That was astonishingly good. I'm studying composition, and my instructor used the original version of this piece as an example of harmonic rhythm and counterpoint. As a result, I'm very conscious of the left-hand bass line when listening to it. I couldn't imagine how you were going to manage that on a guitar. And the answer is that you simplified the bass brilliantly, retaining exactly enough of its original shape to establish a foundation for the treble. I am beyond impressed. Bravo!!!
I am working on my own guitar arrangement of this piece which I've listened to for 50+ years. I've transposed it to G (for no really good reason since even in G I use no open strings); the upper frets are more accessible. And I'm doing the pianist's RIGHT hand only, figuring the left hand bass was impossible, and that I'd do a 2-track guitar/bass recording. I've been working from piano videos and sheet music and am happy with my progress this past week, but today I wondered if there was a guitar video to inspire me. This is inspirational, Takaro. Your approach is a bit different from mine. I'm 71... still so much to learn. Thank you, sir.
This needs to be my ringtone!!!!
Absolutely beautiful
I'm amazed. This is the first time I ever saw someone do this on a guitar. Good job!
