Hi Becky, I just wanna say how much I love listening to your videos. I am totally blind and I want to say thank you so much for always talking about the recipe amounts that you make and also how to make the recipes. Hope you have a wonderful day I am going to try your families sausage, stuffed sweet mini peppers. Can’t wait to try it. It sounded so good. I had to do a grocery pick up order so I can get the stuff to make it. Hope to hear from You
You are so welcome! Thank you so very much for listening to my videos! I am working on the sound quality so I hope you can tell it has been better!
I am blind also. Becky’s videos gives me the confidence I need in the kitchen.
@@tennagrover6140 thank you so much I have to say that I really don’t know maybe but one or two other blind people so it’s so nice to have you reply to this comment. Maybe we can talk again thank you again that’s awesome totally made my day.
I noticed the sound is improving ❤
🥲 love you crystal 🌹
It may have already been said, but it might be easier to pull carrots by pushing down first and then pulling straight out! Love the video! Thanks for taking the time!
“This book is a small batch preserving book.”
Five minutes later.
“Alright so we’ll be quadrupling this recipe.”
😆 Becky doesn’t do small batch anything.
😂😂👍🏻
You must be so proud of how well your garden turned out your first year in your new home!! Love all your recipes and watching all the things you do in your kitchen and your garden. I don't often get to costco so I really miss watching you shop there, lol. Have a wonderful weekend!
So glad to see you put the gloves on! Years ago, when habaneros were just making their way into popular culture, my mother and I did a canning project without knowing the exact heat levels. I had a test that night for statistics and my professor sent me home as soon as I finished it because of the redness of my hands. Found out that soaking the hands in milk helps cut the pain...
Several years ago, I embarrassed myself at a Mexican restaurant while eating some "mild" salsa (I don't tolerate the hot stuff). As I was gulping down my water, which wasn't helping things, my sweet waiter calmly handed me a glass of iced tea. I gulped it down and was able to breathe and talk again. He explained that the tannins in the tea interacted with the capsaicin to help neutralize it. I've never looked that up, but it worked! I didn't even care that the tea was unsweetened 😂
Becky, it probably doesn’t make or break this recipe, but liquid measuring is traditionally done in liquid measuring cups not the dry measure flat top ones. The measurements are slightly different for the two. Mostly the liquid measure gives you an accurate amount when you get the cup up to eye level to see the liquid at the correct line - and it’s much easier to not spill it!! I love your channel and this hot sauce recipe looks sooo great I’m going to have to try it. I don’t eat sugar though, so I’m wondering whether it would suffer terribly without the brown sugar. Maybe with stevia instead?
@@cynthiafisher9907 thanks - will see what I can find. Now that I’m thinking about it, I haven’t seen any store bought canned foods containing stevia. Maybe just leave it out, or add a tiny bit at the time of serving would work.
It's so beautiful putting a carrot you grew from seed to that.
Becky, it's so Cool hanging out with you & seeing the delicious food in your garden.
"I found a new recipe I've never tried before so I'm doubling it and switching around some of the ingredients" 😂 Me too, Becky. Me too. Never found a recipe I could follow. Thank you for showing us how creative we can get in the kitchen!
Haha YES! That is me as well for sure!
The tree you kept near the house is beautiful. And I think I peeped another beautiful red near the older strawberry / garlic area. And everything just popped in beautiful color in the rain. Annnnddd the shirt! I am in fall heaven watching this episode.
Congratulations..500🎉🎉. You are so cute tasting your hot peppers! Wishing you 500 more!
My ex husband and I had a garden at our house. We grew a bumper crop of Habanero peppers. He was the heat monster ...not me! When he was processing the peppers I had to leave the house. I was choking so badly on the airborne pepper. I have occasional asthma and those peppers really had a bad effect on me!
Your garden an carrots look stunning. Your so fortunate to have a beautiful garden. 😊
Hi Becky you should not use wooden spoons or any other kitchen .
The hot pepper can stay for a long time.
And a big CONGRATULATIONS👏👍🥳🎉🌟✨💥👏👌🌹💐🏵️💮🌸🌻⭐🌟✨💫🌶️🥕🥭
I'm 84 and never had a problem hearing Becky. I will say soom questions that are asked Becky has already mentioned in her video's.ALOHA
Hey Becky! Great video, as usual. I have the same kitchenaid attachment. Just wait until you use it for bulk chopping onions. GAME CHANGER! It is obviously not worth it for one or two onions, but when you have a big cooking day or you need to chop a lot, it is very helpful.
Also the softer the food the lower the speed and the harder the food the higher you want the speed to be. I want to like it for tomatoes, but for me they come out mushy rather than diced (but I was having problems with my lower gears on my mixer, which I have recently replaced), that has just been my experience, you may feel differently.
I also love to use it for celery, potatoes, and occasionally carrots (I get a little paranoid because they are so hard)
I always check out cookbooks and preserving books from the library and if I love them I purchase them. I've found several new favorite books on my list to buy!
