Ultimate Gohan: can reach full strength without transforming Why it matters: the different super Saiyan forms are stressful on the body, diminishes stamina How we know he's Ultimate: the bang tells all. It is correct in super. Don't be confused by DBZ. What happened: Gohan can only reach his max power, whatever it is. If he stops training, his max power drops. Nagaskay they do. Which is why the practiced sitting in the SSJ1 while calm to minimize it. So the lower SSJ forms aren't doing much anymore. But the higher transformations to SSJ3 or SSB (though it's not supposed to be but they're doing it wrong), UI, etc. do more damage, so being able to skip all of the bulking, ki releasing, screaming, and pushing the body beyond its limits to hit the next form, he can skip it and just tap into whatever that max form is.
I think Gohan Powering Up His Human Side when his on his on Ultimate not intended for Saiyan i think that was Piccolo trying to do at DBS ep88, Train Gohan to Mix Human Ultimate To Saiyan.. His a Hybrid Right?
@Burns me up. You don't get it. It a reference to tfs vegeta when he said that to piccolo after piccolo fuss him out for being a little bitch while everybody else was being beaten by broly
@@houndrysmagolyteofhope4661 Piccolo and Kami are the blood line of Katas an original member of the dragon clan which are known for otherworldly mystical ability that some would consider godlike, piccolo is unique in the fact that he is a dragon clan namekian and a warrior, expanding on those powers could make Piccolo a huge game changer.
@@sethtatum3085 Why? Well no, the first half of the cell sags he was missing. He got the second half (the part where Vegeta goes to fight cell and Gohan Goku train) and the final part of it. That's it! He hasn't done anything since then. The reason why people want other characters to be the hero is because after the Buu saga, it was just Goku and Vegeta show.
I don't see why anyone would call this bad writing. Gohan's inability to use the Ultimate form was due to lack of training and psychological barriers. The episode explained this pretty well. This is actually one of the best, if not the best, training episodes in all of dragon ball.
You know after the destruction of namek and Frieza at the time you figure if you found something like that out you’d go back to fully unlock that power when you had more time lol
@@jamysonalex8922 this applies basically for every Character apart from Goku, if you ask me Gohan is the only one who has killed main villains apart from Goku, Vegeta is clearly the second most important character and hasn't defeated any main villain till now, he has been used like a punching bag over the years
Overall, Gohan's Potential Unlocked / Ultimate form is a form in which Gohan unleashes his current full potential and much more. According to the _Daizenshuu,_ _Chōzenshū,_ and _Dragon Ball GT Perfect File_ books, the golden-haired Super Saiyan forms unlock partial amounts of a Saiyan's potential and Gohan's Ultimate form draws out his potential beyond its limit, meaning, it's the entirety of his potential and then some. The Ultimate form just isn't permanent in at least the DBS series, DBZ movie 13, and DBGT.
I have been wondering if he's like Broly who could also access the power of the great ape without transforming, which brings the questions if Gohan can go super saiyan in ultimate form.
Yamcha's the only fighter to actually hold down a steady job though. That counts for something. Really, he ought to be rolling in the puss... and I don't mean Puar.
Geekdom and people who don't understand piccolo: why would piccolo train Gohan that's stupid piccolo isn't that strong. Piccolo isn't that good of a fighter. Power is EVERYTHING. Sayajin powers all the way. Piccolo in this episode: y'all wrong. Gohan strong I'm strong but Gohan gets cocky I'm here to fix that sayajin weakness.
The Buu Saga was pretty harmful in that it established that it would forever be the Goku show, that no, the other heroes _can't_ save the Earth without Goku, and it always has to be him.
Not gonna lie piccolo surprised me this episode and honestly who knows how truly strong he is. He's a badass and he was the perfect person to train gohan.
This is my theory when your full potential is unlocked it is your potential AT THE TIME, but you expand that over time when you gain knowledge and strength, so when Gohan’s power was unlocked the first time he could still gain strength and he can still gain strength now because his potential has expanded (just my theory🤷🏻♂️)
Just imagine theoretically speaking Gohan used the super dragonballs wishing to be a full blooded Saiyan. Learns Super Saiyan 4, goes to whis if he had the chance. Asks him if he could train Gohan to improve on his latent potential. Gets him maxed out in his world. Unlocks God ki. Somehow learns to utilize God ki and super Saiyan 4 at the same time. Then boom! Ultimate Gohan (max power). Mystic Gohan with super Saiyan 4 (black coloured)hairstyle, no tail and no fur. With yellow god ki (to resemble the mix ki of gods and super Saiyan 4) and the super Saiyan 3 lightning as his Ki. Sexy.
@@rileyvankirk9355 not really, because pure bloods possess more zenkai, more potential for new transformations. Anyway I'm talking about super Gohan after universal tournament saga. So he slightly got some trauma for that experience which makes him willing to do anything to ensure nothing goes wrong in the future.
Gohan always had some secret power since he was a kid who would floor full grown saiyans when he was upset. I heard Toriyama wanted to make him the MC after Goku but fans weren't having it. I actually hope he does surpass Goku some day for good and Goku can be proud of him.
