Holy shit dude. This is really, I mean REALLY impressive. I couldn't even imagine that this can be possible with stock sound chip. I'm actually very picky about details, but this really impressed me. Of course, there are a couple of moments that are different from the original, but they by no means sound bad. Just different.
Instant like and subscribe. You deserved it.

Thank you! I actually made an in-game version as well and you just motivated me into uploading it!

Was Metal Crusher just using an NES soundfont lmao

Toby used an NES VST plugin in FL Studio (I'm assuming 15, but I think you can find it for any version.)

Wow I'm actually impressed with how accurate this is to the song.
(Side question: I've always wondered, how do you transcribe music by ear with such accuracy? I personally have never been able to do it.)

Thank you! Personally I think my in-game version (linked in the description) is more accurate.
I don't see myself as good, and I just listened to the original song 1/60 second by 1/60 second when I was not sure about the notes.

    ...There's a difference?

    • @kaizozhang15

      There are.
      1. From 0:05 to 0:13, the notes in Pulse 2 are not perfect, and in the original song there is a fade effect on each note that is not possible on the actual hardware (the volume on the pulse channels can only be between 0 and 15 so it cannot be 0.3 or 0.5). Otherwise you have to increase the volume of pulse 2, making the overall volume out of balance.
      2. My DPCM drums are sharper, and the period noise is not so stable due to the actual hardware limits.
      3. From 0:21 to 0:37, some notes in pulse 2 are overlapped in the original song, which is impossible given 2A03's hardware limits.
      4. Pulse 1 in the same part still sounds kinda off to me.
      5. I am not very sure about the accuracy of pulse 2 from 0:27 to 0:29.
      6. From 1:02 to 1:06 the volume is actually a little off.
