    I did disconnect the Vaccum from the actuator and yes was loud but not as magic as it is when plugged in, I love when in Sport mode, my car change the sound around 3300rpm, and that you don't feel it anymore once Vaccum disconnected. So I just reconnected all back as from the factory. I have a Ghibli SQ4 grandsport 2019

    Hey man, I like your videos. I’ve watched a few now. I’m looking to buy a 14 q4 with 30k miles. The only thing that scares me is I know nothing about them. My question is what are some maintenance things I should look for? Or common issues? Also are they easy to work on? I saw you change the oil and spark plugs. What about breaks? Are the common wear things easy to change? I typically do all my work myself for my cars but I don’t want to buy something I have to take to a dealer when I have a problem. I look forward to your reply, thank for the good videos!

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind words and for watching. Brakes are actually easier than on normal cars. Before you buy it, check the car fax report. Have a prepurchase inspection on it. Otherwise, these cars are easy to work on for those that are mechanically inclined and know to do thourough research before hand.

    • @StebingEdits
      @StebingEdits 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      James DIY Garage I noticed in one of your more recent videos that your car has around 70k miles? Did you buy it new? Or newish? Have you had any major issues with it other than basic maintenance? Is there any weak points as far as motor and trans go?

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StebingEdits I bought as a lease return with 53k miles on it. My opinion is the more mileage it had was evidence of how reliable it has been. Hard to put that many miles on a car that spent a lot of time in the shop. It now has 77k miles on it. It has been a flawlessly reliqble daily driver. Engines and transmissions on these are rock solid as long as it has not been abused ans has been properly maintained. Pay specific attention to the maintenance history in the car fax report. Also, after a cols start, wait for 5 minutes before putting it in gear. Then DONOT rev it above 3500 rpm until it is at operating temp. For me that is when the coolant and oil temp is at half way point.

    On 2016 and newer, you can turn the sport exhaust on before you start it.

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @JamesDIYGarage

      @@zapalskic not louder, but it stays loud from idle to redline. Normally the sport exhaust would close from 1000 RPM to 3500 RPM then open after 3500 RPM.

    Hello james do you think a 2016 Maserati ghibli sq4 is a good buy now in 2020 ?

    • @JamesDIYGarage
      @JamesDIYGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont think it matters much what year it is unless you are looking for more tech, then get 2017 or newer. What is important is the condition its in and its history. I have always said a Maserati Ghibli that has been driven an average of at least 10k miles a year is proof of how reliable it has been. Its kinda hard to put that many miles on a car with it in the shop all the time. A complete CarFax report should have maintenance history. Have a PPI done before you buy. If you are mechanically inclined and DIY your maintenance service it should be a lot less costly to own. Just remember to document all your maintenance and report it on CarFax so it is reportable there.

      I highly recommend changing oil every 6k to 7k miles or 6 months which ever comes 1st. Do not follow manufacturers suggested oil change interval. You can change your own oil for less than $150.00 here in US. The oil light requires a device to reset it. I use the ODB Star Pro X200 but I have the older version that only works on 2014 to 2016. The newer version of the ODB Star Pro X200 supposedly works on 2017 and newer. They have them on Amazon.