Alumineer Toriyama had actually wanted Gohan to be the MC after the Cell Saga, but everyone missed goku and wouldn't let toriyama do that, and yes he confirmed it himself. It was in an interview I believe.
That's partially true. Toriyama held Gohan back because he felt he was not a strong enough character to stand on his own. Gohan is awesome & all, my favorite character, but how can someone fill Goku's boots?
If you think about it, gohan has been training ever since The return of frieza saga so yeah I get what you mean unlocking SSJ2 then mystic but i think it kinda made sense
major boizer 99 Kaioken is a multiplier to your form while mystic is just your power unlocked to its fullest potential(meaning it has a cap) So I think that a kaioken could be used to even further power up due to the fact it’s simply a multiplier to whatever your power is currently
John Wick I don’t think saiyans can ever have a cap with zenkai boosts. So by that logic they can infinitely get stronger even if their “potential was completely unlocked”.
Meh, I think Piccolo referenced the Buu arc instead of Beerus because he was trying to talk about a time when Gohan was at his peak power. It wouldn't really make sense to be like "Hey! Call out the power you used that time you got your ass kicked by Beerus in like 3 seconds!"
Jose W. Velazquez He got his ass kicked by a Buu with the powers added of a fusion on top of his super buu form which is arguably his strongest form. Gohan was destroying Super Buu regardless
on top of that, in the BoG movie trailers, that specific scene where gohan powers up has him go super saiyan, but they changed it into the the ultimate form for the final release of the movie
J. L. I doubt he went mystic because after regaining his power he definitely thinks he can take on Goku which would mean Berus definitely can't just one shot mystic Gohan
+Nephenon Then the only known case of a FIRST time transformation without having to power up using the other forms first was when Gohan powered up directly from base to ultimate in Z. Seems kind of odd to me. Especially since Elder Kai said he could transform to Super Saiyan afterwards but it wasn't necessary.
Thanks so much for the LOVE i have gotten on this video! I worked on it from 1am to about 6am so I'm glad people are liking the homework I did + Terez helped me. You guys are the best!
Thanks for addressing this. I still believe it's not too well explained and that it has inconsistencies when compared to DBZ. But you gave the best explanation that puts our minds at semi-ease.
Geekdom101 hey do you think the trailer of that fight with goku vs. jiren when he turned from ssb to a red aura but had his base hair and all was goku ultimate form.that he tapped in his ultimate form and that is the new transformation that goku used to continue fighting jiren?
I think during the Namek Saga, when Guru was unlocking Gohan's potential, the Elder Namek said that he wasn't able to draw out the full power that Gohan possesses. That, and they were in a rush since Vegeta was after them for stealing the dragon balls he collected
Geekdom101 one mini side point episode 88 was not the first time Gohan went from super saiyan to Mystic. when Gohan was getting impatient with old kai during the ritual and start powering up his eye turn green but his hair stayed black, but usually when the eye turn green the hair turn gold straight after, but i may be mistaken. Anyway keep up the good work
Although this is the first time his hair changed from yellow to black, it's not the first time it was shown as a transformation past the super saiyan level. The episode in DBZ you referenced when he first transforms his eyes will change from the turquoise color to his normal black if you go back and watch the episode, Hence the elder kai saying "just fire it up like your going super whatever." it's a good reference point if someone doesn't think your right.
To all you haters Gohan is a hybrid dont forget that, gohan has tremendous focus and intensity, with the heart of a saiyan and the soul of a human you have a elite warrior
Unfortunately he lacks the focus and drive of a Saiyan. Gohan fights for others which makes him stronger but unless they are in danger he cant bring out his full potential.
King Ragnar i said it before. If gohan was like his father and Vegeta. He would have surpassed them for sure. Im telling this as a vegeta fan. Young saiyans seem to have more potential. Even future Trunks equals ssj blue.
Geekdom101 number one on TH-cam. Thanks for the hard work you do. I've been following dragonball world since I can even remember. You've taught me some things. Can't wait to see what we get from you when this movie drops.
I always figure that during BattleOf the Gods and Resurection F the "bang" is Gohan tapping into that ultimate energy but it's not 100% Ultimate due to his lack of training
I don't know why you are saying that it's bad writing for this episode. It's true. I played the guitar on a really high level for 7 years, stopped playing it for 5 and picked it up few days ago. And let me tell you, I was GARBAGE. Just like Gohan I was rusty and I forgot almost everything. It's really natural for that to happen. So if anything, their writing was on point with it.
It is bad writing. What you're thinking of isn't potential, you just went down a couple levels or all of them. You would still have the same maxium potential lol.
d master Gohan losing mystic and regaining it by training for a brief period is basically relearning. When you hone a skill but you slack and lose some proficiency you will typically get the hang of it faster than you would learning it for the first time.
I think having your power unlocked opens up a large amount of power you have, but do not have access to. So as years go by anyone who is training and growing should be able to have new power unlocked, especially if it's by a different person with a new method. Also I'm sure it makes it more effective the second time if you were young like gohan the first time.
