Almost forgot ya it’s good to have multiple armies. You can stay with your “nerfed” army and still figure stuff out. If you’re on a list block, you can also just switch to an army that has more flexibility on must takes if it seems like it’s more playable. I have daemons, BT, DG, war dog allies, and csm. Even when they were bad I still played DG because it is my favorite army. If other armies get buffed and DG takes a nerf as bad as it was at the start of 10th, I’ll switch. The more you lol at an army, the more you can “finesse” things you can do to still pull off wins
Honestly, the Tsons need has gotten me interested in playing them. The Belligerent Wizards meme of double SoT in LR is objectively funny (for me) and is great fun to play. I never would have considered it when cabal point spam was the way to go, but with the nerf other avenues of play are out there to be explored.
The cost of Admech is a huge barrier to entry for the faction imo. I love the aesthetic, but unless I can get half the army 3d printed it is just ridiculous.
The nerf to TSons hurt. I get that we were one of the best armies, but you have to understand where we're coming from here. I was already skeptical about 10th edition. They took away our Psychic phase, and they removed our ability to customize our characters with different Psychic powers (which was the one saving grace of our tiny model range) but at least the army was still good and the Cabal system still allowed us to do some fun wizardy stuff. I would have accepted a nerf to auto-take stuff like Magnus, but nerfing our *entire unique model range* by 10% or more, making it much harder for us to stack a decent amount of Cabal Points. We have the smallest unique range in the game, we can't really pivot to other options, this just means we have to take less stuff. It doesn't feel like a measured response, it feels like a "you're having too much fun" kneecapping. I wouldn't be surprised if this drops us below a 50% win rate. You mentioned Clint's Black Templars list going up 120 points; basically every viable TSons army list went up by around that same amount. I love the faction too much to give them up, but all I'm going to say is that our codex had better come soon, and a range update along with it...
Yeah I mean, nerfs always are less fun than buffs, but I think it's a good thing for the game as a whole to get toned down successively. Things by the end of 9th were bananas in terms of damage dealing, folks getting tabled T2, etc.
@@AdeptusPaternus sure will, I also think you're 100% right on 5 brother list. I have Emperor champion and 5, and helbrecht and 5 in the same land raider
The fact GW reverse nerfed DG and made them better in 10th was a miracle. Really hoping BT get some buffs since those points just make me scratch my head
We'll see, I don't think they're going to be at the bottom of the meta so for now it'll likely just be small changes, at least until their book came out. The amount of rules changes GW has done for DG is actually pretty impressive when you consider where they started the edition.
I agree with Clint talking about autotakes getting nerfed. WE doesn’t have enough of a range to really pivot from the autotakes so we just continue to take the same units. All the strong archetypes went down though so it doesn’t feel that bad! The edition of angron and 8b spam continues 😂
That’s a fair point. Not being able to field your unique units is frustrating. I feel your pain though, zerks got nerfed too. Catching strays from AC/DC spam haha
I wish that they would buff units that no one is taking instead of just nerfing the auto-takes. Or maybe add some units to factions that have fewer than a dozen total datasheets...
I was already playing something new for a bit of a cleanser, but that Drukhari nerf felt a very unnecessary. But I'm still very interested and curious to see how I'm gonna build a DE list now, there is potential for some shenanigans.
True enough, but it was definitely diminishing returns after the first two with the 5+++s, and it already felt like the meta had adjusted to be able to handle that many bodies. GW never walks back a nerf right away though, I expect they won't come back down for at least half a year.
I love to see you still not giving up! You go, brother, man!
You can't keep a good man down! -Nick

As someone who has a lot of armies, I do enjoy the variety from time to time, but I always prefer to switch because I want to, not because I have to.
*Insert crazed viking howling*
The more nerfs, the better the wins feel

Everyone seems to be into terminators these days. They are definitely one of my favorite unit types just for the cool factor.

Love the chuckles even when describing stressful situations.
As an AdMech player, a points decrease is almost as bad of a Nerf because then you have to fill those gaps with the most expensive army in the game.
Time for that second mortgage!
But also, I still got some AdMech left to sell ya cheap, just lemme know...

For my current BT list I kept a 20man with Grim, for anti tank I am going to try out the recently point-dropped Knight Errant
Yeah I definitely think you still keep one unit with Grimaldus. Interesting thought about the Errant, let us know how it performs in your games!

I response to your faction getting nerfed I recommend growing out an excessively large and stylish mustache as a form of opponent intimidation.
That already applies to many space wolves players I know.
