I’m a big fan of BTS (BTS Army) AND an honest plastic surgeon. Many people have accused members of BTS of being addicted to plastic surgery or having a lot of work done. I guess it comes with being Uber talented and the most popular band in the world. I’ll give my balanced analysis without judgement. I’ve had plastic surgery myself and there is absolutely no shame in having it. I hope you enjoy this video and learn some from it! I am looking forward to your insight! I'm totally open to the idea they have made alterations and don't have a sigma against it, but I just hope you looked at their pics as teens and current ones without makeup contouring. That makes a huge difference. Especially on things like Hobi's nose. Lol!
I hope you provide recovery times for any procedures they may have had - because BigHit didn't have funds early on (they were close to bankrupty) and I don't see how the guys would have squeezed in surgery when their practice, stage, and pre/post debut vlogging took up all their time. Also, BigHit was insistent on personal authenticity for their music, so I'm conflicted about the idea of them putting value in cosmetic surgery. 🤔

@flyushkifly I think maybe that's why a lot of Army, myself included were hesitant at first or super defensive because BH always has the route of natural authenticity for looks which made them different from other companies that forced idols to bleach their skin and do plastic surgery. I suppose though, BH still provided it via choice, so, that is still different;
So to then hear the boys did get surgery breaks that initial view of authenticity; at least that's what I reckon.

Ironically nobody would call him ugly if he was just a regular guy, since most Korean average joes don’t hold a candle next to him.
He’s only considered ugly by kpop standards because most kpop stans are into the effeminate flower boy types, which is his total opposite, cause he’s more of the tall, dark and handsome type. Add that he looks and act older, and kpop idoles are expected to be cute and youthful.

I have seen so many army’s comparing themselves to the bts members, but people have to keep in mind that everyone who is in the public eye gets some type of cosmetic treatment or surgery done. Honestly, any ARMY who thinks Dr. Youn, a certified doctor, is wrong compared to them, a mere ordinary fan, is out of their mind. Their egos must be through the roof.
Get over it, guys. Doctors know more than us, and we have no authority to dispute what they say especially if multiple doctors say the same thing because we do not know what they know.
The point is: they look natural, and the plastic or cosmetic surgery done, if any, is minimal, refining and accentuating their natural beauty. Other boy groups show more aggressive approach and their nose, lips, jaws look so unnatural, almost doll like. I believe it depends on the company they work for as well. Korean beauty standards are really another level and really demanding, but at least for BTS they managed to meet the standard without altering if just minimally their look. 💜💜
RM’s nose job was quite horrible lol. Not natural looking at all.

In that picture seokjin doesn't have a botox he talked abt getting botox for medical purposes but he also said he doesn't wqnt to do anything with his and wants to age naturally. Seokjin also got casted by sm when he's in highschool so I bet he's already so handsome since then and also got casted by bh in college. Jungkook also can't believe before that a handsome man like jin exist when they first met.

I watch so much BTS vlogs and behind the scenes since predebut days I doubt they had any major surgeries done before except RM. He even talked about it. Surgeries need time to recover and they were so busy. We also seen how they grew up from year to year. It’s part of aging well because most people age better than before with the skin care. You should also compare pictures without makeup since makeup can make their faces look certain ways especially with the nose and jawline. BigHit was broke back then and they obviously wouldn’t spend money on such thing. In RM’s case, his jawline changes when he gains weight so probably no botox.
And Ig rm's nose sergery was due to medical conditions..
Yes. High definition and no makeup photos/ videos and seeing their faces in different angles. We also know that official photos released and even magazine ones (from all celebrities all over the world) go through a lot of photoshop. I would like to point out as well, I've noticed that the maknae line, matured late physically, probably on their mid or early 20s. During predebut and rookie days, Jungkook, as we all know, was a literal child back then. V, even if he was 18-19, his built was skinny, his face was softer and smaller and he looked like a 14 year old haha. Jimin, even if he had muscles back then, his face also looks a lot like a child, chubby cheeks and soft features too, the members even said once in an interview how Jimin does not have any armpit hairs because they just wouldnt grow.
Yea. I think that's what people don't take into consideration. The recovery time. They were so busy back then and are constantly in front of the camera plus they were really young. As he said it may be plastic surgery but it may well be natural development

As a make up artist I wish You did this study on some specific videos like their program " BTS in the soop" when they were bare faced & not wearing make up or anything cuz I definitely think that make up really change some features on their faces especially their noses and their chins and eyes
Cuz in that program "in the soop" u can definitely notice how their noses look little bit different and bigger without make up
& U can see the real shape of their eyes and their chins .

Yeah makeup such a huge transformer for your face, and as beautiful as the guys are naturally, I’m sure there’s a lot of editing and maybe even photoshop for their concept/endorsement photos and music videos, both of those can make anybody look “perfect”.