I doubt you'll see my comment Geekdom, but I had my own theory on the mechanics of potential unlocked. I think when a fighter has his/her potential unlocked, it awakens all the hidden power that person would have if they were at their prime at that SPECIFIC point. It would explain namek, as guru unlocked the strongest form of gohan possible at that point of his life. However in Buu saga, since he has aged, his potential for power has grown as well, allowing him to be even stronger. Basically like at any stage in your life, your body CAN be at a peak condition, capping at a certain age, thus potential can be possibly unlocked multiple times if the person is not continually training like goku or vegeta. Also, gohan is just receiving his max power possible from his body, however it doesn't mean he can't train his body to go further
if that doesn't make sense, think of one's potential as a exponential line on a graph. It grows with time, and it's path is already predetermined. Now apply it to gohan. His potential has been genetically determined from birth. He was already encoded to be able to reach mystic power by Buu saga had he stayed in good physical condition. So anything beneath the line is one lacking in keeping up with their body's standards, while going above the exponential line is pressing your body's limits. Thus, explaining why it won't work on goku or vegeta
i agree, but i do believe he can get way stronger if he trains his base form similar to Goku and vegeta. Whis sort of mentioned this too when they were training. so i believe he can train in base and when he goes ultimate the amount of power he wields will just be greater than before, which can maybe lead into some form of god transformation which is a stretch without the proper training but i'm just throwing it out there.
Then in Super, for whatever reason, he got deleveled (something which before this was deemed impossible), and had to grind XP like a motherfucker to get back to the level he was at before. Meanwhile, Goku, Vegeta and Freeza went and bought the damn DLC. The bastards.
Joshua Edwards NO, Its called POOR WRITING💯👎 The BOO SAGA IS POORLY WRITTEN.💩 Toriyama and his assistant were getting burned out on dragonball by this time.
We need to blame the fandom for all the Gohan nerf since they does complaining back in the day that they didn't like the idea Gohan takes the MC role. People seems to forget that Ultimate Gohan is at least another SSJ God, or a prototype of it, it's just a like, both drained far more less energy and looks just like their basic/base form. He has more potential than everyone in the series the same with Cell, that's the reason why Gohan is a matchup for Cell back in the Cell Saga with a theme that (Gohan Vs Cell) 2 Most "Potentially Great Warrior" fight each other. Gohan and Cell are the Perfect Warriors and has far greater potential than everyone elses in the series except that damned Legendary SSJ himself- Broly.
@@Virdice Yeah, but Goku also fought Beerus at SSG, and is still no match at SSGSS (SSB). So imagine how much control in power he had when he fought Goku SS3. Like a too powerful flick would just make him turn into chunks of meat. Pretty sure they can regulate their strength even when fully transformed, to a lower level, just more difficult. Kinda like driving a car at 5KM/hr at 5th gear. Not impossible but too damn hard I think (have not actually ever tried this tho)
Actually Goku didn't hold back against Gohan. He used Kaioken x20 when he gave his final charge against Gohan. You can't hold back when you use Kaioken. It defeated Gohan yes, but he survived the hit and was even smiling after. That says a lot imo.
@@Dr.Gojithecollector actually you can kaioken multiplies your power level but it is controllable like other transformations like he could yell out kkx20 but go down so that he does not stress his body and kill his son the same is with blue form so yeh your point is false
Gohan trains with Piccolo to get where he was at in the Buu saga. Then Gohan will train with Goku to power up for the Universe Survival Saga. Dont get too comfortable with Ultimate Gohan, they may have more in store with him.
Remember the Universe 6 Vs Universe 7 Baseball match? Do you remember how Champa praised Gohan's strength? I think that's foreshadowing for the Universal Tournament
I think they've been foreshadowing Gohan's return a quite a few episodes! Especially during the Trunks arc. There was that moment where Gohan figured out what was going on in the future and there was that brief second of Gohan regretting not being able to help. Then of course, at the end when Trunks returns to the future and sees Gohan. I think Toei has been doing a pretty decent job with foreshadowing future events!
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the dbs manga. Where it explicitly states that gohan tried to seek power through his human side instead of his sayakn side
I really wish they gave Gohan a distinct look or Aura when he's in his ultimate form. He just looks like he's in base, so unless it's stated, it's hard to tell when he's in it or not. Maybe just add some lightning around the white Aura to give it a different look.
I always loved the idea of his ultimate form resembling base, and keep in mind all beings are capable of this ritual so it wouldn't be able to change features such as hair, if beings like freezas or namekians lacked that.
@@lazarx804 no, no. Golden freeza is a transformation and nothing like gohan's ritual he underwent. GF is more akin to ssj blue, in the sense that it's a god ki level transformation freeza made or found in order to beat Goku. It is also implied that Freeza was able to choose his form's color due to the fact he said he used it to assure him at the top of the pecking order.
It was stated that Gohan in the BoG movie was suppose to transfer into super saiyan but they changed to the color and aura to make him look like he used his ultimate form, similar to how Vegeta used super saiyan 2 against beerus but they forgot to add the lightning effect with the form.
