This is basically the Kuroko no Basket equivalent of Kageyama and Hinata's freak quick. It's unrealistic but possible in theory. But it doesn't matter, it's just cool.

As the series goes on you begin to recognize that each generation of miracles player has their own “shadow.” Takao is that for midorima definitely.

@@ElevateYourPowerLevel9000 Yeah for Kise it was Kasamatsu, for Murasakibara it's Himuro, for Aomine I'd say it's still Kuroko, since he played solo in highschool but had that relationship in middle school, and Midorima & Takao showcased here.
They show that in the final credit scene. They each have a foil

wow. i dont even understand how akashi, the least straightforward character is the one you seem to understand the most. ah well i cant complain since i love akashi too
24:30 So something that might not translate super well, let's call it a fun fact?, is that this character, Reo Mibuchi , is pretty much an "okama" stereotype; that is a feminine, flamboyant gay man/trans person, or a drag queen. It's visible in the way he speaks and in the way he moves. Hayame even calls him "Reo-nee" like "onee-san", that is "big sister" so basically "Sis Reo"
Akashi is one of the best "final boss" characters i've ever seen in anime. His ability works really well with his personality and not only is he a godtier player and captain, he had a crucial part in the gom team imploding as well. Not to mention how cool scenes and lines he gets
14:48 this episode was where my love for Midorima and Takao as a duo really came to life. At first, i really thought they were just trying to copy Kuroko and Kagami, but i realized that they are their own thing and i freaking LOVE THEM FOR IT
Yea never thought that Midorima would even have a duo haha. But their back story is really cool.
I know Kuroko’s Basketball pre-dates Haikyuu, but this episode reminds me so much of how Hinata and Kageyama were rivals who eventually joined the same team. ❤
Akashi is one of the best villains in anime. I love how he remains a mystery until the third season, we're introduced to all these amazing generation of miracles players and you cant help wondering "what about the captain, how could he possibly be better than Kise, Aomine, etc...".
And then, when you finally meet him, he makes Midorima look like a helpless child who cant even stay on his feet against him.
Akashi is an emporer, a ruler, and his will and orders are absolute.
I often heard an opinion that Aomine should've been the main antagonist, as he's the closest with Kuroko and it would've been more emotional. But I disagree with this completely. Their relationship is tragic on their own way, but Kuroko's main goal is to prove his ideal of basketball to be the superior one. That's the title of the anime and the entire point of it. He wants to defeat his former colleagues and help them understand. Akashi is his worst opponent in this war, simply because he's the most intelligent one who convinced the other four to accept his ideal of selfish basketball. Even during the Touou arc Aomine mentions "Akashi was right. Your basketball cannot win" long time before we actually meet Akashi.
To prove his point, Kuroko has to defeat Akashi. And the way it was built upon truly makes Akashi a great villain.
He is very mysterious indeed. I can't wait to learn more about him!
Hey coach, a while ago you asked the members how we thought you should watch the new Haikyuu movie. I watched it yesterday and, in case you are still not sure, you should definitely see it in theaters. The cinematic experience is amazing, and watching it in the big screen makes a big difference

I love all the characters of Kuroko no Basket, they will all grow on you... But I cried during this match and it made me dislike Akashi even though I already read the manga and knew what would happen TT.
This match is actually my favorite match in the entire series. So many good moments!! Like I believe its also the first time you hear Midorima actually yell/scream anything. He breaks his cool and calm demeanor when he screams "Akashi!!". Midorima's quote of " There is no shame in falling. The only shame is not getting back up!" is definitely apart my gym motivation! lol Also Akashi's quote of "You exceeded my expectations of you but not what I could imagine of you." is such another cool way to show much of a strategist Akashi is. He may be the most arrogant person you can be but he won't underestimate someone in a competitive setting. He is just like Aomine in that they both have never lost but how they have achieved that and how they are strong are different in many ways.
Reo is indeed on the feminine side, even with how the blond calls him Reo-nee, that is supposed to be how you call an older sister.
Though what I like is that they don't overdo it with the feminine look like some other anime

Idk if anyone has told you what emperor eye is but it’s not like a superpower. It is if it was in real life but it’s defined by the fact that Akashi just sees the small movements and details in how your body moves including things like small muscle interactions that allow him to predict what you’re going to do next.
So when they say, he just sees it, they really mean it
Now you know why he so freely stabbed at Kagami in season 2; Akashi knew Kagami was going to dodge it. There was no danger. Just a show of force.

Tbh this game becomes even more tragic once you get the full backstory on the GoM and specifially Akashi.

As for Akashi, I love him. He's the perfect ultimate villain for Kuroko no Basket and his realism mixed with his backstory which will be told eventually makes him such an appealing character. I like most of the characters, but Akashi, Kise, Midorima and Aomine the most.

You know watching this again rakuzan's center has to be the most boring player from the perspective of his skill set. Like his whole thing is muscles and strength but that isn't a very unique attribute especially since Kiyoshi can easily hold is own and muradakibara would probably absolutely dump him. In contrast the two other uncrowned kings on his team have speed dribbling and different shooting types
Interesting observation. Maybe that’s the hidden trait to show that strength is not enough to be successful on the court
@@ElevateYourPowerLevel9000 i'll try not to spoil anything for you, but I'll just say at face value even teppei has his never give up attitude on top of his jokic-type passing intelligence which I find interesting. I just feel when they got to writing that guys character, it was a little hard to find an interesting skill to give him that late in the show and especially with their very limited screen time

I cried so much with this game, i truly love the dynamic/relationship that those two have, the way Takao slowly took a place in Midorima's world until he trusted Takao enough to take this risk, they're so precious to me 😭
