We used to love bully beef stew when I was a kid. The ole girl used to add macaroni to make it go a bit further. Great on toast with lashings of T sauce. Had a hankering for it winter just gone but I was the only one that would eat it lol... kids are too well fed 😂
The beauty enhancement...nah. The rest of the video, as always great. It's a great camping area with plenty of room and usually fairly quiet. hope you recover from your injuries soon.
I make something similar, small tin of corned beef, tin of creamed corn, chopped potato and carrot, curry powder and seasoning to taste, add water and boil it together till the potato and carrots cooked to your liking and reduced till quite thick.. Makes for a hearty corn and beef chowder
Im based in Auckland and the campsite is called the Upper Mangatawhiri Camp Ground in the Hunua Regional Park. I stay there regularly, it suits me well.

Hello again, I’m lying here at 1am in the dome tent I use for overnighters, up in Whangateau, hoping it doesn’t collapse on me in the wind, and have decided it’s finally time to give up on it and buy the pronto, I just can’t decide between the 4 or the 5. I remember you mentioned you’d originally wanted the pronto 5, but they didn’t have it in stock. Now you’ve had this a few months, do you have any regrets or would you still buy the 5 if you could? Mostly it’s the bigger awning and bigger windows that I like, as solo camper I don’t need the bigger space. But you seem to have plenty of space there under the awning, so maybe the extra metre isn’t worth the extra $200. And the windows seem big enough, although I like the fact the 5 would let the air flow in the bottom for more cooling in summer. Just keen on your thoughts! Hoping I might get lucky in an Easter sale. You’ve won me over to the Trangia too.
Im glad I went for the 4 and have no regrets. It easily fits into the garage all set up to dry after a trip and leaves enough space to get a car in, too. Internally there is plenty of area for me, my cot, chair and all the other bits and pieces that I like to take, although 2 people with tons of gear would be cramped. For me solo, its a perfect size. The awning is fine, provided the wind and rain arent too bad, or you face the rear of the tent into the weather. You can see from the vids that I set up under the awning when its raining and Im not getting wet. Sometimes a little fiddling is needed with the angles, pole height and ropes to stop pooling, but I think that'll be the same for all of them. It does have the vent in the bottom at the back of the tent and the rear fly can be adjusted open to allow heaps of airflow through the vent, same as the others, I think. Windows are fine. Plenty of light and ventilation. I have no issues with condensation, except when its raining and everything is done up. I see H & F do have the Pronto series on special now. In short, for the way I use it and the fact Im solo, I made the right decision.
@@OAPAdventures thank you so much for taking the time to reply, this is really helpful, and cheers for even finding a deal on it, looks like I’m off to H&F tomorrow!
@@OAPAdventures bad news I’m afraid for pronto fans, turns out they’re not making them any more and its pretty much only store stock left for retailers… I ended up in the opposite situation to you and having to grab the 5, there weren’t any 4a left in aucks. It’s bigger than I thought but the concept is so much better than the all in one air tents because always end up in the rain, and I can deal with the frame and fly separately on this. That’s really what I wanted the most, thanks again for the tip :)
@@deViIle I thought that it might be a "run-out" sale as the prices were pretty good. Other than a little bit more space, they are essentially the same tent. I think you'll be pretty happy with it.
Love your channel and the outdoor setup you have is awesome mate 👍
Thanks for the kind words. Im glad you like the set-up and the videos. Thanks for watching, it is appreciated.

I love the idea of the sauce and macaroni. I'm going to try that.
Peter - you are perfect just the way you are. :-)
You are my kind of sub. Some-one with obvious good taste. Thanks.

Yes, it would be fair to say that the beauty enhancements havent been a success. I'll be fine, just takes a bit of time. Thanks for watching, again!

That sounds like it would taste great. I will steal that recipe for a future video. Thanks for watching.
Peter another great video where are you ?
I would like to try that camp site I have a gammy knee so the car is the way for me to go

Sorry to hear about your knee Pete, was there a hiking video that you had the incident on that I’ve missed?
No, the fall was early on the trip and I had taken next to no footage. Thats why Ive tried this video. It's all I can do at present.

the beauty enhancement might not be for you but you might be able to sell the feature to outdoorsman Dave
Yes, I agree. Definitely no beauty enhancement needed for me, but @OutdoorsmanDave is another story!
