    Incredible.
    This engine won engine of the year. Beating all the engines from the Italians in Germans. This lexus beat all Ferrari and Porsche models from its era. Lexus needs to do a part 2

    There is nothing wrong with the single clutch. It's part of the experience. It gives it a mechanical feel and character.

    • @MikeForsythe
      @MikeForsythe ปีที่แล้ว +10

      That’s exactly why they did it. They sacrificed some acceleration times with a dual clutch for a more raw feel.

    If lexus started making cars like this again, it would fly off the shelf because of the legend of this car.

    • @sdlausen1
      @sdlausen1 ปีที่แล้ว +49

      No it wouldn't. Lexus always benchmarks build quality over performance numbers which means... If they made a new one it would be significantly slower than it's rivals. This means keyboard warriors and car reviewers would rip it apart like they did with the LFA when it was released. NOBODY liked this car when it came out. NOBODY but Jeremy Clarkson.
      Car reviewers like Eddie and peoples comments on the LFA when released - "it's ugly, it's slow, I can buy two Lambos for this, my Ferrari has a dual clutch, an R8 is faster, it's too expensive!" On and on and on. Suddenly, now everyone wants to bust a nut over it.

      You would think. But look at the LC500. It's an awesome coupe, last of its kind with an NA V8. Yet it barely sells.

      Not sure it would. The first one didn't. Supra didn't. Everyone wants one but not many people can afford a car that isn't their daily with room for a family.

    Go look at the LFA team and engineers. The story. That building that was manufacturing the LFA closed down as soon as the last LFA rolled off. It was really just a project Lexus wanted to do for few years only. And this will and probably be the last Toyota / Lexus and Yamaha collaboration. If you know Yamaha. It’s high revs with a badass sounding engine.

    • @Jarro21
      @Jarro21 ปีที่แล้ว

      Toyota has partnered with Yamaha on many occassions in the past decades. Celica and Supra come to mind on prior collabs. This may not be the last. They've collabed on many of Toyota's special engines.

    Seulement 3 sur 500 produites ont cette couleur « Sunset Orange Paint ». Absolument magnifique ! Elles sont mes 3 préférées, pas une des 3 ont le même intérieur. Celle-ci n’est pas ma préférée en tant que configuration « entière » mais, elle fait partie de mes 3 préférées sur les 500 😉🤫👍🏻
    Merci pour cette vidéo 🙏
    P.S. 700000$ ? Elle doit avoir beaucoup de kilomètres. En Europe, une LFA avec maximum 5000km c’est 900000$ sans compter la configuration spéciale, on est même plus proche de 1 million $ sinon. Sorry i’m French, and my English it’s so bad 😅😉😁. But the LFA it’s my favorite car forever. Ah oui…les jantes ne sont pas d’origine ou alors j’ai raté un épisode lol

  • @bucketslash11

    the LFA gearbox "dance" is a lot like racecars with a sequential gearbox:
    - pull both paddles for neutral
    - separate button for reverse
    - pull up to engage gear
    these are not abnormal in those types of racecars

Depending on the reviewer/magazine one was faster than the other or exact times. From a roll the LFA would pull away from the GT-R of 2012. At this time the GT-R was seen as the fastest thing around. LFA was able to match it with RWD. Even today that is not considered slow. The LFA was not a hypercar.