You really gotta take a step back and just realize how fucking stupid this shit is sometimes. Like I love this show to death, but goddamn man. NO IT'S SSJ2 YOU CAN TELL BECAUSE IT'S GOT LIKE LIGHTNING. NO GOHAN IS IN ULTIMATE FORM NOT BASE YOU CAN TELL BECAUSE HE HAS 1 STRAND OF HAIR NOT TWO. Everyone always complains about the hair color changes but at least that shit is actually distinct lol.
I think this has something to do with mystical power vs physical power. The Elder Kai's ritual kind of unlocked a mystical form where Gohan could like instantly access all of his Ki, all of his spiritual power, the full energy that his physique could produce, but he can still train his physical form to ultimately be capable of even more energy output even in that mystical form.
0ddMonk3y this is true. I remember tales from the old Crystal/Gold/Silver versions where my friends would save right before they level up a pokemon, check their stats after they are leveled up, and if they didn't power up in the right way they would restart. No rare candies ever since they only give you like 1/2 strength upgrade too.
Let's just say Gohan and Piccolo go into the time chamber. Since there are only about 9 hours left until the tournament, they can get roughly between 4-5 months worth of training with the amount of time left. I think that's enough time to get a significant power boost for both of them if they train as hard as they have this episode.
For this being my first of your videos, I loved it! This is something my friends and I have been talking about and it’s great how you referenced everything and got into so much detail. DEFINITELY learned!
let us not forget to mention, when piccolo lost his arm, he was still able to outsmart ultimate gohan. with a move I don't remember seeing, having complete control over his severed limb. hey geekdom!! is that a new ability or it was always there?
RaginDXDemon yeah it's not a fight to the death but outsmarting is still outsmarting, no matter the situation. and it won't be a fight to the death, tournament rules, so knowing gohans kind nature and opponent can be able to outsmart him in the tournament
I think the ability is new. That is some Buu type shit controlling body parts. That would have been useful to do other times, so not sure why Piccolo has never used this before.
Mike Hunt he's naturally a better and stronger fighter than his dad and Vegeta. If he tried and was constantly training he can go beyond his dad in ultra instinct without a doubt
When I was younger I used to think that Gohan had a really OP base form and that if he wanted he could go super Saiyan and still be Ultimate but he would be way to OP
It would have been cooler that way honestly. Imagine mystic gohan, who could potentially be as strong as a ssj3 (debatable) be a base form and have him go through all transformations (ssj, ssj2, etc)
@Esteb5n Caballero Gohan is stronger than SSJ3 without using a SSJ form, its that he just wants to rely on his own potential and keep training that way. Gohan also said he "doesn't do that anymore" and has no need to. When you think about it, it makes sense for him to train his Ultimate form and rely on that, given that he doesn't need to transform and is above SSJ3. Gohan has shown quicker progress with his Ultimate form than any SSJ form that he's used.
+Jeffrey Alvarez no it's not, that was a misconception created by Teyana Taylor, she made it when she posted a caption with a range rover and she changed the lyrics to fit the picture.
he just need a new suitor sayaman suit with no helmet and he will look super bad ass, maybe with a purple aura then he will be totally stunning amazing ^^
dude you're good bro.. you explain shit i already know and still make it very interesting.. i look forward to all your videos... maybe do a vid on the history of dbz games
So basically Gohan is nothing if his bang is on the right side but if it's on the left of his head he's Ultimate Gohan, makes sense to me and you think I'm joking look at his Mystic/Ultimate pictures, if his bang is nonexistent it's game over lol
+AlfredoTheKai KaiLife You do realize that Gohan tried to restrain his power in the cell and buu saga right? He could've killed cell and buu in 2 seconds but wanted to make them suffer because he was too cocky. He went SSJ 2 no problem so explain how he's weak in his base. Mystic form serves as a power up and base form so his mystic form is now technically his base. It's a powered up base form, that he can sustain and improve upon. It kinda serves as God essence goku and vegeta when they fought frieza. It's the closest thing to a god form.
Christian Johns piccolo got stronger too and 17 isn't as strong as goku so u guys obviously r jumping the gun by not acknowledging that goku was holding back a whole lot
Hamza Darwish It's really difficult to acknowledge Goku's power just by saying he's holding back a lot considering that Toei implied that 17's ALSO HOLDING BACK! I blame Toei for that shitty sparring match (the dialogue, that is). I mean, while I can be cool with 17 being able to go toe-to-toe with Goku's SS1 or SS2 form, him holding back AGAINST GOKU'S CURRENT ULTIMATE POWER WITHOUT STRUGGLING IS UNDENIABLY RIDICULOUS! I hope they fix this in the manga.
@Kï Betton explained it the best, but here's my take. Not a whole lot has been stated in the anime or manga for Ultimate Gohan but it is implied that Gohan no longer needs Super Saiyan for bringing out the SSJ power, which can't be used in base naturally. For Gohan, the Ultimate state can't be stacked because it's already all of Gohan's potential in base form. Gohan's full potential includes his latent potential from being a Saiyan-Human hybrid and the first part of the ritual fully unlocked it. It includes all of the powers of the other forms as well, such as Super Saiyan 2 without needing to transform. If he has the potential to get stronger by transforming into a Super Saiyan 2, then Ultimate brings out that potential power in base form to add on to Gohan's full potential. "With the essence of the Super Saiyan." If Gohan COULD have used SSJ with Ultimate, he would have when the lives and souls of his beloved Pan and Videl were in the balance, yet he didn't. Therefore it must be impossible, or there is no gain and only downsides.
