Hey, it worked for those peace protesters against the war in Vietnam. Guess the protesters learned a thing or two from the history books of Japan. Too bad they also got the trait of mostly losing in the face of modern force from the samurai as well
I see a lot of comments criticizing the lack of strategy being employed. Like, did you fools really click on "Gatling Gun Massacre" to see a brilliantly-executed battle plan?

1. Massive Overkill 2.I notice that the Gatling Guns on the higher ground hit some of the horses on the lower part of the hill if you look closely you can notice blood splatters above the horses. 3.If I was one of the enemy samurai moving towards the hill and saw what was going on up ahead I would run away yelling "Nope Nope Nope Nope"
Well, not really overkill, I mean, this is child's play next to Agincourt, and they can always replace the horses, since no one have a shit about the animals back then. As for the samurai, they'd need to think before they ran away, and let's face it, no one can hear they're own thoughts, let alone another person screaming. Though, even if you did, you'd be forced to keep going by the idiots behind you who are oblivious to what's happening. Plus, you saw what happened to those who retreated. At least half of those or more were killed when they ran. But the biggest thing of all, there'd be no way I'd be there, I'd have hidden in a forest or at home
if you look and listen carefully, you can actually see and hear the crunch and ejecta from when brains are exploded out of their heads, from headshots.

10 is now public :D 10 is the one i was really happy with and thought was awesome. i was mixing it up with 9. but it is public now :) massive battle indeed :D
also gatling gun looks like it was a very stable firing platform, very accurate firing for a machine gun basically it was mounted on sturdy platform and the gun was heavy, which helped against recoil forces. you guys remember that one episode from top shot, they had a hand cranked gatling in the show, and they were cutting down telephone poles by shooting at them?

At the beginning a commander yells "Pick your targets!" One of the guys should have yelled "Why?"

My god! You must he some kind of miniature bhudda
Yes.
how did you read my mind?
Idk, I feel like a wall of gatling guns is a pretty damn good strategy against a bunch of shogun warriors.
I did
Legend says they're still shooting to this day...
For all we know, they are called The Stigs.
Knock Knock! Who's there? The Industrial Age!
Isn't this the Information era?
DaiReith nah bro this is the dank age.
almost sounds like one of bill wurtz jingles
you know that one guy that never gets the joke? or that just stands there clueless then starts laughing creepily?
you remind me of that trope.
This wonderful example brilliant generalship. Truly a landmark in the evolution of military strategy.
That's...the point?
total war: world war one
trench warfare
doesn't need to be just limited to the Western and Eastern Fronts.

And that kids is how the native americans died
not really correct but close enough
lol, I like how the samurai army is approaching the Gatling Gun in a LINE so the gatling guns can concentrate fire in a single spot and kill them all.
"Our gatling rounds shall blot out the sun!"
Then we will march in a strait line uphill so that you can gun us down! Wait... that's not how the quote goes...
The occasional bloodspirts from the horses made me laugh more then it should. "HORSES WILL ALWAYS LIVE AS LONG AS THEIR OWNER DOESN'T DIE!"
Where's Tom Cruise?
the horses getting shot, facing the gatling gunners like: "you done?"
i think we talked about that while recording, "look at that red/pink mist"
Damn, what a fucking slaughter.
Look at that mass of writhing, human pain on the ground.
Me: Sees blood on the screen

When you want to play Empire Total War but only have Shogun 2
"The USAs have so many gunners sir"
"Then we shall fight in the shade"
guess wo said that (hint the greatest Spartan of all)
except for USA part
Enemy commander clearly an expert in the Zapp Brannigan school of military tactics.

