This is an amazing review. I have been scratching my head on whether to upgrade or not, but i think i'll stick to the eos r for now.

Great work, it's difficult to find great side by side comparisons like this. This is very interesting because I assumed that shooting 10-bit clog3 on the r6ii would make recovering highlights / shadows easier than the 8-bit clog "1" on the eos r. but I can't see a difference at all (edit: can't see as significant difference as I would have expected). I also have a question for you! I have an eos r and find that the rolling shutter on 4k is tolerable with no fast movements BUT if shooting handheld the electronic stabilization does not mitigate the kind of "ripples" from micro jitters that you get because of rolling shutter. Using my brain, I have concluded that IBIS would actually solve the micro jitter issue. I think the rolling shutter is actually that same on the r6 and eos r in 4k... around 30ms on both. I was wondering if you could confirm the r6 ibis sort of solves these micro jitter induced ripples in the footage. Thank you!

      Hi, glad I could help!
Yes, the micro jitters used to bother me on the Eos R as well and fortunately since I got the R6 Mk II I haven’t seen those micro jitters caused by the E.I.S. anymore.

I also miss the top LCD from the EOS R. Maybe I will get used to this. I just can't understand why it is left out, was totally unexpected for a camera in this price range. I don't plan to buy any RF lenses, so maybe I should have stayed with the EOS R. Still not clear if IBIS works at all with EF lenses, like the Canon 40/2.8 or the Sigma 85/1.4. After 2 days, I'm not so happy with the R6 mk2. Next I will try with it is my Godox studio flashes.

Unbeatable camera is the eos r with atomos ninja 10bit 422 HQ with speed booster is my favorite only if you shoot 24 not 60p
Let me tell you why I can get a eos r used for 700 and since the crop is 1.74x you put a speed booster on it and get wider and more light for low light and on top of that you can use lenses like sigma 18-35mm 1.8 and turn it to a 1.2
Also canon 17-55mm 2.8 stabilized which are goat lenses if the crop was 1.5x wouldn’t be possible so I really like the 1.74x cause even with the speed booster you can use any lens you want with no vignette and Let’s no start about photos cause the eos r is a goat for photos last thing is just remember the eos r was once the best canon mirrorless camera that everyone was talking about just cause the latest and greatest came out don’t let that change your mind the eos r is amazing unless all you need is a slowmo camera

@@juljanskurani yea just stating facts cause you know a lot of people always want the latest and greatest but sometimes it’s not I currently have a c200 and I had a r6 but I sold it cause I realized it was all that much better then the r and I found my self missing the eos r tbh but noted I don’t really use the slowmo stuff and if I need I have 4k 60 in raw on my c200 but also the eos r matches the c200 better so it’s a great pick up for 700 lol

I‘ve seen some footage from the c200 & c300 II and I really like it. I understand how the eos R would match with those, but personally, I would have already sold my eos R if it was for video. The only reason I still keep it is because I like the photos a bit too much 😂

@@juljanskurani that’s why I say only for 24fps lol but exactly if you combine the photos with the great 24p 4k 10bit with a speedbooster it’s a killer if you haven’t tried it then give it a try it will change your mind on the video aspect of the R but only for 24fps lol