Thrift stores are also a great place to look if you can! I've got many great ones for a quarter lol
Tip: if you want to remove seeds in jalapeños, easiest way for me is to cut pepper in half lengthwise, then use a grapefruit spoon to scoop seeds out.
Thanks Becky! Cowboy Candy Relish!! What an awesome idea. I've always done them in rounds.
You should have a party for landscapers so they can see the beauty that they helped create.❤
pam she did give them a party...haha a Party in their Mouth! She sent them on their way at the end of each day w/homemade Cookies~
Such a cute idea!
She spoiled them rotten with all the treats. I bet they miss working at your place😊
Your gardens are beautiful. I so enjoy watching your channel
I have that attachment too. Made Cowboy Candy with red and green jalapeños and gifted 4 is jars for Christmas. A big hit
I made your Chicken, Sun Dried Tomato Pasta from about a month ago. It is in my top favs now. It is so delicious and creamy and freezes wonderfully! I think it gets better the 2 nd time. Thanks for all you do!
Your Yard looks simply Beautiful 😍 Good Job to your landscaping Company.
Congrats on having over 500k subscribers! I've been watching your numbers climb since 200k. I know your channel will continue to climb because you are a fantastic utuber, your are my favorite and I look forward to watching every episode. Keep up the great work! God bless you and your wonderful family.
I just discovered your channel and I absolutely love watching you. I have been using America’s test kitchen for years. They really are the best when it comes to recipes. I’m so glad you found them. ❤
Congrats on your channel reaching 500 thousand. Happy to be a long time sub🌶.
You need a steam canner. Uses less water.
I prefer my peppers chopped/diced for cowboy candy myself 👍👍 love to use in meatloaf. Hope you’re having a great day Becky! 🫶
I bought that cookbook for my birthday and I’m incredibly excited to try the recipes. I’m giggling that I bought it right before you released this video. My husband is really intrigued about the carrot one. We like heat but we also want our sauces to have flavor. So I’ll probably make that one first.
Becky ❤where did you get your shirt? I love all the fall colors 🍂 😊
You will like the chopped jalapeños for the candy. I follow Rachel's recipe and it's delicious and works well in smaller pieces.
Thanks Becky!
❤❤ gloves are always needed. Love the kitchen aid attachments. Thank you😊
I love the autumn plaid shirt! Thanks for your videos & Congrats on 500k subscribers! Will you do a celebration?
Hi Becky just wanted to let you know your 1 hour buttery dinner roll recipe at Scratch Pantry has several errors.
Yay I’m home today to watch without stopping, no work, loving it.
Hey Becky!! Looks amazing! I must agree when handling peppers you have to wear gloves. Years ago I was like oh it's only 12 jalapenos....my hands burned all night. Never again will I do that to myself.
Omg I’m so excited to try this recipe! Thank you so much ❤siracha is my favorite 🤩
Good warning for asthma folks
I made cowboy candy and my husband had to leave the house!
I canned up bbq sauce with the leftover cowboy candy brine. So delicious! And a great way to use up tomatoes too.
Oooooooh great idea!!
Thank you and God bless!
Hi Becky, the sound is still low most of the time. Lately I have to put Closed Caption on but it is impossible to watch what you are doing while reading the Closed Caption. Take care. ♥️🥰
Sounds like a fun book. Just ordered it.
Yay!! A new video!! Woohoo!! Thanks Becky!
I think you are my favorite human. I am so inspired by all that you do. My favorite part is that you are always you.. just real life. 500 thousand well deserved. But truly you're an inspiration. From a kinda local. Sandy Oregon
Your supposed to broil peppers in hot sauce until they are black or charred. It makes a better hot sauce
I recently made rasberry jalapeno pepper jam and I made the mistake of not wearing gloves. My hands were on fire and hurt so bad that I thought I might be having an allergic reaction. It lasted for 5 hours. I looked it up on line and I guess it is quite common and they called it jalapeno hands. Thank you for reminding people to wear gloves, I learned the hard way. LOL 🔥
Becky, if you do want to can the pepper/carrot hot sauce, to be on the safe side, you could pressure can it for 35 min (pepper pc time)
Just a tip. If you get some juice from the jalapeños in your eye you can rub your eye with your hair and it will take it out. I don’t know the science behind it but it works.
I’m not a fan of spicy but I still love watching you make it, as well as watching you harvest all your produce. Our garden didn’t do very well this year so we are going to do a covered one. We’re in CA and the sun burns everything and we had lots of insects from the rainstorms. But we’re not giving up! Have got a lot of great ideas from you which are all on the list to make soon!
You need to try making Habenero pepper jelly. My friend made some out of our garden habenero peppers. You would love it.
I am SO glad you advised wearing gloves. I made the mistake of not wearing them, made poppers, then took my contact lenses out. When I put them back in my eyes the next morning, I WAS A CRAZY WOMAN! Hurt beyond belief! 😵💫😵💫😵💫🤪 I now even use a plastic bag on my hand to pick out jalapeños at the market. 😂
Thank you for all you do. Becky, I'm gonna try these ones.
