I picked this mold up as Thundercracker and I must say I enjoy it immensely. Yes, it's fiddly. Yes, the back is completely kibble-tastic. But the overwhelmingly detailed design of the model (as with all of Alternity) is just magnificent. The fact that they threw in a 'flight mode', however cheesy, is just icing on the cake. And I used a few coats of clear nail polish to fix the loose door joints on mine, worked like a charm.
I just opened and transformed him following peaugh's excellent video and I must say... I think this figure is amazing!! I really would like to watch a "making of" video for this line from concept, to design, to production! To fit this level of detail in both modes and base it on a real life car involves pure genius which I love to interact with! Peace!
I am a huge fan not only of Transformers but your reviews as well. This is why I feel the need to tell you I feel that you do a considerable injustice to other Transformers fans that watch your Alternity Starscream review. I own alot of figures from almost all lines. I can honestly say that I feel this mold is a masterful work of art. The lines, the detail the paint, all are marvelous. I plan on buying Skywarp at least. I could hold this guy in my hands for hours.
Great review.I love the car mode, but I'm not to fond of his robot mode. Quick question, hows the QC on your paint on the blue knees and the lower crotch piece with the decepticon logo on it? A review at TFW showed some chipping.
Great review :) I think he looks very awesome. Probably one of my fave robot molds for the alternity line. I wish the transformation wasn't so clunky and he was more stable. I've never collected the alternity line because they never interested me enough. But This robot mold would almost sell me into buying some.
Yup...just got an Alt. Starscream a couple of days back.I was quite annoyed as bro Peaugh would say,the ball joints point keeps on falling of during transformation.Well I guess Takara did that intentionally just to prevent too much stress applied during transformation but after a couple of times doing that...kind of getting a hang of it & surprisingly I'm kind of growing & catching up to it.Overall a great figure especially for 'seekers' fan. Can't wait for Thundercracker though...
i was wondering how many die cast parts it has..coz, basing from this vid, it seems to be having more plastic. can you do a video comparing all Alternities? im sure ALL have their own differences..plus it will be a good showcase video for US alternity enthusiasts. hoping you can make a vid. thanks,
I got this figure yesterday from BBTS, and I have to say while he is a weirdly unique figure from the rest of the Alternity line, I love it. I'm even considering buying Thundercracker too, even though Starscream alone bore a big hole in my wallet.
@peaugh Do you have the concensus of Skywarp > Starscream in the alternity line? I haven't seen the skywarp review yet.. but the skywarp looks much better in my opinion.. which is a shame as I wanted the white car and of course starscream.. Darn bug eyed head..
Very unusual. Like some parts like the fake wings and stuff, but dislike things like his headmold. Good review. Aye, color wise they could have done a bit more.
umm you could take the top part of the car (roof, wind shield, trunk, and engine hood) move it forward as far as u can to make a some what better flight mode
I'm kind of surprised they put the doors on ball joints, given it's suppose to be a fairly pricey collectors figure. That seems like a cut back in the engineering. I'll probably still get this guy, given I can deal with fiddly. But yeah, I do want to get Meg and Cliff first.
I have to pop off the doors whenever i transform my piece too. I think the doors shouldn't be in diecast, that small little ball joint doesn't hold that weight well.
@TheOtherEthan hahaha ...lol.. but any ways they are superb figures .... they worth every cent you pay for them !! really .. i have A-01 Convoy and A-03 Cliffjumper.. amazing figures
The doors are too heavy, and the pegs are too long and the hole too deep, I find that if you plug the pegs in the groove where the doors are attached too, then you can create second set of wings.
I actually couldn't disagree more with most of the comments and with the reviewer. The figure truly is amazing. Yeah there are clearly issues with ball joints on the doors. But had these been tighter, they may have broken off easier. At least the doors can pop off and you can simply pop them back on. As far as the sculpt goes, I actually applaud the artists for pushing the envelope with Starscream (and the rest of the Seekers) with this version. He clearly is more "alien" looking from the Stars
i just cant name this guy starscream "sniff" i just cant do it! "breaks down in tears" why make a seeker transformer into a car lol! any way nice figure, i might try to get a version of the mold, probly skywarp
I am a fan of your vids. I feel that you do a considerable injustice to other Transformer fans that watch your Starscream review. Most all of the time I consider what you have to say knowledgeable. On the matter of this mold however I feel you are wrong sir. I just recieved my Starscream and I can tell you without a doubt this mold is a masterful piece of art.
@Hepathos yep !!! i guess on the power plan they indicated that 'screamer has an evil eyes so while cruising down the beach...he could see thru all the damn hot hoochy mamas....get the drift :-)
Amazing engineering, exotic car choice and a unique version of Starscream that I look forward to owning! Thanks for the review.

Very nice Alternity version on Starscream. Clearly he works also well as car as he works as fighter.
I think that this version of Starscream looks pretty neat. I like how they made him look like a jet despite being a car.
The stripes in the outer headlights making them look like eyes are cool.

After the onslaught of powercore combiner videos and movie toy videos, I was worried you burned yourself out. Glad to see some new videos from you.