Plastic surgery is not an insult. If you think it is, you might want to check your own biases you have against it. There is nothing wrong about getting plastic surgery, and you don't know the reasons behind why the BTS members might have gotten plastic surgery. As long as they don't deny it and set unrealistic beauty standards for their many fans, who cares? And if you do care, don't watch the video, please. Your kind is why the fanbase has such a bad reputation.

I'm just here to recommend again the video "The Long History of 'I'm not ugly, I'm just poor'' by Karolina Zebrowska. She talks about the way we, poor mortals, view some celebrities, and how sometimes refuse to admit they've had work done. She never blames cosmetic procedures, or the celebrities themselves, just this culture of... not acknowledging that normal people can't look Like That without going through some sort of procedure. I'm not talking about the BTS members, btw, I'm just saying it's a good video that makes us think (edit: typo)
Yeah, I think it's all about our poor mortals and the influence of celebrities on us. I think you want to say " *All* Normal people can't look like that without some sort of procedure. Some maybe celebrities or normal people are born pretty/handsome than others. This is just FYI, BTS members never refuse or admit about that(I'm talking this bcoz some will come to your reply blaming on BTS). In my opinion, Celebrities themselves are victims of this. I think they want to fit in beauty standards more than us bcoz they have to receive so much hate more than other celebrities if they don't fit in, then they develop insecurities. The people' words influence celebrities thoughts, then after celebrities did that, celebrities once influenced people. It's like a chain. The only difference is celebrities fixed their insecurities with surgeries using money and the normal people can't do bcoz we don't have much money.
@@iheartstars_ yes, Karolina also talk about the celebrities' perspectives on her video. About how they are all in a very competitive field, with everyone else in the industry looking super young and perfect all the time. It's almost like they have no choice but to join.
And you have to also keep in mind with idols, they have connections to good laser skin treatments, teeth whitening, and really good stylists, hairdressers and make-up artists that know how to bring out their good features. If any moderately good looking person on the street had access to that, they most likely could resemble an ethereal looking superstar as well.

I think Jin's jawline is natural. Speaking by my own experience, when I was little I used to have the famous baby cheeks and that also played on my jaw. Now I got thinner, lose my baby cheeks and have a more "mature" face.
Me too when i was little i didn't have a sharp jaw line but as i am aging its like jawline now can cut diamond and if u hurt it it pains like a btch 😭

Aging definitely plays a role with how a face changes. When I was a teenager my face was round and my nose looked big and puffy, as I got older my face slimmed down and my nose became more slender and not as big looking.

there is nothing wrong with plastic surgery, certainly not in kpop industry, where LITERALLY everyone has had something done. Doctor Youn is very respectable when explaining the things he thinks the members might have undergone.
This is not just kpop industry. Everysingle person from eveycorner of the world who is a public figure have done some things. Those public figures who didn't got done anything is very rare in every corner of the world.

i like that he embraces not having to be perfectly symmetrical even if he mostly is in general
overall, i don't think many of the boys got stuff done and if they did it's still very natural and true to their natural selves and this is how i prefer plastic surgery to be tbh, it should be 'you but better' not trying to look like another person
and yeah, i'm not sure about the jaw stuff but i do think it could be natural because i know my face as i've aged has gotten significantly slimmer and i even weigh more now versus when i was in high school/early college and i just look more structured (and honestly better tbh, if you take care of yourself/have good skin aging can even help you look more attractive in that way)
but yeah, great video and i hope people aren't harsh because almost every celeb gets something done and it's good to point these things out because people like to compare themselves to a standard they can't get naturally
and there is also nothing wrong with getting surgery if you have the money because i know i'd get minor alternations if i had the money too

Yeah and if they were all obsessed over plastic surgery like people claim they are, they’d get those little imperfections fixed. One of jimin’s eyes is smaller than the other because of an injury, jungkook’s top lip is thinner than the bottom, and so on. If they wanted those things fixed they would’ve done it. But knowing their history and message, I think it’s clear these things are not the top priority. But nobody should be shamed for it like you said.

Dr Youn, you should have looked at more than one photo of high school and younger V he never had a “bulbous” nose not even as a baby please look at his childhood photos. His nose isn’t perfectly straight now either it just looks straight at certain angles as all noses can, including my really not straight nose. V’s nose is frankly his signature feature - along with his eyes and his whole face- and they’re natural. He is a natural beauty- that’s his signature.
I'm glad a video by a professional was made about this. No one deserves hate (not the Dr. and not BTS) for getting plastic surgery. Super informative and good to know!

Believe what you want. But - Jungkook definitely had a rhinoplasty. His nose was wider before and was too big too big for his face. You can see the difference.