Shamfuh dispray
Congrats to the horses for taking friendly Gatling bullets like a champ
I would have been mildly amused if this video had a Shogun 2 thumbnail but was actually just the gatling gun scene from The Last Samurai.
LOL some gatling gun units in the front row are being hit too.
Those behind cry, "FORWARD!" Those in front cry, "BACK!"
Well that's one effective way to mow the lawn.
Sir, we are being killed out there!
NO.. We will never give up!
But sir...
DO NOT QUESTION THE CHAIN OF COMMAND!
Yes sir....
you mean a single row?
It's like The Last Samurai all over again.
if you look and listen carefully, you can actually see and hear the crunch and ejecta from when brains are exploded out of their heads, from headshots.
Just through more people it ain't that stormy today.
Lots of friendly fire.
All I see is red mist (hint)
The orange gives "Red Mist" a whole 'nother meaning!
Is there a no dachi samurai one of these? 12000 warriors charging towards their deaths would be a grand spectacle.
This really reminds me of the final battle in the Matrix 3. It's marvelous!!!
I think if humans use these guns instead of those stupid mech, they would have won the battle, no sweat.
Squids just can't match up.
this is why i love the internet.
Very late to the party, but I am here to see spearmen walk menacingly towards the Gatling guns.
I started singing mad world in my head when the slo mo started
That's going to be some nice farmland.
Yeah, they're going to farm some good ol' skulls there
like the first world war-infantry vs. machineguns
the fourth line of the preview of the first result of the google search for "shogun 2" seems to think so.
imagine having rebels by a city versus all these gatling guns
lmao xD
youll love 9. i think i did really well with it. was awesome to record and then to watch again.
Eating 600 bananas gives you the same amount of radiation as getting a chest x-ray.
indeed.
You could poke your eye out advancing into machine gun fire like that. Wear some safety goggles.
The last Samurai 2.0
reminds me of the movie the last samurai were they all get killed by a Gatling gun
This video is so cool !!!! More of this, please ... I love it !
I don't think this is any clan because ai never march like this
DarkHex what
Looks like we added more holes to the cheese. Those guys will be bleeding from every part of their bodies.
Did you get the idea for this from The Last Samurai? So awesome!
Only casualties the Gatling gun teams suffered were friendly fire
how do u use fots units and vanilla units together?
This is why people use tactics today instead of charging blankly into machine gins.
Although it's more awsome.
I wonder what would happen if retreats were disabled(I don't know if that is possible) Would they be able to make an effect then?
before the gattling guns opened fire the only thing that came to mind as that movie The Last Samurai
Oh, Gatling guns! How I love thee! Nothing brings civilization & humanism to Samurai than a rotating gun barrel which fires 300 rounds a minute!
How you can make enemy moving in line?
thats called a row.
columns are vertical, rows are horizontal.
I love how the gatling guns at the back indescriminately kill the horses at the front.
Is there a way to get them 2 not retreat because I ould like to see what would happen
They have the high ground. More like 44 Obi-Wans and 5000 Anakins HAHAHA
the only way to stop a yari wall
It sounds like a very very very VERY heavy rain
Fall of the Samurai takes place during the mid and late 1800s, genius.
btw can u make another video but with them charging

this happens when you the technological superiority
If you were a player of the campaign you'll notice that it takes place in 1865 and gatling are only unlock around 1868-1870...
What is wrong with that AI? They don't even walk in loose formation, and they just keep walking into a bullet hell.
the barrels would have been overheated from constant fire for 6 minutes straight
10 is now public :D
10 is the one i was really happy with and thought was awesome. i was mixing it up with 9.
but it is public now :) massive battle indeed :D
NASA called. They want their computer back.
i didnt. my friend did. the differences between yari wall and non yari wall make yari wall preferable.
they come in batteries of 4.
You know, when I saw the endless hail of arrows I thought "thats some ungodly fire" but now I stand corrected. Jesus...
That's deep, guardsman.
Is this dlc because I just have the base game and never seen any of this
i remember it by thinking of greek architecture.
the beams that hold up structures are called columns. greek columns.
What map are you on?How do you get them to march like that??
also gatling gun looks like it was a very stable firing platform, very accurate firing for a machine gun basically

you guys remember that one episode from top shot, they had a hand cranked gatling in the show, and they were cutting down telephone poles by shooting at them?
I think the Russian learned some tactics to walk in front of machine guns
I like how they slowly creep up and then suddenly after half of them are dead they be like, nah fuck this im out and start creeping back
If only gatling guns were more accurate.
You know your fucked when dead birds start falling from the trees.
Did they actually have tracers back then?
Not actual tracers. That's just to keep the player informed of the projectile trajectories.
Reminds me of the matrix when the machines break through into Zion.

They killed, and ate, his grandpappy back in 'Nam. He wasn't in a war, they just ambushed him on holiday.
