, they were not true Jedi, and nature always finds a way to restore balance. In Star Wars, the spiritual and natural consciousness is the force, so the force balanced itself out by wiping 99% of them from existence, and although it led to an age of despair in the galaxy, it was absolutely necessary to restore balance in the force.

This is why the Sith keep going extinct, they’re too busy fighting each other. Their greatest enemies are themselves.
I love this about them, its in their nature to just fight with eachother. 10 Sith could cooperate but all it takes is 1 of those 10 Sith to decide he's more powerful than the rest and start an internal fued that inevitably leaves the strongest among them alive and the rest either dead or as obedient acolytes.

Bring a Gray or Fallen Jedi sounds the most appealing to me. I’d honestly want to study both light and dark sides of the force and use them simultaneously. Kinda like how Anakin does in Ashoka

The Sith really fall apart for me when I think about it to much. It’s such a pointless existence. Hatred? Why? Just cause? Thirst for power? For what? Just cause? They’re just so blindly evil it lacks realism without underlining motivations.
@@dutchrjen Abeloth or some other dark side entity gains enough influence over force users when they fall to the dark side that they become puppets without realizing it, and most of the "power" that the dark side gives actually comes from the entity controlling the user like a puppet master, while giving into one's own passion is just a way to mold the Sith's will toward that of the entity. The Jedi are aware of this and try to abstain from passions as a way to shield themselves from the entity. The majority of the Sith deny this aspect of the dark side while their inner circle embraces it as a form of ascendance.

In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

There is an idea of a Darth Sidious. Some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me. Only an entity. Something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours, and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.

Sorry to correct but if memory serves during the Old Republic period they mostly used Kolto not Bacta tanks. The galaxy at large didn't adopt Bacta until around 4100 BBY, before that is was Kolto.

In my concept for two soth xharacters from seperate stories had different eras one duting the sith and jedi wars and the other 100 years after.
Darth wrath- trained in the sith academy at a young age and did nothing but train when not sent to hunt jedi. However when he went into exile and living in the wild forest of a remote world would hunt and kill predators. Darth malice- after the empires fall he was trained in secret by his master and was a representative of his people at a young age after his parents death. He was trained as a sith and if not training he would meditate at an oasis that was the only peace he could find. The jedi he faces was his close friend and when he was discovered he saced her and killed his master. Wounded and was rescued by the jedi. But they chose to both leave the orders after a day isolated and being hunted by his masters allies. They returned to there world and chose to rule the people together as the leaders and began a new order called the order of Sedi they would wield both light and dark and recruited many to there ranks. They escaped the galexy and found a world for there powers to grow greater until the day they return to restore true balance to the force.
I want to know the tuition costs for all these different Sith academies