I4 FAMOUS PLASTIC SURGEONS have analyzed Taehyung’s face and chose him as the most handsome Kpop idol WITHOUT ANY PLASTIC SURGERIES. 3 of them even said that most male patients asked to have their face to go under the knife to look like Taehyung but the plastic surgeons replied his face is all natural and it’s impossible to do so through surgeries. I only list 4 PLASTIC SURGEONS’ STATEMENTS here. I can't list the links because TH-cam won't allow it nowadays but all articles could be found online:
1. Plastic surgeons Jun, a plastic surgeon at MARQ Plastic Surgery Clinic revealed that his male patients come to him, bringing V's pictures requesting for his eyes.
He said: V’S PROFILE IS ART. HIS VERY HIGH NOSE BRIDGE THAT STARTS ALMOST FROM BETWEEN THE EYEBROWS AND TO THE TOP OF THE NOSE IS DIFFICULT TO ACHIEVE WITH PLASTIC SURGERY.

They said most patients approached them to have their eye shape reconstructed like Tae’s but they said it’s impossible because his face is natural without plastic surgery
4. Plastic surgeons name BTS's V as the top celebrity that male patients want to look like
3 plastic surgeons sat down and discussed current trends in plastic surgery among men. They revealed Kim Taehyung was the number one celebrity that patients wanted to look like, and they discussed some of V's appealing features. V was labeled as men's 'wannabe' because men wanted his attractive appearance.
However, they confirmed that Taehyung didn't get plastic surgery and not everyone can look like him by going under the knife.
ANYWAY, NO PLASTIC SURGEON HAS MENTIONED TAE HAD ANY SURGERY HOWEVER I WILL CONTACT THEM TELLING THEM THAT JIN AKGAES SLANDERED TAE OF HAVING PLASTIC SURGERY
And so as taehyung...he isnt sure about tae and there is a word called contouring and he compared the makeup one photo not his bare face..not you all saying anything

But implying that some one has gotten it done when they specifically said that they didn’t is wrong. I dont think RM had his jawline done - It used to be more pronounced when he was leaner and thinner in 2017-2019 but the last couple years as he's been bulking it's been less defined. If he loses a bit of face weight we can get that jawline back. It's more rounded now so he definitely fluctuates and it's not permanent. So defo no plastic surgery there.

This was a great informative video, but I do have some problems with the photos that were used on the before and after comparisons. The after pictures of the members were taken in 2017 (so not really recent) when they had full make up on, and we all know how make up can change one's features immensely. Also, it would be better if multiple photos from their earlier years were shown and compared, since the lighting and quality of the photos can change their appearance too.

Namjoon’s nose surgery is the only publicized operation, so I know for a fact he got it. It’s just not a cosmetic surgery. RM had an operation performed on his nose to make breathing easier for him.
My partner had what I considered the perfect nose, he then got a septoplasty and it got even better! No reshaping, just straightened out and just looks even better afterwards despite no cosmetic changes being intended. It's really dependant on the person as to wether a septoplasty changes the outside appearance of the nose or not
All the BTS members have very strict diet and have lost weight since high school. I also think that coming out of puberty and getting older has contributed to their very subtle changes.

For V I am 99% sure he has gotten a hairline transplant other than that I think he is 100% natural in his beauty. He used to NEVER EVERRR show his forehead, i remember watching videos of him on boats or to those tubes youre tied to the back of the boat, and for dear life he was holding onto his bangs so they wouldnt blow around. Any time his hair was pushed back he wore a bandana and or a baseball cap, and when it was styled for music shows you could tell how high up his hairline was. But then they went on a pretty long chunk of time on break before the ON music video was released. As I was watching ON I noticed at one part after he flipped his head I noticed his forehead, so I slowed down the speed of the video and zoomed in and saw where his old hairline was and his new one, he had a bunch of small thin baby hairs which he didnt used to have. I went down a rabbit whole with hairline surgeries after watching on of the Try Guys get it, and the re-growth most men have after that surgery is exactly what V's hairline looked like. And also ever since the ON music video V is constantly having his hair slicked back and he is brushing his hair out of his face which again he never did before.

Also ive been a fan of them since early 2014 and i love these boys, I dont view surgery as bad or a bad thing or an insult. I myself would love to have many things done with plastic surgery such as a breast reduction, nose job.

Same as with Jin’s case, V was spotted by the BTS auditioning team because of his exceptional looks. He did not intend to audition but BTS team asked him. Even BTS’s dance director mentioned this. V’s photos when he was quite young showed that his nose has been naturally tall and straight even then. Also some of his current videos and photos also show a bigger but nonetheless beautiful nose. Photos alone won’t be a reliable basis to make an analysis.

No comment on their diet or them working out? A slim jaw can simply be lost of weight. There are periods where members have rounder cheeks and later they become slimmer. My first conclusion wouldn´t be a surgery.

Finally some sense lol. They’ve gone through a lot of fluctuation with weight over the years, plus the loss of baby fat and everything. That’s definitely a factor. You wouldn’t be able to tell how chubby I was as a kid just by looking at me now, our bodies can change drastically