They need to pass the torch onto Gohan. Make him be the strongest like we know he can become. Why does Goku have to always save everyone? Why are they holding Gohan back so hard? It's so annoying
I think toriyama said he tried to be the main character but his character isn't the main character type, goku's character type is more suited to be the main character
I know this is over a year old, but I am kinda disappointed that, with all the God transformations for Goku and Vegeta (who didn't even go through the ritual like Goku did from what we saw), we didn't get some sort of similar reveal for Gohan during the ToP. Like get the return of the Mystic/Ultimate/Potential Unleashed form, only for the foreshadowing of it not being his limit from Piccolo coming to fruition with him tapping into some God ki from the Elder Kai's ritual. That would've been cool to see.
He didn't even have a day to get used to his ultimate form, hell, he barely had one fight of experience with it, and once buu was dead, there really wasn't any reason to use it again other than I guess to train? Which Gohan was really interested in anyway, so the excuse of him forgetting how to even tap into that power sounds perfectly reasonable to me. I don't have a problem with it.
Hey geekdom it's mysterious here I just got to say like I watched all your videos you give very in-depth information it's insightful you have a good way of explaining things when things are misconstrued or confusing and you sent the fax in your videos with somebody likes it or not you state the facts and I respect that. And it's going to keep me subscribe to his channel big fan I've seen them almost every interview you put out like you respect in the community so much so you that you know the actual voice actors that's a a chin I can get behind cute with your work man I'll be watching in commenting
I hope you all realize how powerful piccolo is and not let gohans powe boost over shadow it. if I am not mistaken, gohan was losing the entire time to piccolo while in golden hair form. even going ssj2 was not enough to keep up with him. gohan now is already really powerful, as quoted by the omi King during the exhibition match. so maybe geekdom, if you reading this, can do a future power scaling video on the master piccolo. let's hear your take on it
I really feel like this form should have been a precursor to ultra instinct. When you think about it, both forms are very similar. Being completely different from a super saiyan transformation, and more efficient. Gohan’s ultimate form is all of his potential released at once, similar to UI. UI is basically all of goku’s hidden potential brought out through a transformation into a divine state. However, the precursor to this, ultra instinct sign or omen, was the form not fully mastered. I’m sure gohan’s ultimate form paved someway to this because that was the first time we had seen a saiyan use a transformation outside of super saiyan besides gokus kaio ken. It would be really awesome to see gohan get some new big power up to put him back up there next to his dad interms of power. We’ve all seen it, vegeta has said it himself, gohan could possibly have the most untapped potential out of them all. And it’s hard to argue. In the buu saga he went from being no sort of challenge to fat buu, to absolutely tearing supper buu apart before he absorbed piccolo and gotenks. If he would have lived, kid buu wouldn’t have stood a chance. But no goku had to let him die and totally steal the win. Cmon Super Season Two, gives us more gohan action!
Khalil yeah dude you right. Mastered UI feels like an ultimate version of kaioken. When you think about it, both techniques are meant to amplify all the users traits in combat. Heightened reflex, speed, bringing out all of the users potential. And both have a ridiculously damaging draw back. I really wish they would get a handle on all the transformations and techniques. Like I love them all, they all Have a purpose and are awesome in their own right. But the power scaling is like all over the place 😂
Khalil I’ve honestly never been a fan of ssj3, until sdbh introduces us to Cumber lol. I honestly think that’s the most grounded that form has ever been. If you look how cumber is, his ki is wild and fluctuating, his power is “overflowing”. Kinda makes sense that he would feel comfortable fighting as a ssj3 because that’s the biggest draw back of the form. The high levels of energy it takes to maintain. If Goku actually honed that form, went into the hyperbolic time chamber and trained himself up on it, I’m sure it would seem a lot more useful. But, instead of showing the saiyans completely mastering ssj2 like how Goku and gohan mastered ssj1 in the cell saga, and mastering ssj3. They’ve completely tossed all that out the freakin window for anything and everything else. God ki, rage ki(trunks), ultra instinct... like at this point I think they’re just trying to have a bigger color palette than the power rangers 😂😂😂😂😂
+Frizzo Yep, but that limitation was only for the old Chamber (Kami's work) When Goku was training for the Univ 6 Tournament he said that Dende fixed the Chamber and get rid of its limits.
I don't understand why you would think it was bad writing that he wouldn't be able to attain his ultimate form at this point in the story. as far as Cannon is concerned he's used that form one time against one opponent and then was rather immediately absorbed. it's not like he learned it and then mastered it and then forgot it, he forgot it because he only had to do it one time after he was shown how.
