I was at Dumonet's 2 years ago and still to this day remember their epic souffle a-la grand marnier...Truly a classic place! Not the cheapest and not expensive - fair prices and excellent classic French food! :)
Classic, full of flavour, that's the dining room sounds you want to hear :)

By no definition is Chez Dumonet 'off the beaten track.' But if my grandparents were going to Paris, that's where I'd send them. It's delicious enough and they're perfectly polite to tourists.

I don't think i would like to go to a restaurant and the just decide what to serve you just by looking at you.
Yeah seems weird maybe just something they offer. I went in 2018 and we ordered off the menu. We had the bald waiter showed in the beginning. Everything was amazing

Guys the map of France you used is all wrong...parts of the French alps don't even appear inside of the border.
I know some people would have a heart attack simply looking at that beef tartar.
How is beef tartare ? I always wanted to try but I'm scared of getting e coli if I eat raw beef in US. I love sushi so I'm thinking it's kinda like that..
Well, like sushi, you really want to go to a reputable establishment for tartar. Raw meats are actually safe to eat if handled properly. You can even make it yourself if you like.

sxystar41 It is fabulous! I also had misgivings....but I have eaten it 4 or 5 times in Paris....make sure the restaurant mixes it for you....don't order everything on the side to mix yourself.

Hell yeah table side Meatloaf,but seriously my Pallet wouldn't appreciate this food,it just cant.The junk I eat compared to ANY fine Food,but I'd sure as hell pile in there and eat it,it's cool to see these Chefs loose their minds over a misplaced Caper...you know their invested into their Food that's a big part of why I would definitely eat it,just I apologize for a destroyed Pallet.

Yes, just like chicken fried steak is 'very American.' Someone in New York might eat chicken fried steak once a year for fun. Parisians might eat here once a year, when their old roommate from from their semester in Ottawa happens to be in town & wants something 'French'...

What the hell is French food? Nobody can get this food but in France....... Sad
idk....i went to expensive french restaurant once and it was tasteless. maybe i ordered wrong, got variety of items but they were all tasteless. give me thai, chinese, korean, indian, italian, japanese. i do like the ambience of french restaurant....the sights and sounds and the language....even the pompous attitude.

J'ai trouvé un très bon site, une boucherie halal en ligne, qui livre partout en France halal-boucherie. C'est franchement pas mal
French food is pretentious and overrated. I've eaten this food at these restaraunts and would much rather eat street food in Thailand or fish from Asian markets.