Becky... I'm happy you are trying roasted veggies! But one thing that tastes amazing is if you grill your veggies and garlic...get it nice and charred..(I do about medium to dark) and then peel a small portion of skin.. and blend slightly. It taste amazing and taste like authentic mexican salsa!!
My i inquire where you get those amazing kitchen aprons? Love the hot sauce with the carrots. Definitely worth the try
You should can up the cowboy candy liquid. It's a good flavoring for pork BBQ or any other long roasted meat. You can use it as a chicken marinade, etc.
Becky...research a steam canner....so awesome.
Do you have alot of cookery books and which is your favourite and one you use the most?
Becky let you know I heard that there's supposed to be a shortage on sugar now as well as coffee ☕ and chocolate 🍫🫕.
Loved it as always i do suffer with breathing issues so i can not have anything too hot and spicy but loved the enjoyment of it anyway. xxx
Congratulations on 500K! 🎉🎉🎉 Loving the new videos and mic 💖 I totally would like to try cowboy candy but "milder" style lol
The powder would be great for chicken wings!
Just wondering how many folks out there use Silpat mats rather than parchment? Pros & cons?
Tip to consider, and it may already be in the comments: Rinse the major dirt off your produce - outside, with the outside hose. Your plumbing will be better for it.
I always dice my jalapeños for cowboy candy because that’s the way my hubby prefers it❤️
Becky you brighten my dat watching you, thank you!❤
👋 Becky, Do you save the 🥕 leaf for veggie broth or to used in a juicer? 🧃 🥕 🍃 🌱
Yippy jalapeños confetti. It is a party now!
love your autumn blouse ☺️.
how do you keep splatter from your backsplash
Would the heat of the peppers bother the chicken's intestinal system?
Love the chopped idea!
Love your videos!❤
I'm glad you mentioned the problems peppers cause to people who have asthma. I was processing Hatch hot chilies a few years ago and didn't know this. Needless to say, I had to go outside with my inhaler. They were sooooo spicy! I'm not a spice girl (haha), but my partner is.
Thank you Becky for this little escape into your world this evening . Also thank you for the microphone the sound quality much better it would be a shame to miss what you were talking about. Can we have a baking day soon please . Enjoy your hot sauces.
Love your show❤️🇨🇦
Becky, when pulling carrots, larger stalk, larger carrot.
Oh, that chopper attatchment looks like a cleaning nighmare... tell us how easy it is to clean. I used to make my own hot sauce and blended it with bell peppers. But sadly I'm getting old and on my own, I got some free from the local shop, so I didn't bother this year.
Just want to say, I don’t eat hot sauce but I love your videos so of course I had to watch this too😂. I watch them all no matter what!
It's so smart Becky to use the gloves fo safety.Because you are also th I king of Baby Acre and that would be horrible .I love watching your videos congrats on 500K
I can relate to the overwhelming smell of the peppers my late husband would tell me I'm chasing the devil out of the house because the strong smell of the peppers when I would make my salsas
Made the spaghetti carbonara tonight. It was awesome! Restaurant quality!
Your videos are such a joy to watch! I've learned sooooo much from your channel
Hi there! I watch all of your videos and thing they're great. I have a question, it's about one of your earlier bulk freezing meals. You did a Tortellini Bake, but your make your own Alfredo sauce. For the life of me I can't find it, (but it was great to go through the other recipes too). Would you be able to send me the recipe, or maybe one of your subscribers could help? Thanks again for your down to earth recipes.
Do you compost your chicken manure & leaves? Apparently this makes awesome compost for your garden!
🇦🇺I just bought the cookbook. A$59.76
My granddaughter wants hot sauce.
Cowboy candy relish sounds so yummy 😋
How much juice did you have left over from the cowboy candy? Trying to figure out how much sugar is in the finished product.
I recommend you wear gloves too if you are preparing ginger, I did that once with 2 hands of it and my hands were on fire for 2 days.
Isn’t sriracha fermented?
I was going to make 4 different hot sauces and can but...Sunday I broke my arm a very bad complete break so all my preserving has came to a hault.
Let me just say how true about wearing gloves. My mom learned that the hard way. She did not and did not wash her hands and went to the restroom, needless to say she ended up in the ER with burns.
Hi Becky can we have an update on baby acre
I think you're so awesome I watch all your videos all the time
Love hot sauce. Can you please speak louder for the voice overs? It’s much lower in volume than when you normally speak.
My husband printed out the carrot cake recipe from your newsletter. And commented on the wonderful website and choice of font ect from the printing option.. it's this from your new website??❤
Milk or buttermilk or heavy cream something with an oil in it will take him pull that heat out of your mouth
I don't think you would have tasted the fish sauce in that, it would just be a deeper and richer flavor. I sure envy your love for spicy! Wish I could eat more spicy. Were you born with that, or did it develop with practice?
what scale do you use that has lbs and oz?
Congratulations on your half million mark….very much deserved been here from the beginning and never missed a vlog thank you x
