Damn Chris beautiful bull. This time of year is a crapshoot for fall canyon runs and you made the report. Always a pleasure watching your videos and I always learn new stuff. Hope to run across you and your boat this year. We run out of Cape May
Thanks so much Dan. Hope to see you as well. We make our way down there in the spring for drum and we ran down there to fish the Washington last November. Ya never know!.
Nice Mahi! We went this sat/sun to the Hudson. Like you no tuna but Mahi, 1-3 for swords and a 200+ Mako put a show jumping 5 times completely out of the water before biting the line. Great overnighter and badly needed after being at the dock for so long. Awesome video.
Thanks for watching as always Ciro. We did a last minute day trip Saturday as well. We had 3 nice longfin, a stud YF, another keeper sword and a few mahi. We are gonna keep going as long as the WATER is there.
Hey Trance. Thanks so much for tuning back in. We use a combination of Buoyweather and Noaa. Noaa is free. Buoyweather premium is very cheap and worth it. Buoyweather is usually much more accurate. A lot of guys use Fishweather or Windfinder as well.
we don't bleed the mahi. when the action is fast like that it's important to just keep them frenzied. Plus they go so crazy once on the boat it's better to just throw them right in fish box or cooler. such light meat I don't think bleeding is necessary anyway
we use the same rigged squid as we do for day time swordfishing. we usually put a bait down 150-200 ft with lights above the leader. Rubberbanded weight on the main line. Suspended under a float. The other lines are usually tuna rods or another sword bait down a bit deeper.
Thanks so much for watching. For now I'm gonna keep that private but I think everyone would be surprised I'd imagine. We do not charter. Strictly for fun!
Fished Atlantis canyon all day Sunday. Saw a nice 69 to 72 break figured we found the fish. Just troll no chuck. No tuna landed one nice tuna like run. Tons of nice 10 pound mahi on every other pot.
Yea man we fished a few days ago before this blow. Didn't even bring the trolling gear. We had 4 nice tuna and a sword in just a few hours. Video coming soon!
@@reaperfishingnj8623 that's awesome man this winter I'm going to step up my chunking game. I'm not setup to anchor in the depths of the canyons. Another awesome video!!!
Dude for New Jersey that’s fucking crazy I’d do anything to do what u did I love jersey so dam much it’s so beautiful it’s paradise I love the bays and the smell of the mud and the flat ground and birds and that tropical island feel that wildwood gives off its great man
We took it slow on the way in (around 15-16 knots) to keep vibration down. Kraken Diving services came out to the boat within a day and was able to cut it off. No damage to shaft or prop and we were right back at it within a few days !!!
Michael. This year we really kinda perfected our tactics. I think over the winter I'll do a full video on our techinques both day and night. Thank so much for watching!
If you can find chem lights keep a few on hand. In case you have to come off anchor crack the light on and tie it on the rope or bumper buoy detach and mark the spot on your gps.
What an awesome trip Chris!!
thanks so much

Hey chris, just curious if you bleed the mahi while offshore or just leave them in box with ice? Thx!

We run out of ocean city, never swordfished yet, at night what’s your strategy?
