In this video I answer a question from one my readers who asked:
    "Dear Evan
Thank you for your thoughts outlined in your mails all the time to me. Am really grateful having you as my teacher and guide.
Evan, I have been working on setting up a training/consulting firm to teach entrepreneurship and small business management to young entrepreneurs and small business owners in Nigeria. Please, can you help me with information on how to go about it? I will be very glad when you do.
I want to know how to run an entrepreneurship training and consulting successfully. Have made several attempts last year with less results. Have been on this project up to two years now with only a training hall to show for it. Let me here your view on what I should do now.
Entrepreneurship education is new and less understood by most Nigerians. What can I do to create greater awareness and increase interest in this field, Evan?
    Thanks.
    Sincerely
    Daniel"

Evan the content remains very relevant today (March 2022) just like it was in 2013. Matching skillset & personality are huge assets in starting a consulting firm.

Just had a question about all those training companies out there who make getting in front of an audience and pitching a training product or course look easy, How are they really making money? Can you just start a seminar or webinar over the weekend and sell a product get paid only to create another product again and start all over as before? How easy is all this? Thanks Evan!

    Evan, could I ask.
Could you unpack it for me. Why did you use your name for your channel instead of a conceptual name?
Is or was your business your name or a conceptual name?
Its something that's effectively stifled me. I've conceptual names that convey the sentiment of the outcomes and the processes involved to meet them.
I've a few different conceptual names as they relate to different outcomes.
There's too many to initiate together although I care immensely about each.
Each are to enable an outcome that benefits / saves lives.
    I'm stuck.
I see the ease of using your name, as any concept can be sub branded as a part of you.
And you can have a seperate website for each conceptual name. And provide a voice for each under your own name.
This is the thought I have when I look at you.
Could you take what I have noted here and provide feedback, if possible?
I have one over arching conceptual name that covers all of the others.
I don't know to either use this and sub brand the others under (as and when is relevant to work on them). Or to do it under my personal name (as you seem to have done, although I most likely am somewhat ignorant to your path).
I would immensely appreciate your reflection. 💜
All the vegan love in the world mate.

He was talking from experience, he doesn't mean for him to not go through with since he already said that he is struggling (which is common for any startup or new business - that's why many fail) although he already tried it several times so Evan provided some ideas/advice to make it work for him - finding help or market which hopefully he will be able to apply so he can earn from it and keep his business going. Thanks for watching. #BTA362 Shine

    Hi Evan,
Big fan here. I am Nursing Student who has a Passion for helping other students like me find Reputable and Accredited Colleges to attend. I recently started a consulting assisting students with enrollment to different colleges.
In order to build credibility, I was wondering if you can refer me to any online Certification Programs for Consultants. Thanks for all of your great videos.

    • @EvanCarmichael
      @EvanCarmichael  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I don't know of a certification program but you don't really need one to be a consultant... you need to be great at what you do and provide value. #BTA517