When I was a kid and watched the show, I didn't really like "Ultimate Gohan" for a few simple reasons. The first is that it was basically a power-up given to him. The second is that he... didn't change much, if at all. I feel like one of the reasons I liked the Buu saga (though not as much as the Cell saga) was the fact that Toriyama went freakin nuts with all the different forms of both Buu and other characters. It was just all around fun to see characters reach new levels of power and seeing Vegito was damn awesome, too. When Gohan became Ultimate Gohan he just kinda... looked the same to me. Oh, he was suddenly stronger, sure, but the visuals just kinda weren't there.
i hated mystic gohan because he didn't work for it. Against cell and during the hyperbolic time chamber he went through so much for his transformations and it felt good
Vocally grunting during tennis will achieve the same thing. Same principle in real-world terms. A kiai keeps your head focused on the contest, and vocally exerting during a strike is a bit of a hype technique to involve more of your body. Not a mystical exertion of ki or energy or any type of innate energy except the chemical energy used to power your muscles and nerves.
It lets you exert yourself more because that is how the mind works. By heightening how serious your brain takes a physical contest, you can exert more chemical energy into your muscles by influencing catecholamine release and other neurotransmitters. Dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine are most important because they affect brain reward pathways, motor control, heart rate, breath control, expansion of the bronchial tubes leading to the lungs, vasodilation in major muscle groups, and other related processes. A mother may be able to lift a car off of her trapped child, but that doesn't mean that she tapped into anything other than her fight/flight and other instinctual responses.
Came for ultimate gohan explanation... left with a PhD in anime

Ultimate Gohan: can reach full strength without transforming
Why it matters: the different super Saiyan forms are stressful on the body, diminishes stamina
How we know he's Ultimate: the bang tells all. It is correct in super. Don't be confused by DBZ.
What happened: Gohan can only reach his max power, whatever it is. If he stops training, his max power drops. If he starts training again, his max power goes back up. Ultimate doesn't give him more power, it gives him access to all of it without transforming 8 times like Goku.
There. All good now.
SirGenesis206 super saiyan doesn’t drain stamina(atleast for gohan, vegeta, and goku) I doubt ssj2 drains their stamina

@Rigard Radaghast I don't think is it that complex, Toriyama is a simple man

I don't see why anyone would call this bad writing. Gohan's inability to use the Ultimate form was due to lack of training and psychological barriers. The episode explained this pretty well. This is actually one of the best, if not the best, training episodes in all of dragon ball.

Perfect explanation to me
I have been wondering if he's like Broly who could also access the power of the great ape without transforming, which brings the questions if Gohan can go super saiyan in ultimate form.

Not gonna lie piccolo surprised me this episode and honestly who knows how truly strong he is. He's a badass and he was the perfect person to train gohan.
*cough cough* except Tien
This is my theory when your full potential is unlocked it is your potential AT THE TIME, but you expand that over time when you gain knowledge and strength, so when Gohan’s power was unlocked the first time he could still gain strength and he can still gain strength now because his potential has expanded (just my theory🤷🏻♂️)
Aaron Draws that’s what I was thinking as well
This makes sense
Sexy.
Joshishere96 since hybrid saiyans are stayed to have more potential than pure bloods, I don’t think he would ever wish to be a pure blood.
Regigigity that’s a rumor. Tori never confirmed that
Alumineer Toriyama had actually wanted Gohan to be the MC after the Cell Saga, but everyone missed goku and wouldn't let toriyama do that, and yes he confirmed it himself. It was in an interview I believe.

major boizer 99 Kaioken is a multiplier to your form while mystic is just your power unlocked to its fullest potential(meaning it has a cap) So I think that a kaioken could be used to even further power up due to the fact it’s simply a multiplier to whatever your power is currently
J. L. Lmaoo right 😂😂
To be fair, he did get his ass kicked by Buu later on asswell.
So budokai had his transformations right all these years.
Dcdatruth85 right lol?
Dcdatruth85 so weird huh I never though the Ultimate form was a transformation
I think that's where the super writers got it from honestly.
+Nephenon Gohan never had to power up to super saiyan prior to his ultimate form in Z. That was only portrayed in the games and recently Super.

You’re The GOAT Of DragonBall Channels
I don't know why you are saying that it's bad writing for this episode. It's true. I played the guitar on a really high level for 7 years, stopped playing it for 5 and picked it up few days ago. And let me tell you, I was GARBAGE. Just like Gohan I was rusty and I forgot almost everything. It's really natural for that to happen. So if anything, their writing was on point with it.
Nikolić Pavle he got rusty just not training ''for some month" lol its diff case from what you did
tell me about it, i was so rusty myself but after 3 intesne months, it all came back! so i dunno. In dbs time...is it enough?
It is bad writing. What you're thinking of isn't potential, you just went down a couple levels or all of them. You would still have the same maxium potential lol.
d master Gohan losing mystic and regaining it by training for a brief period is basically relearning. When you hone a skill but you slack and lose some proficiency you will typically get the hang of it faster than you would learning it for the first time.
Sn In um Dragon Ball Super is 4 years after DBZ I think.
