It would've been cool if instead of racing the same rivals as the console game, you would race other rivals. Knuckles for classic era in mushroom hill, Espio for adventure era in emerald coast, and Blaze for modern/handheld era in Water Palace.
Knuckles I understand for the classic era but Sonic and Espió were never really rivals, they were doing there job for Team Chaotic and Blaze was not really much of a rival for Sonic either but it would be a cool concept but I wish you could play as the rivals without having to mod the game.
@@nicolaskent8695 actually in the Rush series, Blaze and Sonic were in equal terms of speed. Plus they did have a bit of a rivalry even though it was the Eggmans fault

Well I mean they were already giving us bosses that weren't in the console game like bio lizard and Big arm and those are bosses that I'm pretty sure everybody would have loved to see in the console so it's not like they didn't give us more than the consoles. But yea it would have been cool
I only reason I think the 3DS time eater is better is because evey one shuts up and dosent keep talking to sonic saying it's a homing missile.

The boss lineup here draws some great parallels to the console version. Perfect chaos and Biolizard are both beasts that eventually overthrew eggman. The egg dragoon and egg emperor are both penultimate bosses before the real threat Is revealed.
Agreed, and the Death Egg Robot and Big Arms also have similar parallels, both being powerful Eggman mechs used to end off the game (Big Arms less so if you're playing the full Sonic 3, but it still fulfills a similar role).

After watching this, I have to say that the 3DS version did the Time Eater battle much better than the home consoles did.

This is so much wasted opportunity. They should've made 3DS version consist ENTIRELY of levels from portable games (Like first zone of Sonic 2 for Game Gear). Same goes for the bosses, should've been final bosses of Sonic Triple Trouble (or whatever portable classic Sonic game), Sonic Advance 3 and Sonic Rush.

In the Sonic Generations skill shop you can buy the homing attack for Classic Sonic after you beat the game... At least you can on consoles and PC.

That’s debatable. The console version had some pretty memorable bosses compared to the 3DS. But, that Time Eater battle was WAY better on the 3DS version than the console version.

Rival Battles-Not so impressive since it's the same race over again even though the Silver fight is still miles better than the miserably designed original fight from the one of the worst games ever(AKA the infamous Sonic 06)

Time Eater-Suprisingly miles better than the console version's fight. Since there's no friends bother you so much, the fight is so much tolerable. Not only that, the boss pattern is much simpler to learn. WHY COULDN'T THE CONSOLE VERSION BE LIKE THAT!? DUMBASS SEGA!

Am I the only one who hates the Time Eater in this version? The one thing that annoys the hell out of me is dodging it's hands. And sometimes the lasers. I actually prefer the Console version over this version. I'll see myself out now.

Why is Egg Emperor representing the modern era bosses? In the console version, Sonic Heroes is in the Dreamcast era stages, so what the fuck?
Sonic adventure 2 was the last game in the dreamcast era. sonic heroes was the first in the modern era
Chase Acuna To me, Sonic heroes is still in the Dreamcast era, it was still in Sega's/Sonic Team's "Multi-character story" phase, if we're only counting actual Dreamcast games, then there are only 2 good ones, and the 3DS already broke the rule by having a level from Sonic Rush in the Dreamcast era.
The sonic rush stage was in the modern era.
Also, Sonic Heroes is still considered dream cast era. Even by the console version. It has the dream cast voice cast too
SEGA probably didn't even give a damn about the 3DS version and focused on the PS4/360 (Explains the low quality) I loved Generations, but there were some mistakes.

Faster way to bot Big Arms, Hit him in the brief moment before he does his mad animation, then when you home attack onto him. The third time would kill Big Arms

Do you S-rank a boss just for beating it? I know Generations' rating system is forgiving but I would expect "no damage" to be a requirement for the best rank, at least.

This is way different than sonic generations that know where you fight metal sonic,deathegg robot,shadow,perfect chaos,silver,eggdrgoon and than the time eater.
That's the one I'm going to get for Christmas and all those boss battles made me excited the Metal Sonic one I just thought I was about to play Sonic CD all over again and the silver the hedgehog one I was really happy and even shadow make one about the mods if there's going to be any mods I'll be super duper happy and I can show my brother and my sister all the forms of shadow Sonic and others please make the mods one for Sonic G and I don't this is the first time I've been comment just kidding

How can it be possible that Biolizard looks even worse than on the Gamecube version of SA2?
Such a shame that Big Arm is an easy boss to defeat because it leaves nowhere near enough time for the player to appreciate the kickass Sonic 3 remix playing in the background (especially the amazing synth solo on the song's second repeat).
We should have had the death egg robot in the other version of Generations get the same treatment Big Arm did
How many people do you think realize you don't need the B button if Time Eater's arms are not in front of you? If they are east and west then you don't even need to do anything beyond boosting, don't need anything other than Y.
