I discovered Dr Mindy about 10 days ago. Suddenly she opened a new world to me. I had discovered intermittent fasting years ago, but did not stick to me. Now Dr Mindy made me understand how it really works. She made clear to me, that this was the way to go. She made it simple and clear to me. I feel my body is already in a journey of healing. No looking back. I now feel empowered to become the best version of myself.
I started intermittent fasting in March of 2024 It has been such a game changer! I've had greater energy and mental clarity. I've lost about 10-11 lbs and my "menopot" belly. I've always managed my weight by an active lifestyle and avoiding too much sugar (even hidden sugars in processed foods). I'm 5'7" and weigh 126 since intermittent fasting became the eating pattern I've discovered. Im going to be 69 in Sept and feel better than ever with a heart full of gratitude to God, the center of everything that concerns me (so I have very minimal stress)🙏🏼❤️ Thankful for Dr. Mindy's wise input during this process!
In islam we fast for a whole month in Ramadan and we are encouraged to fast on Mondays and Thursdays outside of Ramadan. And you'll feel great after because the body gets to rest recuperate. And each time you have a meal, one is not supposed to eat to one's full. Around a third for food/solids, a third for water/liquids and a third unfilled. Islam is more than worshipping God, its a way of life. There's a way/ guide to doing anything.
Dr. Mindy Pelz is talking about intermittent fasting, not dry fasting. Ramadan fasting is dry fasting. Pelz also talks about 72 hour water fasts with salts. Doing a 72 hour dry fast could be dangerous. I have done a 48 hour dry fast before. That's like two days of Ramadan with no food. It was rough.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is an American corporate thing. They want you to spend money. I eat one long meal a day. I take a daily multi, vitamin D and B. I literally eat whatever I want. I just have to make sure I eat as much as I can before going to bed after breaking my fast. Have been working out fasted for the past couple years and I feel sluggish if I have food in my belly when I workout now. Everything just got better after I made the decision to not eat until before bedtime. You naturally want to rest when you digest. I wake up feeling good and my energy stays leveled throughout the day.
As muslims, we were given this information over 1400 years ago.. catch up will ya.. come to Islam, you're all invited. You'll be the healthiest you've ever been ❤
I realize that with God you can fast for 30 days. But what about the rest of us who feel extreme hunger. I am also a bit confused because TH-cam and other doctors say Intermittent fasting is dead, although Dr. Mindy loves it. I have built up to 5 days, the only way I lost weight.
You want to lose weight and be healthy. Walk, get out in the sun, window shop nature. Drink herbal teas, cut out sugars and other fats. I shrunk a 11cm fibroid with intermittent fasting, green tea is a miracle drink to start your day.
I despise this conspiracy theory style where you were constantly "lied to" until "my approach appeared to save you". Ok, some of the previous theories are not valid anymore, some are not applicable to everyone. You were not lied to, the quality of the food drastically changed, the access to food, the lifestyle, so we need to adapt to that by being mindful of what we eat and resist the excess food that is thrown at us all the time. Not so long ago there was no other choice but the whole real food and people were not eating and drinking constantly but two or three times a day without gadgets distracting them, so we ate less and high quality food. Losing weight was easy.
What about that fasting is not for every one ? Lately I hear that thyroid can be effected badly on some people doing fasting . I was doing this since 2017 from 16 hours up to 20 some times . My thyroid really is not well my Tsh now is higher than normal . Problem I get use to my fasting and cannot eat as before . Pls explain to me what should I do . Thank you ❤
The short version is; keep looking, keep learning and find the thing that suits you. Don't just jump on the first thing that works for someone else. I think this is one of the issues with these videos. Not to knock the videos. Information is good and people seeking information is also good. The issue is each video tends to 'pitch it's own tent' without necessarily acknowledging the other 'tents' are touting good stuff too. Being the tribal beasts that we are, we latch onto something we like the sound of, or something that works for us and we end up becoming proselytes for that approach. The important skill, for each individual, is finding the tent that is selling the thing that works for us.
Be careful! Fasting is not for everyone. Fasting really killed my health. We already fast overnight! If fasting works for you, great. But she really needs to have some disclaimers that fasting is not for everyone! Especially women.
How condescending try telling people in third world countries that live on little or no food all their lives. Try telling them the body was made to fast to enhance healing and well-being. They must be the healthiest peoples on the planet
When I stopped fasting and skipping breakfast, my thyroid hormones got stabilised. I've been hypothyroid for a long time, fasted quite often but it appeared is not for a people with health issues. Stop spreading lies. People, consult your doctors before putting your bodies in extremes
Do what works for you, when I eat 3 or more times a day im constantly brain fogged and always feel like I need naps throughout the day, fasting has fixed these things for me, she isn't necessarily spreading lies, it's just that everyone is different.
And dont always believe the doctors too, cause they do not have the education on foods, fasting, vitamins. They are there to prescribe medecines that gives even more bad symptoms..
So true, but breakfast can be the most important meal of the day, BUT that doesn’t mean a morning meal, it means the meal you break your fast with!
👆🏽This right here..🎯

It's true, I've got new body. And I don't mean that I'm slim now. This body is different, better, stronger.

You eat more during Ramadan than any time of the year. 😅

So true!!! It's not about being comfortable. It's about living effectively!
Love the positive message.
Thank you! Dr Mindy is truly amazing ❤️
A key to growth is dipping in and out of discomfort.
Thankyou. When young , have enough , rest enough , when years pass, it is still for the body possible "to go" as needed
Wow 6 meals a day I would choke. I only have two. breakfast at 8am fast 9hrs
Dinner at 5pm fast till breakfasf 15hrs.
I wish I had this information 40 years ago! Thanks for your work Dr Mindy 🌹🕰️🧆❤️
My body is a beautiful gift 🎁
We've been lied to....😮
I almost want to give up.
With intermittent fasting, you have to work up to it. I am kind of used to it, but it was super hard the first time.
I bought her book and just started this journey! ❤
Really fine recommendations ❤

Actually I don't eat til afternoon usually. And I sto eating by 7 pm. I never eat in the night. I still fight fat, but I love fatty foods.
High Fat High Protein Break Fast certainly Helps 😊

Male here, do whatever suits you.
Stop eating for two, start eating for one.
Stop exercising for one, start exercising for two.
I do 16/8 daily but calories STILL MATTER ! You can gain weight even on OMAD or 2 MAD
It’s nearly impossible to gain weight on omad. You can even eat an entire box of pizza and still not gain any weight

Everyone I see doing fasting seem to age faster though. It appears to accelerate it visually at least.
Im sorry but i see the exact opposite of what you see

no we were literally lied to by processed food companies so they could sell more cereal and bullshit.

Fasting killed my thyroid health. Don’t do it! Fasting is not for everyone.

6 meals a day???????
We all know that English girl is secretly Lara Croft
The word of God or the B.I.B.L.E.: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth is where fasting originated.
Now who is teaching people to eat 6 meals a day
Eat when you’re hungry. Who cares. I know I don’t.
6 meals ??
😂

Do the 3 sex hormones run Sarah?😅
Breakfast is King
Yes, Islam has ramadan 30 days yearly as mandatory and recommends fasting every Mon and Thurs.
Of course you've been lied to.