Our nigga Gohan back!!!!! And he breaking limits again 🔥👌🏾
Our nigga Gohan lmao
Lord Escanor he has no limit that's what he will soon realize
Inhale the Toxin that's how I always looked at it
Inhale the Toxin That's what I think too
Inhale the Toxin love this theory bro , I feel the same way now that you mentioned it
i agree, but i do believe he can get way stronger if he trains his base form similar to Goku and vegeta. Whis sort of mentioned this too when they were training. so i believe he can train in base and when he goes ultimate the amount of power he wields will just be greater than before, which can maybe lead into some form of god transformation which is a stretch without the proper training but i'm just throwing it out there.
He had his power unlocked twice because he raised his level cap over time
Joshua Edwards I giggled at this, thank you funny man
He got the expansion a little later than the others that’s why
Joshua Edwards he finally updated xenoverse 2

The hair. He and the fierce looks on his eyes
I always loved the idea of his ultimate form resembling base, and keep in mind all beings are capable of this ritual so it wouldn't be able to change features such as hair, if beings like freezas or namekians lacked that.
@@rinkarako Doesn't Frieza become golden instead since he lacks the hair feature?
@@lazarx804 no, no. Golden freeza is a transformation and nothing like gohan's ritual he underwent. Exactly!!! When I read the manga his eyes went white. And I thought that would’ve been permanent but nope.
It was stated that Gohan in the BoG movie was suppose to transfer into super saiyan but they changed to the color and aura to make him look like he used his ultimate form, similar to how Vegeta used super saiyan 2 against beerus but they forgot to add the lightning effect with the form.

Piccolo is going to be really dangerous during the tournament.
I think this has something to do with mystical power vs physical power. The Elder Kai's ritual kind of unlocked a mystical form where Gohan could like instantly access all of his Ki, all of his spiritual power, the full energy that his physique could produce, but he can still train his physical form to ultimately be capable of even more energy output even in that mystical form.

let us not forget to mention, when piccolo lost his arm, he was still able to outsmart ultimate gohan. with a move I don't remember seeing, having complete control over his severed limb. hey geekdom!! is that a new ability or it was always there?
mikhail lowe I was wondering this too???
mikhail lowe Outsmart? Its not really outsmarting when its not s fight to the death and just training
RedHunter1987 agree..
To me, Ultimate/Mystic Gohan is probably the one that should go Ultra Instinct. the hair color and the logic behind ultra instinct and all.......
He isn't a good enough fighter for it
Mike Hunt he's naturally a better and stronger fighter than his dad and Vegeta. If he tried and was constantly training he can go beyond his dad in ultra instinct without a doubt
Agreed.
Gohan has to master God ki first
Nathan Attzs he’s NOT a better "fighter" than Goku or Vegeta, he just used to be naturally more powerful!
In the Super manga, Gohan implies that he simply chooses not to go SSJ. He can stack SSJ if he wanted to, but he doesn’t want to rely on SSJ anymore.
@@chewezx1767 Is it really possible to stack it up Ultimate Form with Super Saiyan?
@@alexandrapagan3222 well you've seen broly stack ssj with ikari so why not?
Raindrop, droptop, gohan is back at the top,top
Videl is getting wet
IcYGodZ He about to summon shenron on her face
That song is wack af
It's range drop
+Jeffrey Alvarez no it's not, that was a misconception created by Teyana Taylor, she made it when she posted a caption with a range rover and she changed the lyrics to fit the picture.
Mystic to me is dated, i think its high time Gohan got a new transformation
True. He even stated he forgot how to do mystic, he should've worked on another form
he just need a new suitor sayaman suit with no helmet and he will look super bad ass, maybe with a purple aura then he will be totally stunning amazing ^^
fuck no
Nah. Confirmed most powerful non-fused character in DBZ and we only briefly saw him. In stoked to have him back for an extended period.
its not called mystic
I have returned
Yes gohan my fellow frie-
*DODGE!*
Son Gohan you better dodge in the damn tournament
It has been 50 years..
Everything has changed, but I do not age..
It is time..to get back to the past..
*Samurai Gohan*
u did it
Fuck u
Yeah, Gohan can go beyond Ultimate, through another ritual he'll become Omega Gohan.
Again, and just mabey he can reach Alpha Gohan...
by the end of dragon ball super 2 gohan transforms into gohan blanco and defeats jirens sworn nemesis el hermano
"its like Omega shenron but weaker" - GT Fanboys from 1990s-2016
And he can go beyond Omega, he'll become Blanco Gohan.
