    It's great this new teaching format because one needs to learn how to fish, how to target different species, the gear required and the cost involved. Then you add in the most important factor - Bait.
    Then you have practicals, hopefully you put what you learn into practice and are successful. NOW JUST RINSE AND REPEAT.....BUT ALWAYS KEEP LEARNING. THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO CATCH FISH. BE HUMBLE AND WILLING TO LEARN AND YOU WILL BE A BOSS ANGLER IN NO TIME. ALSO REMEMBER TO TEACH AND HELP OTHERS AS WELL.

    Love it. I always appreciate a mix of education/action to complement it. What I'd really like to see is an in depth explanation of your technique for live lining/chunking for yellows. You seem to kill it and would love to see a video explaining everything from catching bait, rigging, tackle, strategy, you name it!

    Love this idea! No fishing channels I follow are doing these (especially not any local NJ channels that are relevant to where I fish). Thanks Chris!

    Cool video format. Check out the Tsunami split tail minnows as the search bait. If we hook up on it we'll throw the chunks and work the pot.

    I think September and October are the best simply because a lot of guys who are down the shore for the summer go home and all that’s left is us die hards. I run out of GE and notice that it picks up inshore after Labor Day.

    Wissahickon Creek? Where are you originally from? I'm Bucks County next door.
    I didn't realize that you can catch these so close to land. Twenty miles out? Hmm.
    Oh, how's the repairs on your boat going? Is it fixed?
    Your channel is so much fun.

      Hey Bob. I am originally from Voorhees, NJ. My brother in law is from Roxborough/Manayunk PA area.
      Yea you can get them that close
      And no progress on the 43 yet. Waiting on the repairs.

    Hey Chris! Nice vid. When do the mahi usually show up in NJ? I fish up in ny out of Shinnecock. This year the mahi have been small and so have the bluefin. The yellows have been giant though. Last week I hooked and lost what we estimated to be a 115 lb yellowfin. Hope you get the same luck but you actually land the thing. Lol

    Thank you for clarification on the size/bag limit. If you're in NJ and you post your catch on some facebook groups, you get a lot of negativity because they think you've violated the regs (which they obviously don't know about up here)

    Great format.
    Had questions about positioning. Are you using motors or anchoring up.?
    It doesnt seem like a drift would be optimal unless slow pitching up the column with the drift. What do you think?

    • @reaperfishingnj8623
      @reaperfishingnj8623  ปีที่แล้ว

      on the big boat i figure out which way we'll drift then go upcurrent or upwind then drift by the buoy/structure. I try and stay a casting distance away and try to chum them closer. then once we hook one they'll usually come right to the boat. Out in the canyons sometimes they literally swim right up to the boat

    Another great vid. Quick one for ya- you had a Phoenix before- I’m looking at a 38 Phoenix down in cape May with twin Detroit 671TA’s. Any thoughts on it before I sea trial?

    • @reaperfishingnj8623
      @reaperfishingnj8623  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey man shoot me an email with your cell phone number. chrischotti@gmail.com
      Pretty sure the 38 was the same vintage as my 34. When i went to sell mine we had major water intrusion issues into the hull and stringers.
      In addition, the 671s were great motors, but from all my research only in the right application.
      Phoenix made a great hull. Fit n finish not great. Rides very well. But very concerned about the water intrusion issues on mine.
