Just finished reading ‘Raising Warriors: Preparing Your Children For a Godly Life’ and it really opened my eyes to some new ways of guiding my kids in their faith. Highly recommend it if you’re looking to strenghten your family’s spiritual life

you are an excellent teen coach. I love your videos. My teenager's behaviour is irrational and disrespectful sometimes and it is difficult to have a reasoned discussion. Your videos help.

My brother is 13 right now and during the past few monthes he's been extremely disrespectful toward everyone including my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. He fights a lot for small problems and he screams and curses. He's had such an agressive behavior that one time he broke the door of our garage(which is hafly made of glass). And every time that there is a arguing he starts to throw furnitures or his room accessories.I'm literally frustrated like sometimes I cry out of desperation. And the point is I don't have strict or bad behaving parents like they never raise their voice .They literally have been wonderful but sometimes I see my mom crying and having a hard time.Is there any approach to this situation? Is there anyone with same experience?

Some of this advice is good for... difficult people at work, who are acting rather teen-ish in their 40's.
I had 2 teenagers, one who complained "you never gave us the chance to rebel" (loads of communication from ages 2~8; increased responsibility and 'natural consequences' on age-appropriate scales from 8-18.) Not that everything turned out perfectly, but it was enough.

It is a cultural thing. Teenagers test their boundaries up until the point you allow them.
For example rudeness in children is not tolerated in a place like Jamaica. If you talk rudely to your father or mother expect a slap or some severe consequence for it.
In America we try to embolden our children and that is why they test boundaries all the time.

Hi daniel.. love the video but what do you do when you follow all the steps and they still walk all over you ? 🤔

Just curious, how many teenaged children do you have?

I have three children, but the advice I give is actually based on my work with thousands of teens over the past decade.

As always, I love your advice! I'm curious though, my neighbor has a teenage daughter who has threatened to kill him, run over him with a car, and has stabbed him with a pen when she is angry. I showed him this video but he says it doesn't apply to these more violent situations. Thoughts?

I'm sorry to hear about the situation with your neighbor and his daughter. I think it would also depend on whether his daughter has a mental health condition?