:v
He's gonna go Omega, just for him to be too arrogant fuck it up again. Smh. =_=
One of your two "dads"
That had me off my chair XD
TechBit lol hell yeahh
TechBit more like his only dad
dude you're good bro.. you explain shit i already know and still make it very interesting.. i look forward to all your videos... maybe do a vid on the history of dbz games
I'm hype for episode 90
Love your videos man you give the best explanation of anime/manga. Thanks keep it going
So basically Gohan is nothing if his bang is on the right side but if it's on the left of his head he's Ultimate Gohan, makes sense to me and you think I'm joking look at his Mystic/Ultimate pictures, if his bang is nonexistent it's game over lol
Leondre' Leonard lol one flick of the bangs makes a BIG difference between badass and weak as hell
It's the other way around moron. The bang curves to the right when he's mystic and to the left/straight/ not there at all in his base.
badass level
Shrek Thetroll it's left
+AlfredoTheKai KaiLife You do realize that Gohan tried to restrain his power in the cell and buu saga right? He could've killed cell and buu in 2 seconds but wanted to make them suffer because he was too cocky. He went SSJ 2 no problem so explain how he's weak in his base. Mystic form serves as a power up and base form so his mystic form is now technically his base. It's a powered up base form, that he can sustain and improve upon. It kinda serves as God essence goku and vegeta when they fought frieza. It's the closest thing to a god form.
Who else would love to see a rematch between 17 and piccolo?
Christian Johns 17 would body him
Christopher Vidal yep
piccolo puts up a good fight but its too much of a gap
I respect people who admit when they are wrong
Govan is the only characters that has so many appearance and different look followed by Bulma
"With the essence of the Super Saiyan."
If Gohan COULD have used SSJ with Ultimate, he would have when the lives and souls of his beloved Pan and Videl were in the balance, yet he didn't. Therefore it must be impossible, or there is no gain and only downsides.
#MGGA Make Gohan Great Again!
DragonBallHDUncut no can do dragon ball is run by toei now
DragonBallHDUncut He has reaturned.
Subject Delta reaturned
I'm so exited for gohan
Now that he's back he's gonna destroy
I just relized we never seen gohan go full out
Dragon ball Closeup imagine how videl feels lol
They need to pass the torch onto Gohan. Make him be the strongest like we know he can become. Why does Goku have to always save everyone? Why are they holding Gohan back so hard? It's so annoying
Nah uub for Goku's Successor hahaha he literally gave the chance of life to uub so technically Goku is his dad as well
KadMonster because the fans are so deadset on kissing Goku’s ass
Give Gohan a juicy steak like ...BROLY. Let him go head to head with the one guy we know is formidable. Without help, Gohan showout.
they tried any times and fans didn't like it so they always brought back Goku
That would've been cool to see.
....is keemstar teaching me about dragonball?
I can't unhear
Jesus Christ, I can’t unhear it now... thanks
Literally not even CLOSE to having the same voice. They sound so different what are you deaf clowns talking about
Alex Xavier Buddy are you OK You seem pretty worked up about this
@@YouWinTheAward YES IM SO MAD IS IT THAT OBVIOUS?? LOL
I hope you all realize how powerful piccolo is and not let gohans powe boost over shadow it. if I am not mistaken, gohan was losing the entire time to piccolo while in golden hair form. even going ssj2 was not enough to keep up with him. gohan now is already really powerful, as quoted by the omi King during the exhibition match. so maybe geekdom, if you reading this, can do a future power scaling video on the master piccolo. let's hear your take on it
mikhail lowe Well sort of. SSJ2 Gohan was around equal to Piccolo
Hex Productionz An SSJ2 got chocked out by Piccolo. hes way stronger
Brad that's exactly what am saying, choked the life outta ssj2 gohan. way stronger
mikhail lowe all that time gohan was studying, piccolo was training. motherfkers a beast now. I can't wait to see their "combo" (;
Phu Tran Damn straight!! that green monster is gonna fuck shit up!!
I been looking for a great explanation of this. Ultimate Gohan vs SSj2 Gohan. I knew Ultimate was stronger but needed the Intel on why. Thanks. 🖒🖒🖒
Like I love them all, they all
Have a purpose and are awesome in their own right.
The power is all in the bang man!! 😂
I agree 100% with this video. Ultimate Gohan is a badass!
He lost his hair 'bang' because he 'banged' Videl a lot.
Busy dragin the balls
Daniel how did gohan get videl boy I would pay to make out with her
he busted his dragon balls
Why don't they use the hyperbolic time chamber
Because of Mr. Popo around in the palace. Pecking order...
Didn't Mr. Popo state in the cell saga that you can only spend 2 full earth days in the time chamber?
+Frizzo Yep, but that limitation was only for the old Chamber (Kami's work) When Goku was training for the Univ 6 Tournament he said that Dende fixed the Chamber and get rid of its limits.
Yep, Dende made the chamber way more overpowered
king wizard Vegeta will use it in the next couple episodes
I don't understand why you would think it was bad writing that he wouldn't be able to attain his ultimate form at this point in the story. as far as Cannon is concerned he's used that form one time against one opponent and then was rather immediately absorbed. it's not like he learned it and then mastered it and then forgot it, he forgot it because he only had to do it one time after he was shown how.
This was very good.
Against cell and during the hyperbolic time chamber he went through so much for his transformations and it felt good
The hanging bang is a trait of gohan being halfhuman
It's also a homage to Goku in base
I used to do karate so if I scream can I turn mystic?
lol
I do Muay Thai can I do it?
Yes
Form is so underrated idk how you go from beating super buu to losing to frieza in super the form was so strong crazy
