After receiving a last-minute call from good friend and OTW offshore columnist Jon Pilcher, the OTW TV crew hustles to catch a last-minute trip aboard the Provider, a 42′ Wesmac, leaving from Hyannis. Following a 120-mile steam towards the continental shelf, Captain Johnny Walker tracks down a giant school of bigeye tuna during one of the best summers for bigeye in recent memory and gives host Chris Megan one of his most exciting trips of the season.

Im new to tuna fishing and so far only go on head boats (about to go out on my 2nd trip). When you're trolling and there's dolphins in the area like that, do they ever go for your gear?

They're too smart for that. Farther south, they'll take hooked fish off the line, but even then, they seem to know to avoid the hooks.

What's amazing is how blue the water is that far out, compared to the new england beach water, which looks more green.

Good video. If you go again could you consider waiting a while before showing us the fish underwater? Part of the fun is you never know what could be on the line until you get it up to the boat. When you show the fish instantly it's a little anti-climactic.
