Hi Alice, I have done a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from India and I’ve done MSc Biomedical and Molecular Sciences Research from the UK….which route should I take….also I have the module descriptors from my bachelors but they don’t stamp it…it is on their letter head already so can that be used?….Please help
So happy you addressed this area of concern. Thank you so much. What could be the ibms registration pathway for someone that doesn't have Medical lab sci background(studied Physiology) but going for Masters in ibms accredited Biomedical science?
Hi Alice. In a situation where I have an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and over a year's lab work experience (specifically in a Quality Control/Regulatory Lab), will the work experience count towards ibms assessment or am I better off going for a master's program?
Hi Alice, thanks for providing the much needed information. I have a query, if someone has done undergrad and master’s in non-biomedical subject from outside uk and wants to apply for IBMS course assessment so for that is it required to apply with undergrad transcript? Or do I need to provide the master’s transcript as well? Please help I’m confused about this
So in this case, you would have to have your course/degree evaluated by UK Naric to see what degree it is equivalent to in the UK. The assessment of your degree by UK Naric would require your transcript. The results/statement from UK Naric is what you would further use for your IBMS course assessment For non biomedical science degrees I would advise or think the best bet is to have the 2 degrees (undergrad and masters) evaluated. This way you reduce the likelihood of having to do more courses to match the biomedical science program while doing an IBMS course assessment
Yeah that’s good idea I think. Thank you so much for the quick response. Will get back to you once done with all the process for the ENIC,IBMS and HCPC registration process.😊
Thank you so much for this video!! I just a question-- i have a medical laboratory science degree in my country and working as an mls for over a year now do i still have to go through the ibms assessment before the hcpc registration to work in the uk?
No, IBMS accreditation is for people who didn't study medical laboratory science as a degree. You wouldn't need an assessment, Just go ahead to Hcpc accreditation
Hi, please I have a Bsc in Anatomy but it’s over 10years and I also have a Bsc in Microbiology 4years and then MSc in Biomedical Science from UK just last year….Please which of this documents do I submit for the IBMS assessment that can give me higher chances of not having to take any additional modules. Do I have to pay the assessment fees before submitting the documents? Pls guide me. Thanks
Hello I don’t know if multiple degrees can be evaluated I would advise you call or send a mail to them asking if you can have your multiple degree evaluated as that might give you a better chance of less additional modules requirements But if you can only assess one degree I would say have your microbiology Bsc evaluated. I hope this helps
For HCPC registration as a biomedical scientist you need to have a IBMS accredited biomedical science degree or an alternative (like if you studied biomedical science in another country)
@@aliceakinola ok, thanks. what about people that didn’t study biomedical science? I’m curious because when I checked the HCPC website I realised you can register under about 4/5 professions which includes BMS and clinical scient. I will like to know under which professions best suits a microbiologist and how best to go about it.
Hi Can I get the hcpc registration as I have bachelor degree in biochemistry, biotechnology life sciences degree from India and currently I’m working as a healthcare assistant job in uk. Can I apply for registration or should I undergo further study here ? Looking forward for your response Thanks
Hello Alice, well-done, good job, thanks so very much for all the information you are dishing out for free. May God reward you.
This is quite informative! Thank you so much Alice.
Thank you so much Alice…this was really helpful 🙏🏽

Thank you Alice ! Very instructive video

I have bachelors degree in microbiology, so do I eligible for Hcpc registration directly or need IBMS assessment first?
You need IBMS assessment first
Hi Alice,
I did my both BSc and MSc in microbiology,so i still got do the IBMS? For HCPC registration?
Yes you do. Only people who studied biomedical science can apply directly to HCPC to be licensed as a uk biomedical scientist

Please is IBMS this same thing as HCPC registration
No it isn’t
They are different
Hi Alice, can i use IELTS instead of going through NARIC
For Hcpc registration?
If yes you don’t need IELTS or NARIC Evaluation for English Proficiency.
Hi
As a biochemistry graduate can i apply for hcpc registration or i will have to do something else
Hello, thanks kindly for this information, please do you know where i can download Msc Biomedical Science text book for free?
Hi Debra, there isn’t an Msc Biomedical science textbook that covers what you would be taught in the modules
Hi, I did Microbiology for undergraduate and postgrad. Do I need go through IBMS assessment first. Can’t I just apply for HCPC Registration directly?
For HCPC registration as a biomedical scientist you need to have a IBMS accredited biomedical science degree or an alternative (like if you studied biomedical science in another country)
Please have you been able to go through with the registration
