  • Our friend Jon Stewart went nuclear on Ted Cruz after the Texas Senator carried out a vindictive vote to deny benefits to sick veterans, and a photographer snapped a very candid photo of the former president over the weekend at his controversial LIV golf tournament. #Colbert #Comedy #Monologue

    I'm a vet.
    I'm not a combat vet.
    They always sent me elsewhere.
You go where your service sends you.
But I do know combat vets.
I have had the honor and privileged to know WWI vets (I'm old), WWII vets, Korean War vets, Nam vets, Grenada vets, Desert Storm vets, Joint Endeavor vets, Afghan and Iraq vets.
The WWI vet had been gassed.
    Many WWII vets.
One WWII vet was a Bataan Death March survivor vet.
Several Nam vets with two leaving one of their legs there. Two with Agent Orange issues. One who came home with 16 holes in his body and later went back for another tour.
I see the Iraq and Afghan vets at the VA when I go there.
Some of them have "service" animals.
I have some military related issues but they are not combat related.
I have watched as the GOP CUTS VA ASSISTANCE TO THEM FOR YEARS NOW!
They do not have a problem sending them to "war" but when they come home, they turn their backs on them.
    I live in Texas.
Sen. Ted Cruz was born in Canada.
Until he was 42 he had dual citizenship.
Under G. W. Bush they raised the enlistment age cut off to 42.
That's when Cruz gave up his Canadian citizenship.
You know, in case there was a draft he could RUN HOME TO SAFETY.
And because of him and his kind, I regret ever joining.
Not due to the people I served with.
BUT HOW SLOBS LIKE THAT TREAT MY FELLOW VETS WHO NEED HELP.

I may not agree with the wars they fought in, or the administrations that sent them there, but they _staked their lives_ in service to their nation, regardless of their personal reasons why. The least we can do is offer them something more than a hollow "Thank you for your service" then quietly discard them without a second thought.

America legalized Cannabis Sativa to make equipment for the military during World War II.
Watch the 1942 US Dept of Agriculture video, *Hemp for Victory.*
Doing the same thing today will replace petrochemicals for plastic, and replace trees for paper and construction, reforming the global economy and reducing the amount of toxic plastic and synthetic materials that cause medical ailments from burn pits.
Ford made a plastic car with hemp in 1941. There is video of it on TH-cam. The 2008 Lotus Eco Elise luxury British sports car was also made with hemp.
The USDA reported in 1916 that one acre of hemp can make as much paper as four acres of trees. It was this report which prompted major timber and paper manufacturers at the time to begin a national smear campaign against the "Mexican demon weed, Marijuana" to turn public opinion against Cannabis.
*Hemp for Victory* was hidden from the American voting public from 1945 to 1989 so that no one would question Cannabis prohibition or the war on drugs. It has been officially available from the US National Archives since 1990. There is an official .gov link to it on every cellphone, including those of every cop, lawyer, judge and Senator.
There was a bill introduced in the US House of Representatives titled HR 3652, the *Hemp for Victory Act of 2019.*
Everyone has heard of "Marijuana" and everyone has heard of World War II, so ask yourselves why you were never taught in school, college or anywhere in mass media that "Marihuana" was legalized and grown to win World War II.
*Hemp for Victory* is the key to stopping climate change. If this had remained US Federal policy since the end of World War II, we wouldn't be dealing with climate change today. We wouldn't be waging wars in the Middle East for oil that we don't need. We wouldn't have toxic burn pits in a hopeless war in Afghanistan that our own government purposely designed to be as unwinnable as Vietnam. *Hemp for Victory* changes everything, and it just sits online at an official government website, day after day, for decades.

Jelly spined centrist democrats can do nothing but wag their fingers. So republicans have learned that if they just stop pretending to be able to feel empathy and shame they can do whatever they want. A cop smells weed from your house these same Democrats will defend them busting down your door and downing your dog. @miarrem if we had universal healthcare, patients in need of an organ transplant or a life saving procedure would be put on a waiting list…. and the American population continues to grow, so how long do you think that waiting list would be? doctors would be paid the same salary, giving us professionals who really don’t care for their profession because they’re not being justly paid for their services. and you know who pays for it all? the doctors, nurses, technicians, pharmacists, equipment, construction costs, and medications (which are already expensive to manufacture as is)? it comes out of your taxes. so you’re willing to pay for the worst-grade healthcare with your hard earned money, just so it can be “free”? the best option is the PACT Act, which is meant for our veterans, not putting them on a damn waiting list.

I'm honestly surprised anyone still wants the job of President of the Divided States of America. It's a thankless job if there ever was one. And America is becoming increasingly ungovernable on account of the institutionalized division incentivized by both the political and media environment. Sad really.

See, that's the problem...decent people wouldn't be business savvy, strategic or provide strong leadership...this stereotypical attitude is the reason people are disillusioned about politics and crooks behind the veneer of cunning or tounghness take over... Absolutely wrong and false. One can be a great person and a leader and only decent men should be in office....having said that we do need credible people from non-political careers to speak up. Crooks should have no power...period.