I'm very much looking forward to adding this to my collection!
Great review as always. Can't wait for mine to come in!
I got this figure yesterday from BBTS, and I have to say while he is a weirdly unique figure from the rest of the Alternity line, I love it. I'm even considering buying Thundercracker too, even though Starscream alone bore a big hole in my wallet.
@peaugh Where do you work anyway? Did your coworkers think it strange that you brought in a Transformer to work?
Yeah, you got a point there. That is a pretty good remodel
I can never imagine Starscream as a car.
car mode looks sexy
my first alternity might be thundercracker (blue is my fav colour)
Cant say im super excited about these.
are these exclusives?were do you get them because i need to know.
I think the 4 time evil optics is the transformers version of Sight Beyond Sight!!
@peaugh Do you have the concensus of Skywarp > Starscream in the alternity line? I haven't seen the skywarp review yet.. but the skywarp looks much better in my opinion.. which is a shame as I wanted the white car and of course starscream..
Darn bug eyed head..
Nice robot form!
Sort of reminds me of Waspinator with the 4 eyes and the weirs lower chest piece under the fake car hood chest peice.
is the torso lock on your starscream tight? Mine seems to just slot in and sits in kinda loose
Not a bad mold I'll get Skywarp or wait for Thundercraker.
Peaugh, how many toys do you have??
What's the gimmick with the Alternity line?
AWESOME FIGURE N REVIEW
I smell a Tracks custom coming up!
Very unusual. Like some parts like the fake wings and stuff, but dislike things like his headmold.
Good review. Aye, color wise they could have done a bit more.
thanks 4 the review!!
He's much smaller than I anticipated.
He is no longer Starscream... He is CARSCREAM!
@shadowazurer Same case as mine. It doesn't seem to be a tight lock.
do the wheels steer?
feel better soon man
@BustUpBots thats not his fault if stuff randomly pops off
which one would you get ifyou didnt have them pirme or starscream
@TheOtherEthan No .. they are not .. Alternity figures are smaller ... they are deluxe sixed figures
Is this figure compatible with HA figs?
put glue on the ball joint?? :)
best figure ive seen
it's weird not having starscream being a jet or something
@content3300 wow! that was fast!
Peaugh why you doing with Grades Rating?
umm you could take the top part of the car (roof, wind shield, trunk, and engine hood) move it forward as far as u can to make a some what better flight mode
Pretty awesome. Awesome mold and great to have another Starscream without the dreaded CHICKEN LEGS! ya'll know what I'm talkin' 'bout...
intriguing

at first i thought that the wings were pretty cool but when you turned the figure around, i thought ''BULLSHIT!'' XD
All. Hail. Carscream.
@TheOtherEthan hahaha ...lol.. but any ways they are superb figures .... they worth every cent you pay for them !! really .. i have A-01 Convoy and A-03 Cliffjumper.. amazing figures
awesome
wow, the robot mode hardly even reminds me of starscream
at least megatron and convoy looked like their g1 counterparts
on the bright side, they made a good job remodeling him. maybe Megatron didn't like him "flying around like a coward."
Good review man, I don't think I'll get the Starscream. Not to mention that headmold bothers me.
The doors are too heavy, and the pegs are too long and the hole too deep, I find that if you plug the pegs in the groove where the doors are attached too, then you can create second set of wings.
This is the reason the Mitsuoka Orochi received the award for Worst Car Ever.
@cyberconprime No its not .. because this toys are Takara Tomy only .. nothing to do with Hasbro .. :D
they need transformers on an episode of how it's made
I actually couldn't disagree more with most of the comments and with the reviewer. The figure truly is amazing. Yeah there are clearly issues with ball joints on the doors. The more and more I look at this toy, the more it seems like a snake from the front.
i just cant name this guy starscream "sniff" i just cant do it! "breaks down in tears" why make a seeker transformer into a car lol! any way nice figure, i might try to get a version of the mold, probly skywarp
And here come the questions about the video quality...
It's pronounced as "O-ro-chee" not "Oro-keeh".
Btw, Orochi means "snake", hence, this based on a snake face as you noticed the front design of the car
i cant wait to buy it when this ports to hong kong china
LOL that's funny this is my frist Alternity i got it mainly for his car mode lol
I am a fan of your vids. I feel that you do a considerable injustice to other Transformer fans that watch your Starscream review. Most all of the time I consider what you have to say knowledgeable. Presenting.....DECEPTICON CARSCREAM!
Did any of you even watch the review yet...?
Or are you just racing for first post status :\ ?
@THEFALLEN093 Thats freaking true lmao
@Hepathos yep !!! i guess on the power plan they indicated that 'screamer has an evil eyes so while cruising down the beach...he could see thru all the damn hot hoochy mamas....get the drift :-)
And why is our favorite decepticon JET a car, like i said, A J-E-T JET?
@BustUpBots pip pip cheerio
WHA Starscream a land transformer? lolwhaaaa
Guys, watch out for the EVIL optics!!! ^^
oh gawd why is he a mitsuoka orochi? that's like the winner of the "ugly patent" in the car world.
Your nice
starscream is still a pass, show me Skywarp! using a different camera? looks blurrier than usual

the flight form is weird

@TheAmazingAitch so none of his reviews have been the best?

This is only complex for complexity's sake.
it kinda has snake eyes
looks like waspinator....
oh-row-CHEE
depticon alliance
wow he's got some sexy long legs
Its a non-ecludian starscream. Sorry, he is kinda goofy looking, and the choice of alt mode was really poor.
it's pronounced oroCHI, peaugh c:
