So true, but breakfast can be the most important meal of the day, BUT that doesn’t mean a morning meal, it means the meal you break your fast with!

I discovered Dr Mindy about 10 days ago. Suddenly she opened a new world to me.
I had discovered intermittent fasting years ago, but did not stick to me.
Now Dr Mindy made me understand how it really works. She made clear to me, that this was the way to go. She made it simple and clear to me.
I feel my body is already in a journey of healing.
No looking back. I now feel empowered to become the best version of myself.

I started intermittent fasting in March of 2024
It has been such a game changer!
I've had greater energy and mental clarity. I've lost about 10-11 lbs and my "menopot" belly.
I've always managed my weight by an active lifestyle and avoiding too much sugar (even hidden sugars in processed foods).
I'm 5'7" and weigh 126 since intermittent fasting became the eating pattern I've discovered.
Im going to be 69 in Sept and feel better than ever with a heart full of gratitude to God, the center of everything that concerns me (so I have very minimal stress)🙏🏼❤️
Thankful for Dr. Mindy's wise input during this process!

In islam we fast for a whole month in Ramadan and we are encouraged to fast on Mondays and Thursdays outside of Ramadan. And you'll feel great after because the body gets to rest recuperate. And each time you have a meal, one is not supposed to eat to one's full. Around a third for food/solids, a third for water/liquids and a third unfilled. Islam is more than worshipping God, its a way of life. There's a way/ guide to doing anything.

Dr. Mindy Pelz is talking about intermittent fasting, not dry fasting. Ramadan fasting is dry fasting. Pelz also talks about 72 hour water fasts with salts. Doing a 72 hour dry fast could be dangerous. I have done a 48 hour dry fast before. That's like two days of Ramadan with no food. It was rough.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner is an American corporate thing. They want you to spend money. I eat one long meal a day. I take a daily multi, vitamin D and B. I literally eat whatever I want. I just have to make sure I eat as much as I can before going to bed after breaking my fast. Have been working out fasted for the past couple years and I feel sluggish if I have food in my belly when I workout now. Everything just got better after I made the decision to not eat until before bedtime. You naturally want to rest when you digest. I wake up feeling good and my energy stays leveled throughout the day.

I realize that with God you can fast for 30 days. But what about the rest of us who feel extreme hunger. I am also a bit confused because TH-cam and other doctors say Intermittent fasting is dead, although Dr. Mindy loves it. I have built up to 5 days, the only way I lost weight.

Walk, get out in the sun, window shop nature.
Drink herbal teas, cut out sugars and other fats.
I shrunk a 11cm fibroid with intermittent fasting, green tea is a miracle drink to start your day.

I despise this conspiracy theory style where you were constantly "lied to" until "my approach appeared to save you". Ok, some of the previous theories are not valid anymore, some are not applicable to everyone. You were not lied to, the quality of the food drastically changed, the access to food, the lifestyle, so we need to adapt to that by being mindful of what we eat and resist the excess food that is thrown at us all the time. Not so long ago there was no other choice but the whole real food and people were not eating and drinking constantly but two or three times a day without gadgets distracting them, so we ate less and high quality food. Losing weight was easy.

The short version is; keep looking, keep learning and find the thing that suits you. Don't just jump on the first thing that works for someone else.
I think this is one of the issues with these videos. Not to knock the videos. Information is good and people seeking information is also good. The issue is each video tends to 'pitch it's own tent' without necessarily acknowledging the other 'tents' are touting good stuff too.
Being the tribal beasts that we are, we latch onto something we like the sound of, or something that works for us and we end up becoming proselytes for that approach. The important skill, for each individual, is finding the tent that is selling the thing that works for us.
